ABOUT CALIFORNIA SCHOOL DASHBOARD
The California School Dashboard provides parents and educators with meaningful information on school and district progress so they can participate in decisions to improve student learning.
Further, it provides targets and clear metrics to support district focus around school improvement and monitoring as a way to ensure all students are demonstrating college and career readiness.
The accountability indicators are as follows:
- Academic (ELA and Math) (3 – 8 and 11)
- Suspension (K – 12)
- Chronic Absenteeism (K – 8)
- Graduation Rate (9 – 12)
- College & Career (CCI) (9 – 12)
- English Learner Progress (ELPI) (K – 12)
WHY A NEW SYSTEM AND A NEW TOOL?
California is committed to informing communities about how well our schools are doing. California’s future success depends on tapping into the potential of all students, so they graduate ready for college, careers, and life. For schools to reach this goal, teachers, parents, and the community need clear and useful measures of progress. As an accountability tool, the Dashboard will help the state identify schools (including charter schools) and districts needing targeted assistance.
In the past, accountability systems for districts and schools relied heavily on test scores. But one test taken on one particular day doesn’t provide a complete picture of all the ways schools are helping students succeed.
Think of it this way: You can’t drive a car by only watching the speedometer. You also keep your eye on the road, check the mirrors, monitor the gas tank and pay attention if the engine light comes on. Similarly, the Dashboard provides information on different aspects of student performance, which will give a more complete picture of a school’s progress. The Dashboard also reports on growth to show a school’s trajectory over time.

Education card
Parent’s personal account on the website and in the mobile application
We have collected all the functions a parent needs in one service. You can link all your children to the account,
and your virtual assistant will always be at hand. Choose a platform that is convenient for you: mobile
application or web version of your personal account on our website.
Online replenishment of Obrcard and Transport Card without commission
You do not need to search and stand in queues at the replenishment points of the Obrkart or Transport Card.
You can track account balances and replenish them instantly. When the account balance reaches the minimum
threshold, we will notify you in a push notification.
Electronic diary and attendance
Monitor your child’s progress. Lesson schedules, homework assignments and assessments are available in two formats:
by day and by subject. Absenteeism and lateness will also not remain a secret: track the time of entries
exits of the child from the educational institution.
Power setting
Take care of the health of children by controlling their diet.
If your child is contraindicated
certain products, you can easily set bans on the purchase of certain items from the dining room menu.
The child will not be able to pay for them with the Obrcard, the terminal will display a purchase error.
Pre-order lunches in the school cafeteria
Order meals for your child in the school cafeteria from home. You don’t have to pre-order every day. Can
set the duration of the repeat power: several days, a week, a month or any other convenient for you
period. The cost of meals will be deducted from the Obrcard on the day the child receives lunch.
Card expense control
Let’s fix each chocolate bar bought by the child in the buffet. Movements on your Education Card accounts
completely transparent to you.
The history of operations on all accounts is available: replenishment, purchases in the canteen,
fares in public transport and more.
Electronic library
You will be able to monitor the list of books that your child has taken from the school library and has not yet returned. Hints
remind you when to return the book. No more surprises at the end of the year when you are in the library –
debtor, and the long-forgotten book is already somewhere in Narnia.
PUSH notifications
Do you want to know how your child is doing in real time? Turn on push notifications and we will
report on the child’s entrances and exits from school and his purchases. Don’t worry about forgetting to top up
balance, set a minimum balance and we will remind you to top up your account when it reaches the threshold.

Validation procedure for city and express buses
Hold the card to the reader of the validator (passage recorder) and hold until the indicator lights come on (data exchange takes no more than 0.1 seconds).
Note. In order to avoid mass congestion of passengers at the entrance and traffic delays, it is necessary to prepare transport cards in advance before entering the transport.
Green indicator : The validation (registration) process is considered successful, the fare has been accepted. The display screen shows the fare, the remaining number of trips, the date and time of successful validation.
Red indicator: validation was rejected, payment not accepted.
The display screen shows textual information indicating the reason for the validation rejection:
- ● There is no balance on the transport card to pay for the fare;
- ● The card is blocked.

1. Press the lower right button (i) on the validator – “Information” . The display screen will show text information about further actions.
2. Attach the card to the validator. The balance information will be displayed on the screen. For each of them, the name and expiration date of the tariff plan are displayed.
Activation (crediting) of tariffs on the transport card
ATTENTION! The payment is processed by the supplier within 24 hours. The payment must be activated within 15 days, if the activation is not completed within 15 days, the payment is automatically blocked by the system and the payment can be restored by submitting a written application to the Central Cashier.
To activate (enroll) tariffs on the validator:
- Swipe the card to the reader of the validator or console (travel recorder).
- Hold the card 3 to 5 seconds.
✓ Note: At this time, data is transferred to the passenger’s transport card and the purchased fare is recorded.
✓ Note: For correct data exchange, the card must be applied parallel to the reader plane.
Possible informational messages on the display of the validator or console during the activation (crediting) of the purchased tariffs:
“Replenishment, Ok” – the message means that the tariff has been successfully loaded onto the transport card
“There are no valid tariffs” – the message means that the tariff for this card is not loaded.
The main reason is that the bus driver did not properly close / open the shift, and therefore, the on-board equipment (travel recorders) did not receive updated data on the sale of the fare to the passenger card.
To activate (credit) tariffs on the driver’s console:
- Swipe the card to the validator reader (travel recorder).
- Hold the card 3 to 5 seconds.
✓ Note: At this time, data is transferred to the passenger’s transport card and the purchased fare is recorded.
✓ Note: For correct data exchange, the card must be applied parallel to the plane of the reader.
Possible informational messages on the validator’s display during the activation (crediting) of the purchased tariffs:
“Replenishment, OK” – the message means that the tariff has been successfully loaded onto the transport card.
“There are no valid tariffs” – the message means that the tariff for this card is not loaded. The main reason is that the bus driver did not properly close / open the shift, and therefore, the on-board equipment (travel recorders) did not receive updated data on the sale of the fare to the passenger card.
To activate (credit) the purchased tariff for RTVM vending machine, place your transport card in the “V”-shaped tray for 3-5 seconds
✓ Note: At this time, data is being transferred from the machine’s RTVM to the user’s transport card and the purchased fare is recorded.
Possible informational messages on the RTVM screen of the vending machine during the activation (crediting) of the purchased tariffs:
“Balance replenished” – the message means that the tariff has been successfully written to the transport card.
