Divine Ideal

Although everything created by God bore the seal of perfection and beauty; although it seemed
that there was no lack of anything on earth that could make Adam and.
Eve – yet God showed them His great love, planting specially for them
Garden of Eden. Part of their time they devoted to joyful activities in the garden,
the other part – receiving guests – angels and listening to their instructions, as well as in
happy, joyful reflection. Their work was not tedious, but pleasant
and encouraging. This beautiful garden was in the fullest sense of the word their home, their special

What conditions of life did the Eternal God choose for His Son? – secluded house
among the hills of Galilee; simple, honest family work, simple life; daily
struggle with difficulties and hardships, self-sacrifice, thrift, patience,
but joyful service; studying the Holy Scriptures with mother; quiet hours
dawn and dusk of the day among the verdant valleys; the sacred lessons of nature; study of
creation and providence of God; [95] fellowship with God – these are the conditions under which
and opportunity flowed through the early days of Jesus’ life. -SI 365, 366′(1905).

Far From the Cities

Leave the cities as soon as possible, buy a small piece of land where you can
plant a garden where your children can watch flowers grow and learn from
simplicity and purity. -IV 2, 356 (1903).

Leave the cities, that is my message at this time. Be sure it’s certain
a call to our people – to settle away from big cities. One look at
San Francisco as it is today should already speak to your inquisitive
mind, showing you the need to leave the city. nine0044

The Lord calls upon His people to settle far from the cities, for at the hour which
don’t think; fire and brimstone will fall from heaven on these cities. Retribution will visit them
proportional to their sins. When one city is destroyed, let our people not consider
this question lightly, believing that if they were given favorable opportunities,
they will build houses for themselves in the same ruined city…

Let all who wish to understand the meaning of these truths read the 11th chapter of Revelation.

Work In The Cities – From Outposts

As a nation that keeps the commandments of God, we must leave the cities. Like Enoch
we must work in them, but not live in them. – Ev. 77, 78 (1899).

Work in cities must be done through outposts. The Messenger of God said:
“Aren’t cities supposed to get a warning?” Yes, but not those
that the people of God will live in them – and visiting the cities, our people will warn
of what awaits the earth. -IV. 2,358 (1902).

For several years the Lord gave me special revelations, indicating that
we must not concentrate our work in the cities. Noise and restlessness reigning
in these cities; situation, due to the activities of trade union organizations
and strikes, will serve as a great obstacle in our work. – SC. 7, 84
(1902).

Seeing all the lawlessness spreading among the nations, we should always listen
to the voice of warning and instruction, just as Lot heard this naked
in Sodom. Lot could have saved his family from many evils if he had not lived among
this lawless and corrupt city. All that Lot and his family had in Sodom,
they might have, living at some distance from Sodom.—Ev. 78 (1903).

For the time being, some will be required to work in Chicago, but they must
receive training in centers [97] located in rural areas and from there
plan and carry out work in cities. The Lord wants his people to convert
attention to such humble, unprofessional places as the centers of God’s work.
And over time, they will notice more and more places where they can provide
case for a surprisingly low price. -Ev 402. (1906).

Abundant Blessings in the Natural

We say again: “Get out of the cities!” Don’t take it as a big loss
that you should head for the hills and mountains; seek solitude where you can
study alone with the Lord His will and ways. ..

I insist that our people strive for spirituality in their lives. Christ
already at the door. That is why I say to our people: “Do not consider deprivation what
that you are being called to leave the cities and move to the countryside. There you
abundant blessings await. Contemplating the scenes of nature, the works of our Creator,
as you study the work of God, you will subtly imitate the same pattern.—JSM 2, 355, 356
(nineteen08).

Character Develops Easier Surrounded by Nature

Parents and families rush to cities in the hope of
and an easier life than in the countryside. Children spend after school
their free time on the street and receive a street education.—SC5, 232 (1882).

Send children to schools located in cities where temptations and various things await them.

Cities are full of temptations. We need to plan our work in such a way that

The time has come for our people to remove their families from the big cities to more
secluded places, otherwise many young people and those in their mature years will be confused
in the networks of the enemy. -SC. 8, 101 (1904).

There is not a single family out of a hundred that is physically, mentally and spiritually
became better by settling in the city. Acquire Faith, Hope, Love, Happiness
much better in secluded places where there are fields, hills and trees. Delete your
children from the sights and noise of cities, from the roar of the city, transport, – and their thoughts
become healthier. Then parents can more easily convey the truth to their hearts.

Physical Health – Better in the Countryside

It is not God’s will for His people to settle in cities where there is constant noise
and mess. Children must be protected from this, for the whole life of the city is characterized by
haste, swiftness, and noise, and all this demoralizes the children.—IV2, 357 (1902).

For many city dwellers who do not have a piece of land or green grass, but
constantly, from year to year, looking only at dirty yards, narrow streets, stone
buildings, pavements, covered with dust, instead of the sky – thick clouds of burning and smoke;
spacious country plains, forests, hills, babbling streams, pure blue
heaven, – all this would seem to be the threshold of paradise on earth. -SI 191, 192 (1905).

The outer environment of cities often serves as a serious threat to health. Here
always in danger of some disease; bad air, polluted
water, poor quality food – all this is only a part of those unfavorable conditions,
which are encountered here. God did not originally intend
so that people gather in cities, among multi-storey buildings and apartments. – SI 365
(1905).

Provide Yourself with Your Products

The Lord wants His people to move to the countryside where they can
have a piece of land, grow their own fruits and vegetables, and where their children can directly
to get acquainted with the actions of God in nature. Move your families out of the cities
here is my message. – IV 2, 357, 358 (1902).

Berry Springs, Michigan

I’ve heard of some people thinking of locating a school in Berry Springs in the Southwest
Michigan. I quite liked the description of this place… In a place like
Berry Springs School can be an object lesson and I hope that

The good hand of our Lord was with our people in choosing a place for the school.
This place [103] corresponds to the ideas given to me where
school. It should be located away from cities, have a large plot of land
for agricultural purposes and have enough space for houses under construction
were not close to each other. This area is sufficient for learning

In relocating the college from Battle Creek and establishing it in Berry Springs, the brothers
Magan and Sutherland acted in accordance with the light received from God. They toiled

Stonyham, Massachusetts

The Lord in His Providence opened a way for His workers – a way of advancement
to New England, a field where a great special work is to be done. Brothers
were able to agree on a change in the place of the sanatorium – from South Lancaster to Melrose,
an area closer to Boston and at the same time quite remote from
noisy city to such an extent that patients can have the most favorable
conditions for better health. Translation of the New England Sanitarium to such a convenient
place – the city of Boston, is truly God’s providence. nine0044

We needed a special location for our school and sanitarium – that’s all

It had enough space for a school and a sanatorium, without a cluster of institutions.
The air and water in that place are clean. A beautiful stream flows right through our lot
— from North to South. This stream is a more valuable treasure than gold or
silver. The buildings are located on beautiful hills with excellent drainage.

One day we took a long trip through various parts of Takoma Park.
Most of the city is occupied by natural forests. Large houses close by
apart, but spacious and comfortable. They are surrounded by pines, oaks, maples
and other beautiful trees. The owners of these houses, mostly business

daily go to the city to work, and in the evening return to their calm

is to locate our institutions closer to Nashville, which

We thank the Lord that we have a good sanitarium in Paradise Valley, ten
kilometers from San Diego; sanatoriums Glendale 12 kilometers from Los Angeles;
and a large beautiful area in Loma Linda, about 100 kilometers east
from Los Angeles and closer to Redlands, [107] Riversay and San Bernardino. Loma Linda
– one of the most beautiful sanatoriums I have ever seen. – Vesti Loma
Linda 41(1905).

Loma Linda – a place that the Lord has specially intended – to be the center
for the training of medical missionaries.- P 188 (1907).

Loma Linda is a place of marvelous benefits and if the students here are faithful
take all these advantages to become true medical missionaries,
the light they receive will naturally shine on all around them. We need daily
seek God so that His wisdom may be imparted to us. -P 374 (1907).

Here we have ideal opportunities for schools and sanatoriums – advantages for
students and great benefits for patients. I have been instructed that
there must be a school operating on the principle of the ancient schools of the prophets… Here
physicians receive their education.-MS 75, 76 (1907).

Angwin, CA

When I think about this property, it is superior to all others in many ways.
There could not be [108] a better place for a school, 12 kilometers from Svyataya
Helena, free from all city temptations.
