Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.

Period: 16 weeks, 2016
City, school: Miami, OHLA
Course: Intensive English 28 lessons per week
My wife and I set ourselves the goal of bringing our level of English to a decent intermediate level. Therefore, we chose an intensive program in the USA for 16 weeks. The program of one level is designed for 12 weeks. There are 16 lessons (units) in the textbook, which take place in 12 weeks. The best time to start classes for those who plan to study for 12 weeks or more is to get in the first week. We got closer to the end and taught 12-16 units, then 1-11. After we moved to the next level and started again with unit 12. In general, this is not very convenient. But, we could not arrive on the dates of the first unit. The curriculum involves the use of an audio lab. To be honest, doing everything, it takes about 2 hours a day and is very useful. Thus, we successfully unlearned and actually got from the level of Elementary to the average Intermediate. A little about the school itself. I liked the teachers, as well as the approaches to learning. The school building is located in the Brikel business district, so if you are interested in beaches, then you will need to drive min. 30 by car to them.
