Undergraduate admission to UO

Undergraduate admission is based on the results of entrance examinations. At the same time, your GPA must be at least 3. Before submitting documents to the university, applicants take an exam for knowledge of the English language. The university accepts IELTS or TOEFL results. IELTS score not lower than 7. UO Masters Admissions

1 Alton Baker Park

Alton Baker Park

The trembling Willamette River separates Eugene from neighboring Springfield. Along its banks, visitors can explore bike trails and other recreational areas at Alton Baker Park – the city’s largest park . Paved paths extend beyond the park with bike bridges connecting trails on both sides of the river. It’s been a little over four miles, Pre-Trail is a popular cross-country and running route in a city known for its athletics. Willamette itself is also a draw as a nationally marked water trail popular with kayakers.

2 Jordan Museum of Art Schnitzer

Created without windows to protect the treasures inside, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Oregon State University in Eugene has an extensive collection of American, European, Korean, Chinese and Japanese art. The museum opened in 1933 and has expanded significantly since then. The emphasis is on Asian art, but also includes the great Pacific Northwest – including Oregonian and European artists. Samples of specimens from the permanent collection, items on loan or traveling exhibitions are changed.

The building was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence, one-time Dean of the School of Architecture and Allied Arts at Oregon State University. It has fine brickwork and an iron grill and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

3 Hult Performing Arts Center

At the heart of Eugene’s rich cultural scene since 1982 is the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. All kinds of entertainment can be found here all year round, from jazz to opera. Resident companies that call home include the Eugene Ballet Company, the Southern Concert Choir, Eugene Opera , and the Eugene Symphony.

In addition to performing arts, the Center also has collections of permanent and temporary art that can be viewed throughout the building. Some of the permanent installations include a house curtain for Silva Concert Hall and various sculptures found in all mezzanine and lower levels of the balcony.

Acting rain or shine every Saturday between April and mid-November, the Saturday market is one of the best places to gather the community in the city. Uniting Local artisan crafts, live music and internationally inspired food , Saturday Market brings together Eugene’s many tastes and styles. It is located in the city center, often surrounded by other city events, and is a great starting point for cultural weekends spent exploring the city. For Local Farm Products Lane County Farmers Market can be found across the street from Saturday Market.

5 Cascades Raptor Center

Eagles, falcons and hawks would be among the royal feathered inhabitants in the Center of the Cascades Raptor. Open to the public year-round, this non-profit nursing organization brings birds back to health. Visitors can see many resident birds and feel the rehabilitation process. Cascades Raptor Center also locates out and at Site educational programs including guided demonstrations, personal tours and workshops for children. For those who wish to participate in the predator rehabilitation process, volunteer opportunities are available for all levels of interest.

6 Hendrix Park

Rhododendrons thrive in the north -West Pacific (indeed, it is the state flower of the state of Washington). This rhododendron garden in Eugene offers an equally suitable climate for the flowering evergreen shrubs that flourished in this local park favorite. About 80 acres of the park also features undulating hiking trails, woody Douglas firs, and native plant varieties. Spring is the peak season for rhododendrons. In addition to the extensive Rhododendron garden Oak Knoll Trail is a favorite to explore, including the extensive views found at its break.
