Jacek started his sailing career quite young at the age of 8. As a junior he beat Optimists, Lasers, 420s and FJs. As he got older, he went on a cruise because of his father, who was in the yacht brokerage industry. Together, as a family, they cruised the GolfNar 41 Ketch throughout Florida. His knowledge of the Caribbean expanded while he worked in the Virgin Islands, directing publications for 10.

Jacek then became a sailing instructor and climbed the ladder to the regional operative at the sailing school. While working at a sailing school, he taught many courses in the Virgin Islands. He has spent the last 10 years traveling around the islands.

He finally made the jump and moved to the Caribbean in 2016. Using his intimate impressions of the Virgin Islands and local hotspots, Jacek delivers a wonderfully managed sailing experience.

Jacek is PADI certified and speaks Polish, Spanish and English.

Maya’s love of water and food stems from her growing up in the Mediterranean. After living for 14 years in beautiful (but landlocked) Utah, she finally decided to return to her aquatic roots and moved to the Caribbean.

Pursuing her dream, she moved to USVI in 2014 and has been a yacht chef ever since. Her hobbies include cooking, literature, travel and music. Maya believes that there is nothing better than gathering friends over plates of delicious food and seeing them smile and enjoy as they eat, talk and relax at the table. Her favorite cuisine is Mediterranean, but she loves to try new things. Over the years Maya has developed strong ties with local farmers, fishermen and food producers on the islands and can guarantee the freshest ingredients in her galley. She strives for local, fresh, seasonal and sustainable when creating her menus, and also offers gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.

Jacek and Maja met when a friend asked them to go scuba diving at Devine Sailing a Saba 2016 in January 50. Their shared passion for sailing, travel, music and food made them fall in love with each other. Jacek was working on Loveboat, Lagoon 440 at the time, and convinced Maya to join him on board as chef. Their year on the Loveboat was “exciting and new”, and together they really honed their skills to give guests an unforgettable experience. They spent two seasons on the Loveboat before jumping to Sta Ana in May 2018. In their free time, Jacek and Maya enjoy traveling the world and exploring new places, listening to some tunes, diving and snorkeling, cooking together and doing each other. laughter.
