BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
Owner & Founder, Massage Therapy Business
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire RevLocal, and what were your goals?
Hired RevLocal to increase Local Search Ranking. They claimed their strategies would help build real results by the time our 6 month agreement would end.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
A Digital Marketing Agent arrived at my office on an off day and reached out to me via phone call. That’s how discussions came about utilizing them to help market my business. He claimed they really specialized In helping local small business which gave me confidence.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
Honestly, they utilize a pyramid graph to communicate and show you their results, percentages and analytics. In terms of what they did, the project steps and marketing tools were unknown to me.
How many resources from the vendor’s team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two Resources: In person I met with a Digital Marketing Agent two times and we spoke on the phone maybe 2 or 3 times. I never met with the Local Search Strategist in person, we spoke on the phone 4-5 times. Email apparently was the best course of communication for her so that’s primarily how are discussions or conversations took place. She was the only one I truly spoke with.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Before I hired RevLocal I averaged anywhere from 3-5 new clients a month. I hoped to double that by the time my 6 month agreement ended and then I would reevaluate whether to continue using their marketing team or not. Unfortunately those numbers didn’t increase because their strategies didn’t work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I had a conference call once a month with the Local Search Strategist to go over ideas and strategies. The discussions we had never included what her or her team actually did or what their actual strategy was. Our phone calls always tended to end with something that I needed to do to help improve my rankings (Google or Facebook posts, upload pictures). I assume because whatever they were doing wasn’t effective or efficient enough.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
NA
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The strategist and consultant I worked with were non existent. I truly believe the consultant was new and inexperienced and the strategist was completely unaware of or lacked any knowledge at all in how to improve the strategies because nothing was working. Just a total lack of effort and concern. Not sure what can be done there, but a lot of improvement for sure. What else can I truly say when I have paid $3500.00 in 6 months to a company that didn’t help broaden my business?

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire RevLocal, and what were your goals?
I hired Rev Local to grow my local and organic search awareness.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Matt had reached out to me, seeing that I was a new business in the area. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable in what he was explaining. The other deciding factor was that he was actually a local person from the area.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
A landing page was created for my business as well as optimizing my google my business page. They also search ads to be run. I was kept up to date on the performance of what we were doing through their analytics program and monthly calls with the strategist to discuss what was working well, and what we should look at changing. I was also given “homework” to focus on such as strategies and best practices to ask patients for google reviews and social media posting.
How many resources from the vendor’s team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with Matt who my local rep, and Hanna, who was the strategist.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Being a brand new business, the results were slow to start, but after a couple months, I began noticing more calls from people who found me through local google searches. Matt was also able to get the listings of chiropractors that were no longer in business in the area, removed from google maps, which was fantastic. The ad spend received on average 11,000-12,000 impressions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The work flow was very convenient. I am a single member business, and having direct contact with both Matt and Hanna was fantastic. If I wanted any changes or had any questions, they were answered nearly immediately with a quick phone call or email.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The most impressive quality I felt, was that they seemed genuinely vested in the results I was getting. They were honest if something was not working, and offered ideas to change up the strategy. Also, the ease of direct communication with both Matt and Hanna was outstanding. There were no automated phone calls and no wait times if I needed to contact them about something. I was just a small start up, with a small budget, but I felt like I was treated as well as a large company investing thousands of dollars into their marketing. Matt is also tremendous with thinking of his clients and personally connecting them together if he felt it would be worth introducing them. He made me countless valuable connections in the community, and I can’t say enough how grateful I am for that.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I honestly don’t know enough about digital marketing to know what they could have done better/different. I just know that the personal interactions and feeling like Matt, Hanna, and their team genuinely cared, was more than I could have ever expected.

I am a franchise owner in Holly Springs, and have enjoyed working with Nick and Matt. We are already breaking sales records after 3 months of working together. With their programs in place, I don’t spend time chasing leads, they just come to me. If you are a small business owner, let them handle the marketing for you and make your life easier. They allow you to work smarter, not harder.

Matt and RevLocal are amazing!
Matt and RevLocal have done an awesome job with us, finding experts with experience in our industry, and really showing us the best way to improve and perfect our digital marketing for our brand-new restaurant. I spent a year and a half with them and watched our numbers grow and grow. They are affordable, helpful and responsive. Even when I had to pause services with them, they were easy to work with and quickly processed the cancellation. Great company!

Hanna (my strategist) and Matt (my local rep) are absolutely fantastic to work with. Normally I’m skeptical when somebody calls me about digital marketing, but Matt was local and talked to me like an actual person. He was willing to spend his time to meet up just to share information about organic and local search rankings online for my specific business. There was no pushy or pressured sale, he laid out all the options and explained how he would be able to help. On top of that, he went well beyond sharing digital marketing information and connected me with other business owners in the area that could be of benefit from meeting each other. 100% recommend Matt and his team! Three months in and I’m glad I took the plunge – RevLocal’s got my back and I’m glad I found them!

How Much Are Online Reviews Actually Worth? | by RevLocal
I know you know that online reviews are important for your business, but do you know how much they’re really worth?
Not only do a huge 97 percent of consumers read online reviews, but they trust reviews as much as recommendations from friends and family. To have a fighting chance in today’s digital world, your business needs to be consistently getting new reviews.
Still, we found in a recent survey that only 36 percent of small businesses invest in review marketing. Seems counterproductive, right?
Reviews can also boost sales and SEO, leading to a higher search ranking, since reviews are social proof (social proof is the idea that if others like your business then it’s safe for me to like it — everyone else is doing it, right?).
And consumers take reviews very, very seriously. Check out these stats from Nielsen:
- 82 percent of consumers go to review sites because they want to buy a service or product
- 89 percent make a purchase within a week of visiting review sites and 29 percent will do so within a day
So if someone is reading your reviews, they probably want to make a purchase, but where do consumers leave and read reviews?
Well, that depends on where your business is listed.
There are many review sites that your business may be listed on (without even knowing it) and the most important review platform varies by business and industry.
While you probably don’t have the time to devote to in-depth research about every single review site out there, you can search Google for your industry + reviews + location. For instance, if your business is a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, search “restaurant reviews Columbus OH”.
The results of this search will show you which sites your competitors use, so make sure your business is there too.
Not that we recommend raising prices just because you have recently received a few good reviews, but a Cornell University study found that a hotel can raise its prices by about 11 percent for every one-point increase in its star rating (without losing customers).
Consumers are also likely to spend 31 percent more on a business with excellent reviews, and a whopping 92 percent will use a local business if it has at least a four-star rating.
The big contenders for reviews, though, are Google and Yelp (though this will vary by industry and this doesn’t mean you should neglect industry-specific review sites).
Let’s look at how much reviews are worth on each platform.
While both are important for small businesses, studies say Google is more important for reviews than Yelp. Google is the biggest search engine in the world (accounting for around 64 percent of all searches worldwide) and when potential customers search Google for local businesses, reviews and star ratings show up.
Google was also found to be the most important review site for purchase decisions, and consumers are 38 percent more likely to visit and 29 percent more likely to consider buying from a business with a complete Google My Business page.
Besides, when someone Googles your business, they’ll see Google reviews in your listing.
Reviews on Google can also increase your click-through rates. In fact, 56 percent of searchers will choose to click on a business’s listing just because it has a good star rating or positive reviews (even if it isn’t the top result).
And, according to a Harvard Business Review study, a large percentage of local searches ended with a purchase (78 percent on mobile, 64 percent on tablet/laptop, and 61 percent on PC).
So, positive reviews on Google can help you get more clicks and improve sales!
People love to hate it, but don’t underestimate the power of Yelp for local businesses. With more than 127 million reviews, Yelp is the godfather of online review platforms, and good reviews on Yelp can do a lot for your local business.
Increasing your overall Yelp rating by one star can lead to a 5–9 percent boost in revenue. And 98 percent of Yelpers have made a purchase from a business they found on Yelp, so make sure you’ve claimed your Yelp business page.
Reviews on Facebook can have a huge impact on your business’s sales. Facebook influences more than half of users’ purchase decisions, and 80 percent of consumers are more likely to trust a local business if it has positive Facebook reviews.
Since 74 percent of people use Facebook to find more information about businesses, those reviews are extremely important.
Putting reviews on product pages is the way to go. Not only has it been proven to increase review volume by 324 percent, but it can also increase product coverage as well as website traffic and conversions.
In fact, more reviews will give you more conversions:
- Just one review can boost conversions by 10 percent
- At 100 reviews, your conversion rate could be boosted by as much as 37 percent
- At 200 reviews, this rate could rise by a shocking 44 percent
Negative reviews are tricky. On one hand, one negative review can damage your business. On the other hand, consumers don’t always trust a business’s reviews if they’re all positive.
Still, negative reviews do come at a cost. They can cause four out of five consumers to reverse purchase decisions.
So that potential customer might be ready to buy until they read a few negative reviews, at which point they will simply walk away. Additionally, one bad Yelp review can cost your business 30 customers, and bad reviews in Google search results can cause you to lose 70 percent of those potential customers.
However, if you fix the problem, you can turn the bad experience (and possibly that bad review they left for the world to see) around.
When businesses respond to unhappy customers (and actually resolve the problem) that customer is much (70 percent!) more likely to use the business again.
All you have to do is respond, apologize, and genuinely try to make it right. Not sure how to make it right? Check out this article about why unhappy customers leave negative reviews and this one about how to reply to every type of review.

not enough lifetime glory. Handsome young men, muscular, athletic, graceful Komsomol members who came “for potatoes” (the Art Theater represents a new generation of artists here). A painful time of idleness and boring work. They freeze, it is dreary for them to mediocrely waste their youth. They are the metropolitan elite, around them are locals. There is class animosity between them. The playwright studies in this play the motif of the birth of a jubilant beast in man. This is a deep psychological experiment, a manual for the study of personality in a team: as in a kind, beautiful, graceful person, vice and aggression are generated.
The resurrection of interest in the Soviet-era playwright Alexander Remez is the duty of the Art Theatre. At 19In the 1980s, his play The Way, directed by Valery Sarkisov, was a success at the Moscow Art Theater – a very non-canonical, subtle performance about Vladimir Lenin’s brother Alexander. This performance was the debut for Dmitry Brusnikin. The name of Remez for the Art Theater is dear, close.

What do the regions think about the local government reform 2022? Feedback from regional parliaments
At the state level, the situation around the discussion of the reform of local self-government has developed very deplorably – yesterday the deadline for submitting comments on the Draft Law No. 40361-8 “On the general principles of organizing local self-government in a single system of public authority” expired for regional parliaments.
Of the 85 regions of our vast country, only 6 subjects of the federation submitted their feedback. Quite expectedly, all these regions supported the concept of the reform.
But even out of these 6 regional parliaments, only 2 came up to the analysis of the draft law.
The remaining four regions – the republics of Tatarstan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Yakutia, as well as the Volgograd region – simply and uncomplicatedly supported the bill, they were not embarrassed by any errors in the text of the bill, or understatement, or a radical change in the current system of local government.
Two other comments – from the Duma of the Stavropol Territory, as well as from the Legislative Assembly of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug – tried to briefly but succinctly describe the problems and questions to the bill.
The Stavropol Territory pointed to, perhaps, not the best idea of the legislator – the rejection of a single article with concepts, as a result, the concepts used for terms should be found in special articles that are devoted to certain institutions.
In addition, he emphasized the problem related to how municipalities will be formed according to the ratio of rural and urban settlements.
Also mentioned are possible problems due to the liquidation of village councils, since in some cases the inhabitants of rural areas receive state support.
Further, the Stavropol deputies noted the problem that exists today, if it is necessary to exercise the powers of the head of the municipality due to his temporary absence.
The bill provides for the possibility of assigning such powers to deputies, municipal employees, etc.
To which it is quite correctly noted that in municipalities there are special officials – deputy heads, why unnecessarily produce other persons who can perform the duties of the head of the municipality?
Acting as a non-deputy head is relevant for small municipalities – rural settlements, where in some cases there were no deputies, however, due to the elimination of this level of local self-government, the problem is solved by itself.
Concluding its review, the Duma of the Stavropol Territory wrote about the problems associated with the application of measures of responsibility to the heads of municipalities for non-compliance with anti-corruption restrictions – the submission of false or incomplete information about income.
Also noted is the ambiguity of the law in that part, when it is indicated that the head of the administration leads the administration on the principle of unity of command, but at the same time the administration is a collegial body of local self-government.
Let’s see how the federal legislator will react to these remarks.
The second substantive response came, as we have already written, from the Legislative Assembly of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the fate of local self-government seems to be not indifferent to these two subjects of the federation.
At the beginning of the recall, the problem that still exists today is related to the registration of official symbols of municipalities. Neither the procedure nor the grounds for such registration are currently prescribed in the legislation, but the legislator stubbornly refers the reader to some legislation on this issue.
Further, the problem of the new “dual status” of the head of the municipality is noted, when he will be both the person replacing the municipal position and also the person replacing the state position of the subject.
The legislator did not write anything in the draft law about how this “chimera” should work; as it turns out, the Legislative Assembly of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug did not understand the legislator’s intention either.
Next, the emphasis is on legal and technical errors and inaccuracies, when the legislator says that there is an exception to the general rule, which is established there, but in the end, this exception does not exist, and where it disappeared is not yet known.
The question was also raised, which their Stavropol colleagues also spoke about – how should the administration work when it consists of territorial branches, if it is a collegial body?
After all, a collegiate body should make decisions in a coordinated way – after listening to the opinion of all its participants.
However, according to the meaning of “territorial administration bodies”, their chiefs should not sit in the administrative center of the municipality, but as close as possible to the population, in its remote territories.
As a result, it is not clear how this boss should be in two, three or four places at the same time, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
Also, a problem was noted related to the new configuration of the powers of municipalities – it is assumed that there will be powers that are always resolved only by municipalities (issues of direct livelihood of the population) and the so-called “redistributed powers” in the draft law.
With regard to the latter, it is assumed that they are implemented by the subject of the federation as a general rule, or that these powers are delegated to the level of municipalities by a special regional law.
However, who is ultimately obliged to finance these powers in each of the cases? Can the region transfer these powers to the municipalities without providing the latter with finances? The legislator did not answer.
Further, there are remarks that the text of the draft law contradicts the current legislation, including the law on public authority in the regions, adopted just a month ago.
In conclusion, questions were raised about individual point adjustments and changes and inaccuracies within the text of the bill itself.
The important issue of how the new law on local self-government will come into force and the old one will become invalid is also raised.
A very cunning formula about the partial termination of the old law will lead to the fact that we will have two laws on local self-government at the same time. Should it be like this?
As a result, the reform of local self-government actually passes by the regional level of the “unified system of public authority”, the regions are not interested in the idea of discussing the reform of local self-government.
In fairness, it should be noted that the Federal Law of December 21, 2021 No. 414-FZ “On the General Principles of Organization of Public Power in the Subjects of the Russian Federation” collected a little more feedback – 15 subjects of the Federation spoke about that bill.
