The total volume of loans issued to Russians reached ₽10.7 trillion in the second quarter. Of these, loans for ₽900 billion are problem loans. About 60% of loans were received by borrowers who spend more than 50% of their income on debt servicing. The Central Bank believes that in the medium term the number of problem loans will increase, as banks issue a lot of loans, and the level of debt burden of Russians is high.

According to a survey by the Russian Agricultural Bank, excluding mortgages, the most popular loan product among Russians is consumer cash loans. It is most actively used by representatives of Generation X, who are now 40 to 56 years old — 38% of respondents.
