What Makes Us Special?

Since 1998 Community Montessori School has provided an authentic, multi-age environment closely following the time tested philosophy set out by Dr. Montessori over 100 years ago. Our low ratio program and low staff turn over means that your child enjoys a consistent, attentive experience. Children enjoy a beautiful “oasis in the desert” that allows for an outdoor classroom as well as abundant opportunity for exploration and discovery.

In addition to our beautiful traditional Montessori materials,  we keep pace with curious young minds by rotating our cultural lessons monthly. Age appropriate cultural lessons in geography, science, and virtues provide a well rounded education beyond the “basics”. Our peaceful classroom provides a safe, warm, homelike atmosphere. We truly “follow the child”, starting as young as two years old, by providing a wealth of choice within structure. Adhering to the philosophy of a multi-age classroom provides invaluable peer support and mimics a family dynamic. This aides in development as well, allowing these burgeoning learners to develop a true love of knowledge and study that will serve them well into the rest of their lives.

Saint Theresa Little Flower Preschool has a professional staff that plans a meaningful, child-centered curriculum using the Diocese of Phoenix Preschool Curriculum Guide and the Arizona Early Learning Standards as resources.

 
 
Daily activities are planned that encourage cognitive, social/emotional, spiritual, language/literacy, small muscle, and large muscle development.

• Language and Literacy – develop early reading, writing and verbal skills while enjoying classic stories and parables of Christ’s life through creative lessons and activities that enable the child to share their world with others   
   

• Mathematics – develop cognitive skills through classification, comparison, positional relationships, quantities, sequencing, one-to-one correspondence, volume and time
   

• Personal – Social Development – learn skills to help the child relate to his/her world through positive interactions with others and establish personal autonomy through developing self-care and cooperative play skills
   

• Social Studies – experience a sense of belonging to a community of Catholic faith. Learn respect and care for self, all others and the world God has gifted us with.
   

• Science – observe and examine the wonder of God’s creations through senses that are used to discover and experience, which promotes questions and exploration

• Creative Art Experiences – develop fine motor skills through joyful, creative activities of self-expression with a variety of art materials including paper, fabric, paint, scissors, glue, clay, pencils, markers and crayons
   

• Music – appreciate music through learning songs and prayer filled hymns by listening, singing, dancing and movement, rhythm skills and instruments
   

• Physical Education – develop large motor skills through physical activities that promote health, wellness, and cooperation with others

Kindergarten at Phoenix School

The mixed-age preschool group ANO secondary school “Phoenix” is located at: Moscow; st. Tallinnskaya d12 building 5.
The preschool group is the preschool stage of education. The group consists of children aged 4.5 to 7 years.
The group works in the “full day” mode, in accordance with the norms of a preschool institution.
In the process of upbringing and education, children are divided into subgroups: by age; by level of training; individual programs of education and training are also used. nine0003
A speech therapist and a psychologist constantly work with children.
The group is of different ages, which preserves the most close to “family” relations between children. For educators, of course, this creates some difficulties in organizing the learning process, but they are solved by dividing children into subgroups. The possibility of close communication of children of different ages helps the development of the emotional-sensual sphere of the child.
