Tragedy at McMartin Kindergarten – I’ve Seen It All – About Truth and Memory – How to Improve Memory – Medkurs.

ru Angeles. Until 1984, he was little known to the general public. In that year, Manhattan Beach and its inhabitants became the center of legal proceedings and a wonderful source of sensational information for newspapers. These events affected the lives of many people, cost millions of dollars and caused great harm to all who were involved in them.

The central figure in this tragic story was Virginia McMartin, a wheelchair-bound 77-year-old grandmother. There was nothing like a high priestess of a satanic cult torturing small children.

Yet in 1984, the District Attorney of Southern California filed charges against Mrs. McMartin, her daughter Peggy McMartin Bucky, her grandchildren Peggy Ann Bucky and Raymond Bucky, and three teachers at the Manhattan Beach Preschool.

The allegations against kindergarten management and teachers were such that they would make anyone’s heart ache and those with small children would panic.

The District Attorney alleged that children at McMartin Preschool were sexually abused and bullied and that McMartin and her employees belonged to a Satanic cult that performed its rituals at the kindergarten, involving young children and sacrificing animals.

The case was initiated by the mother of a 2.5-year-old boy who attended this kindergarten. The child’s mother claimed that her son had been sexually harassed and reported her suspicions to the local police.

Police and DA investigators, along with professional psychologists, interviewed a little boy and other children at McMartin Day Care. Using special dolls, the anatomical structure of which corresponded to that of a human, they asked the children to describe what happened in the kindergarten and to demonstrate on the dolls the actions that the educators performed or forced the children to perform.

After hearing the stories told by these children and prompted by “professional investigators”, the authorities took up the accusations in a fright. The preschool was closed, Virginia McMartin, the Bucky family, kindergarten teachers were arrested, and the wheel of justice began to turn. About 52 charges were brought against the defendants. The country was shocked by the terrible details of this atrocity, and suddenly similar stories began to occur everywhere. Reports of Satanist sects and massive child abuse came from major cities and small towns across the country. Entire cities and districts were seething with accusations against teachers and social workers. Did this mean that the sects of Satanists covered the whole country with their terrible network?

The further the McMartin case progressed, the longer and harder the prosecution worked to prove the charges against them, the more difficult it became. Frightening stories did not find concrete confirmation in the slightest. And since the witnesses who were also victims of the crimes being investigated were small children, whose testimony was strongly influenced by adult investigators, a serious question arose as to how reliable these testimony could be.

Interesting facts

Children, in particular, claimed that there was a network of tunnels under the kindergarten leading to a secret room where terrible things happened. For some reason, this fact was not verified during the trial. After the trial, all the ground around the kindergarten was dug up, all the walls and floors of the kindergarten building were checked. There were no tunnels.

By 1986, all charges against the elder Mrs. McMartin, her granddaughter Peggy Ann Bucky, and the kindergarten teachers were dropped. However, prosecutors continued to press charges against Peggy McMartin Bucky and her son Raymond Bucky. They were accused of multiple child abuse cases over a five year period.

In 1990, Peggy McMartin Bucky was acquitted on all counts. Her son was acquitted of 40 counts, although the court was deadlocked on some other counts. Another composition of the court was convened, and another trial was held, at the end of which the court could not decide on eight counts. Eventually they were taken down.

This case dragged on for seven years. Los Angeles County spent $13 million on him, resulting in no one being convicted at all. All that this trial has achieved is ruined the lives of the accused. McMartin Kindergarten was closed and never reopened. The accused were ruined, they could no longer do their job. They had no choice but to simply live out their days, as their reputation was forever tarnished. Once such horrific suspicions arose, it was impossible to completely get rid of them.

Remember this!

The wave of unfounded accusations against preschool institutions, caused by the incompetence of those who conducted the investigation, the excessive zeal of prosecutors and the fear of the public, is only now beginning to subside. The experiments you can read about in this chapter and in Chapter 13, Amazing Memory, show that children’s memories can be easily manipulated.

Interesting Facts

In 1997, Mark Pendergast compared the outbreak of accusations of belonging to satanic cults to a medieval witch hunt in Europe. He pointed out that: “Many ‘witches’ admitted the most ridiculous accusations … They invented consistent and detailed stories about the orgies in which they took part, about the children they roasted and ate. Young girls described the horrific details of how the Devil deprived them of their innocence, although the examination showed that they were virgins.

After all, while there was no evidence that these people had committed all the heinous crimes they were accused of, there was no evidence that they hadn’t, right? Of course, it is almost impossible to disprove something that did not exist.

And what about the children who told all these terrifying stories? They will go through life, remembering, if not the alleged events themselves, then this case. Years later, they themselves will wonder what happened in this small kindergarten on the ocean.

Almost certainly nothing happened there.

How could a series of terrible events like those that happened in Manhattan Beach happen? We will explain it briefly. Let’s go back to the origins of the McMartin case for a moment. Remember the baby’s mother who first contacted the Manhattan Beach police in 1983? What happened to her? And why did she have the suspicions that she first reported? Yes, later it turned out that the poor woman had long suffered from a mental disorder. The whole thing almost certainly originated in the diseased brain of this woman.

There was a previous post about Brooklyn here. Today we are heading to the south of Brooklyn, to Brighton Beach.

1. Many Russian artists perform here, I also saw advertisements on buses, for example, of KVN teams.

2.

What Wikipedia tells us:

Brighton Beach is an area located in New York, in the very south of Brooklyn, on the Atlantic Ocean. Another name is Little Odessa. Brighton Beach is bordered by Sheepshead Bay to the north and east along Belt Parkway, Neptune Avenue, Cass Place and East 12th Street, Manhattan Beach to the east along Corbin Place, and Coney Island to the west along Ocean -Parkway.

Gained fame in the USSR since the mid-1970s as a place of compact residence of emigrants from the USSR, mostly Jews from Ukraine and Russia. After the collapse of the USSR, immigrants from the countries of the former USSR began to settle in Brighton Beach. The population, according to data for 2010, is 23,431 inhabitants. Many residents do not enter into leases and do not participate in the census, so in reality the number of people living in Brighton Beach can be, according to various estimates, from 70 to 80 thousand. The population density is 1.5 times higher than the average for Brooklyn.

The area is widely known for Russian-speaking companies – restaurants, cafes, concert halls. Many cultural and educational centers of the Russian-speaking Jewish community of New York are located here – radio stations, television studios, newspaper editorial offices, schools and pre-school education institutions, leisure centers, the widest infrastructure of services in Russian.
The area is predominantly built up with 1920s brick tenement houses and 1900-1919 wooden one-story bungalows20s of construction.

3. Kalinka-raspberry.

4. European fashion is fashionable in the States, in Europe they would like to try on American.

5. Names based on female names are popular, either Evgenia or Natasha.

6.

7. It is not clear why write “almaz” if the rest is in Russian, and this is not an English word.

8. Rondezvous – also with an error.

9. I did not expect to see such a store.)

10.

11.

12. Cute snowflake stars.

13. In the previous photo, they call for keeping the beach clean. I can say that I don’t remember the garbage on the beach, apparently they are thrown here.
