Mission:

To provide a wide variety of fun and educational activities in an organized church preschool setting, while promoting learning, cooperation, socialization, and a positive first-school experience.

Curriculum:

Provide children with theme-related and age-appropriate activities in the following areas: chapel, circle time, crafts, science, math, stories, cooking, snacks, music and occasional field trips.

  • Chapel – Chapel time will be held weekly in the sanctuary, focusing on God’s love for us all and the unique place we have in this world as Christians.
  • Circle Time – Group time at the beginning of the day, after manipulatives, is a time to discuss the weather, seasons, calendar, and the theme for the day.
  • Music – Theme-related music, songs and creative movement is included.
  • Science – Age-appropriate activities that stress observation, classification, and use of senses, are introduced.
  • Math – Number and shape recognition, counting skills, and basic math principles (i. e. more or less, sorting, etc.) are introduced.
  • Crafts – Craft time is scheduled each day, using a variety of materials and promoting process over product – at this age the experience of creating is more important than the resulting artwork.
  • Outside Play – Provided every day, except when weather prohibits it.
  • Snack – One healthy snack is provided each day and is theme-related when possible.  Periodically cooking/preparing own snack will be incorporated into the children’s learning. This is fun, pulls together science, math, art (measuring, tasting, feeling, smelling, etc.), and promotes self-confidence.
  • Story Time – Storybooks are read daily and are encouraged to be theme related.  Children are also encouraged to bring books from home to share.
  • Field trips -Several field trips are scheduled during the year.
