Now the girl lives on Austrian soil, where she is absolutely happy. She admits that she receives a lot of questions on social networks about how to get abroad, with whom and where she needs to meet. But Svetlana is sure: there is no specific pill that you can take and end up where you never even dreamed of. “It’s all a matter of chance, fate,” she says.

“My story of acquaintance with Europe began quite by accident. I am an ordinary girl from the provinces, I lived for 17 years in the Kovrov district, the village of Shevinskaya. I went to kindergarten there and studied there. My family lives there, and it is this place that I consider my small homeland. I knew about Europe only from a geography textbook, so I never even dreamed of living somewhere far from home. The story that happened to me, a few years ago, would have seemed to me some kind of incredible and hectic undertaking that has nothing to do with reality and real life.

After finishing school, I moved to Vladimir. I spent the happiest and most unforgettable years of my youth in this city! In the company of friends, we often traveled, and on one of the trips, that very fateful meeting took place. In March 2017, my friend and I went to Georgia. To celebrate my birthday, we decided to escape from the urban part of Tbilisi to a more landscaped part, namely to the mountains, where a group of charming Austrian guys were sitting in the restaurant of the Rooms Hotel Kazbegi, which immediately struck us with their charisma. They were on a business trip. Their work was related to helicopter passenger transportation, so the next day after we met, we already examined the picturesque views of Georgia from a bird’s eye view.

“I started talking to one of the guys. An interpreter helped us to understand each other, I did not know the language. It would seem, what kind of close acquaintance is there … But Eins-zwei – drei (translated as “One, two, three”. – Approx. ed.), And a year and a half later we exchanged rings.

This is how it happens: he is from Austria, she is from Russia, and to find each other, you just had to book rooms in one hotel in Georgia, far in the mountains.

“In August 2019, we got married. The wedding took place in Russia, after which I spent another 4 months at home, completing work and getting a visa. I also changed documents on the spot, since in Austria it is harder, longer and more expensive to do this. And now in December 2019I moved on Christmas Day: with one suitcase, extraordinary fear, tears in my eyes at the airport and anticipation of a new life “in European style”.

“I did not choose a place of residence: I came to where my husband lived. This is the land of Vorarlberg, the westernmost part of Austria, bordering Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
