Master class for educators “Drawings with McLean’s dots” | Educational and methodical material on drawing on the topic:

Master class for educators “Drawings with McLean’s dots”

Relevance: Point, point, comma. This well-known nursery rhyme actually very accurately reflects the very history of the origin of painting on earth. Which, like all great things, began small, p. points. Now dot painting is a very popular trend in art and creativity, known in many countries. Sometimes it is also called “point-to-point” (from the English “point to point”) or “peak painting” (from the French piqu, lit. “quilted”).

Dot painting was first invented by Australian Aborigines over 40,000 years ago, who used the technique to pass on their message of history, way of life, victories and defeats through the generations. Nowadays, we have the opportunity to use this technique and with the help of many dots of different colors and sizes, create our own message, our own interesting patterns and drawings, convey mood and feelings, decorating any surface.

“Drawing is my way of finding my “happy place” in life, and paint is an opportunity to convey all the shades of my soul,” says Australian artist Elspeth McLean about her work. Her work is unusual – the girl decorates ordinary gray stones found on the Pacific coast with cheerful and bright patterns.

Dot painting “Point to dot” today is a very effective, and therefore popular type of decoration. It allows you to decorate almost all objects around – different textures, shapes and made from different materials (fabric, wood, metal, plastic, etc.). Items decorated with it look like embroidery, embossing, and lace at the same time. The dot painting technique is not particularly difficult, therefore, it allows you to create designer interior items that can become a wonderful decoration for your home or a wonderful gift that any person will be pleasantly surprised by.

This type of decoration allows children to get acquainted with the art of dot painting, artistic traditions in this area of art, as well as realize their individual educational and creative artistic and aesthetic needs. For children, this is an ideal exercise – putting down dots to coordinate their actions, the force of pressing on a tube of paint, develops a sense of style, accuracy. Painting classes contribute to the formation and development of the child’s spiritual world, maintaining interest in artistic activity, expanding their horizons and forming moral principles. Dot painting classes develop fine motor skills of hands, coordination of movements, eye; improve personal qualities – abstract thinking, artistic taste, expand and deepen horizons.

Purpose of the master class:

Teaching the participants of the master class how to use artistic dot painting.

Tasks of the Master-class:

• To form ideas about the possibilities of using dot painting with preschool children

• To teach the participants of the master class how to work with acrylics, contours and other materials used in the technique of dot painting.

• Arouse interest and desire among the participants of the master class to use the presented technique in their practice.

Stages of the master class:

• Theoretical part

• Practical part

• Reflection (final).

Tasks implemented in the work with children

• To promote the development of fine motor skills

• To develop the ability of children to independently create a dot pattern

• To promote the development of simple sensory analysis in children

• To promote the development of creative activity.

Methods and techniques:

• Visual – teacher’s demonstration, example, help.

• Verbal – explanation, description, encouragement, persuasion, use of fiction;

• Practical – independent and joint execution of the drawing

OOD structure:

Part 1:

Traditional beginning of the lesson.

Surprise moment (magic bag, riddle, creation of a problem situation)

Part 2:

Finger gymnastics.

Demonstration, explanation of the educator (initial stage of education, child

Independent activity of the child

Part 3: Reflection

Material for work

• acrylic contours (on glass, ceramics, fabrics and other surfaces)

• acetone/alcohol

• cotton pads

• Acrylic varnish

• brush

• pencils

• stencils

Stages of work (spot painting).

1. We degrease the decorated surface with a cotton pad moistened in acetone or alcohol. When working with children, we do this in advance in a well-ventilated area.0003

2. We draw an approximate outline of the drawing with a pencil according to the template or transfer the drawing previously drawn on graph paper with the help of tracing paper onto the surface to be decorated.

3. On the marked lines, evenly pressing on the contour with the selected color, we put dots. We try to keep the same distance between the points and their size.

4. After the main drawing has dried, fill in the free fields with dots of other colors.

5. When the contour is dry, coat the surface with acrylic lacquer using a synthetic brush.

6. After a little drying, the work is ready. It is worth clarifying that the varnished surface must be dried for a day to firmly fix the pattern.

Practical part:

1. Surprise moment (magic bag). To find out what is in the magic bag, you need to solve riddles:

a) If it were not for her

It would be hard to eat.

Nowhere to pour the soup

And put the cutlet. (plate)

b) It burns with fire in mother’s earrings.

In the dust on the road lies unnecessary.

It changes form, it changes color,

And it is good for a thousand years in construction.

It can be small –

lie in the palm of your hand.

Heavy, large –

cannot be lifted alone. (stone)

2. Part

And now let’s check if we guessed the riddles correctly, what lies in the magic bag? Division into companies (they take out one subject each). Everything is correct.

What kind of painted plates, lids and pebbles did you get. Pay attention to how the objects are painted: the drawings are made with small dots! Do you want to learn how to paint like this?

First, let’s stretch our fingers and do gymnastics for them:

Rhyme: “We shared an orange”

We shared an orange, (starting with the little finger, bend all fingers alternately)

There are many of us, but he is alone.

This slice is for the hedgehog,

This slice is for the siskin,

This slice is for ducklings,

This slice is for kittens,

This slice is for the beaver,

And for the wolf, the peel. (show empty palm) He is angry with us, trouble! Run away in all directions. (hide hands behind back)

Music is playing.

Look, guys, in what order we will work:

First, we will practice putting dots on sheets of paper and holding the tube of paint correctly. We open the tube of paint, take the outline like a pen or pencil in a vertical position with the nose down so that the paint flows to the exit, lightly press on the tube and put a dot.

To get a small dot, you need to sharply or quickly raise the contour from the surface.

Put another dot next to it, you need to achieve an even distance between the dots to make it look professional. We move our hand, as if we are tapping Morse code. We make a chain of dots. To make the dots the same, you need to press on the tube with one force, the more we press on the tube, the larger the dot. The weaker, the smaller the point.

When the dots have been mastered and it has begun to turn out, you can start painting the objects that you got.

1) treat the surface of the object with a napkin (degrease the surface to be decorated with a cotton pad soaked in acetone or alcohol. When working with children, we do this in advance).

2) draw an approximate outline of the drawing with a pencil or using a stencil

3) along the marked lines, evenly pressing on the outline with the selected color, put dots

4) when the contour dries, cover the surface with acrylic varnish

3. Summing up the work

Tell us what we did today, what did we do? (one person from each table answers)

Do you like your work? What about other guys’ work?

Was it difficult to do this job?

Guys, you are great!

MASTER CLASS REFLECTION :

• How relevant do you think the topic of my master class is?

• Do you use this technique in your work with children?

• How did the workshop make you feel?

• Were your expectations met?

The head of the American International School in Salzburg arrived at the Novye Veshki residential complex on February 14 to exchange experiences

The management of the Sawatzky Group, represented by the General Director of the representative office in Moscow, Mark Groysman, the Managing Director Gennady Groysman, the Head of the Representative Office in Canada, David Evants, and the director of the preschool educational institution in the Novye Veshki residential complex, Dmitry Seversky, organized a reception for the Director of the American International School in Salzburg (AIS-Salzburg ) by Mr. Paul McLean.

On the eve of the construction of a school in Novye Veshki Residential Complex, Mr. Paul McLean shared his experience in organizing international education. During the meeting, Paul McLean spoke about the system of European education and the differences between the basic programs of European countries and the more intense educational program at International Schools.
The management of the Novye Veshki residential complex showed interest in such schools and shared their plans to organize a school in the Novye Veshki residential complex. According to Mark Groysman, the school in the Novye Veshki cottage complex will be based on the system of Russian education, the main task of which will be preparation for admission to both leading Russian and foreign higher educational institutions. “Our residents,” says Mark Groysman, “want to get something more than just a general education school.”
Mr. Paul McLean drew a parallel between the location of the complex and the school grounds in Salzburg. The building of the boarding school, as well as the Novye Veshki residential complex, is located in the suburbs of Salzburg, which allows children to spend a lot of time outdoors and often go to nature, to the mountains, organize mountain, horseback, bicycle trips.
The participants in the conversation unanimously noted that the closed infrastructure of the Novye Veshki residential complex would make it possible to organize the educational process as comfortably as possible for students and their parents.
