Cadence Academy Preschool | Centennial, CO

Welcome to Cadence Academy, DTC in Centennial, Colorado! We are proud to share that we have been voted in the top 3 for Best Preschools of 2021 by the readers of Colorado Parent!

Cadence Academy Preschool, Centennial has 10 custom-designed classrooms where children have ample space for learning, yet still enjoy cozy, homelike amenities. We have found that young children transition more successfully into a daycare environment when they aren’t overwhelmed with vibrant colors and clutter. We opt to use natural tones and soft elements like pillows, soft seating areas, coverings, and soft lighting in our preschool’s classrooms.

Previously operating under the name Gateway Academy, we changed our name to Cadence Academy Centennial in June 2018 as part of our ongoing commitment to provide families in Centennial high quality childcare. Cadence Academy Preschool has locations all over the nation and we’re known for our Ascend Curriculum, which is a skill-based curriculum that provides children with the physical, cognitive, and social tools they need to excel in kindergarten.

We focus on the development of social and emotional skill every month and build valuable character traits like Empathy, Responsibility, and a Positive Self-Image as part of our Ascend Curriculum.

We want Cadence Academy Preschool, Centennial to be a Kind School where everyone feels welcome and valued and our Kind Child program is an important part of making that ideal a reality.

Events at our Preschool

Our preschool is a hands-on learning environment where children experience fun while they learn. We venture out into our community throughout the year, but we also have in-house field trips to extend the learning process in areas such as music, science, and culture. One of our staff’s favorite days is our Transportation Fair, where we invite a variety of community helpers to bring their trucks and work vehicles to our preschool.

Explanatory note
_____________________________________________________________

What is childhood for each of us?

Cheerful, carefree time, new discoveries, victories, first disappointments. At the same time, childhood is the time when the foundation of the future personality of a person is laid, which means that this is a very responsible and important period.

Who is next to the child, how he sees the world around him, what he learns and with whom he communicates – all this has a huge impact on the formation of him as a person. Of course, the responsibility for raising a child lies entirely on the shoulders of his parents, but an important role in the upbringing and education of children is assigned to a kindergarten, a teacher who sometimes becomes a second mother for children, just as kind, sympathetic, loving, smart and fair. The merit of preschool education in the upbringing and development of the younger generation is invaluable, because thanks to kindergartens, boys and girls get to know the world, get to know themselves and learn to live in society.

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of preschool education in the city of Syktyvkar, we would like to draw the attention of our employees, children and their parents to the great importance of the kindergarten in the functioning and development of our society:

  • Kindergarten is the place where the preparation of the future generation of our country, our people takes place;
  • kindergarten is the place where comfort, harmony, joy, love and friendship, mutual understanding and support always reign; that’s why –
  • Kindergarten is the place where you want to return when you grow up.

To do this, a working group of teachers created the project “Good House of Childhood”, the main goal of which is to popularize the positive experience of developing the system of preschool education in the city of Syktyvkar, as well as to increase the prestige of the profession of a preschool worker.

Project objectives:

  1. Involve all participants in the educational process (employees, pupils and their parents) in the implementation of the project.
  2. Develop a phased action plan for the preparation and implementation of the project.
  3. To instill in project participants respect for the profession of a preschool worker, pride in the kindergarten and its employees.
  4. To expand the understanding of the profession of a preschool worker, the history of the emergence and development of a kindergarten, to form a sense of belonging to the life of a preschool institution through participation in project activities.

Type of project: information and creative, long-term.

Project implementation period: August 2017 – October 2018

grew and developed

History of our garden | COMBINED KINDERGARTEN No. 196

The history of the opening of our preschool institution is inseparable from the life of the Khabarovsk sewing association “Vostok”. In the 70-80s of the last century, this association was well known not only in the Far East, but also far beyond its borders. Young factory workers created families and adorable babies were born. The administration of the enterprise, taking care of its little citizens, opened preschool institutions.

In 1972, the Khabarovsk production sewing association “Vostok” built and put into operation the building of kindergarten No. 196.

A large two-story building with high ceilings, large windows, separate bedrooms – a wonderful gift for kids and their parents.

The first head of the preschool N.L. Belik recalls:

“We were preparing for the opening of the kindergarten with great excitement: we were importing kitchen equipment, furniture, sports equipment, toys. Seedlings were planted around the kindergarten, flower beds were laid out.”

At the appointed time, September 14, the preschool received its first pets. From this time begins the annals of the kindergarten.

Preschoolers had an interesting and fun life in the new kindergarten. With the support of the sewing enterprise, the material base of our institution improved from year to year. Great importance was attached to labor education at that time. Hard work is not given from birth, but purposefully brought up. Kindergarten teachers paid special attention to fostering respect for the work of adults. Children were introduced to the professions of their parents: seamstress, cutter, tailor, sewing machine repairman, light industry technologist.

A good tradition has appeared – excursions to the sewing association “Vostok”. Inquisitive children’s eyes examined the sewing machines, watched the process of sewing the product, being surprised and rejoiced at everything. Excursions around the garment factory often ended with concerts, to which children learned poems, songs, and dances.

Years passed, life changed. The country entered the last decade of the 20th century. At this time, a truly dramatic situation developed in Russia. Since 1990, there has been an unprecedented decline in population. The death rate exceeded the birth rate by 1.5–2.5 times. Experts predicted that if the situation is not reversed, then by 2035 every second child will be born with a birth defect. Therefore, it is no coincidence that support and preservation of children’s health is today a strategic direction of state policy, one of the national projects.

It should be noted that it was at this time that a sports hall was opened and equipped in our institution. At the same time, M.V. was hired by the institution. Pyshnenko, teacher-coach in athletics, graduate of the Khabarovsk State Institute of Physical Culture. From that moment on, the life of our preschoolers has become much more interesting. What kid does not like sports exercises, fun outdoor games, relay races, competitions? You won’t find one like it! Everyone in our kindergarten loves physical education.

Who hasn’t heard the phrase: “Take care of it like the apple of your eye.” Indeed, thanks to vision, we see everything that surrounds us, admire the variety of colors and colors. It is sad when innocent babies are already born with a visual defect. In the 1990s, ophthalmologists noted a sharp increase in visually impaired children. This was the reason for opening two groups for visually impaired children in our kindergarten. Special equipment for eye treatment was purchased: a muscle trainer MT-1, a color test for the study of binocular vision TsT-1, a synoptophore. In subsequent years, a light pen, an apparatus for training eye-hand movement coordination TVO-1, computer programs “Flower”, “Blade”, “Cross” and others were purchased.

In 2009 E.S. Kondratiev – a new page in the history of our institution has been opened.

From the first days of her tenure as a head, Elena Sergeevna took up the arrangement and renovation of the kindergarten. Everyone knows that the development of a child depends not only on how the upbringing process is organized, but also on where and in what environment he lives. Plastic windows and modern intergroup doors appeared in the garden; a major overhaul of the medical office, laundry, kitchen. The kitchen has new equipment, refrigerators. In group rooms, old furniture has been replaced with new. The music hall has acquired an aesthetic appearance. Outdoor lighting has been replaced with energy-saving ones, video cameras have appeared.

At the initiative of our leader, a psychologist’s office was opened in the kindergarten. It’s no secret that a child receives basic information about himself and about the world from his parents. The psychologist, whose main task is to protect the rights of the child and create optimal conditions for the development of the personality of children, their harmonious upbringing and education, primarily acts as a coordinator of interactions between the family and the kindergarten. E.A. Lysykh, a teacher-psychologist of our institution, helps parents understand the level of their pedagogical literacy, what goals they set for themselves, and how they try to realize them. Ekaterina Alexandrovna works in close contact with educators, specialists, and directly with children.

For many years they have been successfully working in our team, taking an active part in the work of the kindergarten, N.B. Balkova (educator, Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation), E.A. Dashkaeva (teacher-defectologist), O.V. Dmitrienko (educator), L.D. Korosteleva (educator), M.
