City of Orel was founded as a fortress during the reign of Ivan the Terrible in 1566. The fortress was located along the banks of the Oka River. She was defensive. Later it became the center of the Oryol district. But over time Orel becomes an important trading post.

Orel is located 380 km from Moscow. Orel can be reached from Moscow by train, bus or car. Residents move around the city by trams, buses, trolleybuses and fixed-route taxis.

Orel is surrounded by the Bryansk, Tula, Kursk and Kaluga regions.

The city is located in the continental climate zone. Winter is moderately cold. February has the coldest days. Summer is warm. The hottest month is July. The city has lakes. In the south of the city there is the largest lake – Bright Life.

Museum of I. A. Bunin

The way from the correspondent of the provincial newspaper “Orlovsky Vestnik” to the classic of Russian and world literature. The exposition of the Bunin Museum reveals the fate of the writer full of drama. The unique collection has been collected for more than half a century. It is based on documents from Bunin’s family and literary archives, photographs and manuscripts, letters and lifetime editions. The special pride of the museum is the writer’s Parisian office. Forty years ago, memorial furniture was delivered to Orel from the capital of France, including Ivan Bunin’s desk and his chair.

Monument to Turgenev I.S.

Cultural heritage site of the Russian Federation.

Installed in one of the most beautiful places in the city, the so-called “Turgenevsky Berezhka” – on the top of the slope of the bank of the river. Oki next to the city park of culture and recreation.

The monument was unveiled on November 4, 1968 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer I. S. Turgenev.

Arrow of the Oka and Orlik At the location of the ancient settlement and the foundation of the city, where the Oka and Orlik merge, there is now a small square and installed in 1966 according to the joint project of the sculptor A.N. Burganov and architect R.K. Topurizde in honor of the city’s four hundredth anniversary, a memorial complex – a 27-meter granite obelisk with the most important historical dates of Orel carved. The Orlovtsy themselves call the historical center of the city Strelka, the name is associated with the arrow installed here for the four hundredth anniversary of the Eagle. The square is located near the confluence of two rivers, Oka and Orlik. And here one of the sights of Orel is installed – an obelisk in honor of the city’s four hundredth anniversary. For posterity, a letter is immured in stone, which should be read in 2066.

Oryol is rightfully called the third cultural capital of Russia. The pride of the city are, of course, museums, in Orel there are a huge number of them. Almost all of them are concentrated in the center on the right bank of the Oka. True, the military history museum of the city is a little far from the center, but it is still located on the right bank, so you definitely won’t need a map when visiting interesting places in the city. Many interesting museums in Orel are also prepared for lovers of literature. I.S. was born here. The project “Sights of the city of Orel”.

Purpose of the project: to form in preschoolers ideas about their small Motherland.

Relevance:

Moral and patriotic education of a child is a complex pedagogical process. It is based on the development of moral feelings, and so that the words “I love my Motherland” do not turn into an empty phrase, it is important that a vivid image of the Motherland arise already among preschoolers.

The family is going through hard times at the moment. In an effort to earn their daily bread, parents are paying less and less attention to children and their upbringing, and the number of incomplete, unfavorable families is growing. It is more and more difficult for a child to love his home, family, and kindergarten too. Therefore, it is necessary to create conditions for the formation in children of an emotionally rich image of their home, kindergarten.

The federal educational standard of preschool education sets goals for patriotic education: creating conditions for the formation of the foundations of the patriotic consciousness of children, the possibility of positive socialization of the child, his comprehensive personal, moral and cognitive development, the development of initiative and creative abilities on the basis of types corresponding to preschool age activities.

The content of the Federal State Educational Standard notes the urgent need to intensify the process of educating patriotism in preschoolers. Children at this age are very inquisitive, responsive, receptive. They easily respond to all initiatives, they know how to sincerely sympathize and empathize. For the educator, this is a time of fertile ground. After all, at this age there are great opportunities for the systematic and consistent moral education of children. There is a formation of the spiritual basis of the child, emotions, feelings, thinking, processes of social adaptation in society, the process of self-awareness in the world around begins. It is this segment of a person’s life that is most favorable for the emotional and psychological impact on the child, since his images are very bright and strong, and therefore they remain in memory for a long time, and sometimes for life, which is very important in the education of patriotism.

Pedagogical principles are known: love for the motherland begins with the relationship to the closest people – father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, with love for one’s home, the street where the child lives, kindergarten, school, city.

We believe that the creative project developed by us will help children feel like a citizen of our city, region, country.

Project goal:

— development of cognitive activity of children, increasing interest in the history and culture of our city, the formation of a sense of patriotism;

– fostering love for the Fatherland, the city in which we live, pride in its culture;

— formation of the social position of a participant and creator of public life;

– formation of interest in collective, playful and productive creative activities.

Objectives of the project:

1. Educational:

-to form children’s ideas about their small Motherland – Oryol region;

– to introduce children to the sights of the city and the region, architectural monuments, with the names of streets bearing the names of famous people;

– to form the skills of search activity.

2. Developing:

– to develop the speech of children, to consolidate the ability to use nouns in the plural, the genitive case, to develop the ability to ask questions correctly, answer the question with a common sentence, describe the picture;

– develop independence, creativity.

3. Educational:

– to cultivate a feeling of love for one’s small Motherland, respect for what people have done, respect for people who glorified Russia.

Cathedral of the Epiphany

Orel is famous for its many sights. One of them is the Cathedral of the Epiphany. The temple, built in the 40s of the 17th century, is considered the oldest stone building in the city. Initially, the church Orthodox shrine belonged to the Epiphany Monastery, which was abolished in 1680. Until today, in the Epiphany Cathedral, located in the central part of Orel, on the river bank, ancient icons have been preserved, which are credited with miraculous properties. The temple is located on the square of the same name – Epiphany.

Going on a tour of Orel, you can not ignore the Assumption Monastery, which is of great interest to tourists. Previously, on the vast monastic territory there was a bishop’s house with many buildings of various types and purposes. Unfortunately, only the two-domed Trinity Church-tomb has survived to this day. It was erected within 2 years, in the period from 1843 to 1845. The initiator of the construction was the local governor Kochubey. The shrine was conceived as a memorial church, next to which the relatives of the manager were laid to rest – mother, wife and two sons. Unfortunately, today nothing remains of the graves, but the church still exists. At the beginning of the 21st century, a beautiful chapel was built next to it and named after Alexander Nevsky. Directly below it is a well with the purest artesian water. Its depth is 148 m. Well water is consecrated, anyone can taste it.

Another notable Orthodox cloister is located in the city – the Vvedensky Convent. The old building was empty in 1923 and gradually collapsed over a long 70 years. In the early 90s of the 20th century, the city authorities decided to restore the shrine. Restoration work is ongoing to this day. One of the main assets of the monastery is the list of the Balykinskaya Icon of the Mother of God. This list, endowed with miraculous properties, was presented as a gift to the monastery by St. John of Tobolsk back in 1712.

If we talk about the mundane sights of the city, then there are no less of them. Extremely interesting are the Trade Rows dating back to the 18th century. The building, stretching for a whole block, has a sad history. Shortly after its construction, it was badly damaged by fire. The malls burned out almost completely, but, fortunately, they were restored in the middle of the 19th century.

In the 60s of the 20th century, a commemorative memorial dedicated to the anniversary date – the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city appeared on the territory of Orel. Compositionally, this monument is a huge obelisk made of granite, stretching up to 27 meters. Various dates directly related to the history of the Eagle are engraved on its surface. It is known that under the obelisk its founders bricked up a letter addressed to future generations of the 21st century. By the way, the memorial is located directly at the confluence of Orlik and Oka.

Guests of the city are genuinely interested in the tourist complex “Grinn”, on the territory of which and next to it there are a large number of sculptural and architectural monuments, both ancient and modern. One of the sights is the cafe “Boyarskoe”, stylized as antique. Not far from it is a museum complex, the exposition of which tells about the history of the construction and development of the Eagle from its origins to the present day.

Another place that guests of Orel should definitely visit is the Noble Nest. The magnificent green square is geographically located on the left bank of Orlik. According to legend, in this landscape area there was once an old manor, which the famous writer I. S. Turgenev described in the work of the same name. On the very outskirts of the square, a beautiful wooden gazebo, nicknamed “Turgenevskaya”, was erected. A marble bust of the writer was placed next to it and a comfortable observation deck was equipped.

The city of Orel has a large number of museums – as many as ten, while 6 of them are dedicated to Russian literature and famous writers and poets of different eras, whose lives were somehow connected with the Oryol province. Thus, Orel is a real paradise for connoisseurs of Russian classics.

You can have a calm and useful rest by visiting local theaters or walking through charming parks and squares. From one of these parks called “Oryol Polesie” is literally breathtaking! On the most beautiful territory of several hectares, a huge number of representatives of the fauna live almost in natural, natural conditions. Luxurious enclosures have been built for animals and birds, the size of which allows the inhabitants to feel free.
