Pink color in the interior is no longer about kindergarten and infantilism!

We are talking about pale pink or, as they call it at the Panton Institute, ash (dusty) pink. This color is undeservedly considered exclusively for children, that it can only be used by me in arranging a room for a girl. But this is a mistake, because dusty pink fits perfectly into different styles and interior concepts!

Pink as an alternative

For the most part, dusty pink can be used as a substitute for overused light shades. We boldly refer to these:

• Dairy;
• White;
• Beige;
• Light grey.

Dusty pink shade, pure in its characteristics, can easily replace the listed tones. It goes well with gray and natural bright tones. In a word, dusty pink is the new white and the same versatile color.

Color history

Dusty pink originated in ancient times in France. It was introduced into wide use by Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. It was this couple who created a special fashion for the color and style of Rococo.

Initially, pink with an ash undertone was intended as a color for intimate interiors, so it is ideal for small apartments. It will not harm the visual perception of the area at all!

What tones are combined with

COLOR IN A CHILD’S LIFE – very important, as colors affect his mood and behavior. Some colors soothe, others excite. Some make you smile, others scare you. Colors can tell about the character of the child, his anxieties and experiences, tell about his future. In addition, colors can have a therapeutic effect.

FIRST COLORS . It is believed that a child in the first months of life sees the world only in black and white. However, ophthalmologists refute this. A newborn sees the same colors as an adult, but the infant begins to focus his gaze selectively, gradually isolating certain colors from the surrounding reality.
The first steps to the ability to handle color, distinguish between shades and recognize colors, the child learns at the age of a year and a half.
It has been noticed that by the age of one, the baby most often prefers yellow-green tones. The shades of the environment, toys during this period should be calm, even plain. For example, the first pyramids for a child under one and a half years old are made from rings of the same color, and the child willingly fiddles with this toy, not noticing the monotony. For a child aged 2-3 years, toys of different colors can be recommended, but it is desirable that there is not an abundance of colors – it is enough if they are red, green, yellow, blue. By the age of six, babies usually begin to prefer bright colors.

WHAT COLOR IS IT?

There are active and passive colors. Active colors (bright red and bright orange, and to a lesser extent bright yellow, act exciting – they give a slight shake to the body and are able to speed up vital processes.
Passive colors (light shades of green, pink and blue, partly white) – they have the effect of calming the nervous system.
Colors that can cause anxiety, despondency and melancholy are brown shades, lilac and violet. Surrounded by red and orange, the child feels a surge of strength and energy for the first 60 minutes, after another 30 minutes he already overexcited, and after a short period of time becomes irritable and overly aggressive.
And it is worth changing the combination of colors, to blue or light green, and after 10 minutes the child calms down and returns to normal. Therefore, when choosing toys for a child, it is important not to choose aggressive colors, but just the opposite, those that will calm the child, you don’t need to completely abandon bright toys, but minimize the need to eat.
Even in choosing clothes, you need to be careful, do not choose too bright outfits, as they will negatively affect not only your child, but also those children who will be next to him. It is best to use solid and calm colors, only then can we say with confidence that the child will not have a sharp feeling of panic or anxiety.
Acid colors, such as piercing light green, pink, are categorically contraindicated for children, as they confuse the child’s visual perception and irritate the eyes.

COLOR MOOD.

To determine the mood of the child by color, invite him to choose the pencil (it is desirable that there be no more than eight of them, which color he likes the most. When the choice is made, remove it from the child’s field of vision. Dark tones are also undesirable – a rich blue color can cause an unconscious feeling of anxiety in a sensitive, emotional child.
The play area can “activate” the child. To do this, it is better to use bright toys, paintings, wallpaper inserts as contrasting color spots against the background of calm basic tones.

Each color has its own specific perception, emotional characteristics and even impact on the human body. For example:

Red is the strongest. Studies show that children prefer it. It is our red color that can be associated with a challenge, even aggression, but for a child it is the color of activity, confidence, celebration.
According to Luscher, red color is chosen by strong, courageous, enterprising and energetic individuals. However, do not overdo it and surround the child with red from all sides. In large doses, it can tire anyone.

Another thing – orange color. It is also warm and stimulating, but less assertive.
Orange color can be called the color of good mood. He is the funniest. Remember the song in which the orange sea, the orange mother and, in general, everything around is orange? Orange – open, friendly, emotional. Pastel shades of orange relieve stress.

Yellow is the color of the sun, which means warmth and optimism. Yellow color is preferred by dreamy natures, dreamers and storytellers, as well as people who are very responsive. It has a beneficial effect on concentration and memory.

Green – the color of youth, growth, novelty. Green calms, relaxes and has a beneficial effect on vision. It is often preferred by balanced, but persistent, purposeful people.

Blue – the color of the sky, flight, dreams. Has a calming effect. Among adults enjoys special respect. Often used in interiors and clothing as fresh, harmonious and relaxing.
