AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Oakmont KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • We researched and visited many preschools in the Fort Worth area. We chose KinderCare Oakmont for several reasons:
     – Teachers are always warm, kind, happy, and attentive with every child.
     – Classrooms are bright and organized.
     – The teachers follow an accredited program, with a mix of individual and group learning activities through work and play.
     – Fruits and vegetables are served at every meal; the center’s monthly menu is posted and followed.
     – There’s constant communication between teachers, kids, and parents through daily report sheets, weekly themes posted on the boards, and monthly calendars and newsletters sent home to parents.
     – Hours are flexible.

Our once-shy kids are now talking, playing, openly expressing their feelings, and reading books on their own. When we drop off our kids in the morning, I know they’re in good hands!

Lovecraft would approve of Sinking City – DTF Games

Probably everyone knows Howard Phillips Lovecraft and his Myths. Many have read his characteristic works like The Ridges of Madness and The Shadow on Innsmouth.

The attractiveness of Lovecraft’s work lies in the idea of man’s limitation in front of truly cosmic forces and entities of other spaces. The horror of the unknown, the threat of the unknown, which is absolutely real. In general, the message of the so-called. The myths of Cthulhu (the generalized name of the universe of Lovecraft and followers) is the weakness of human representation and possibilities in front of prehistoric and cosmic beings of an inaccessible nature. Therefore, the characters constantly fall into hysteria, into madness.

And the Sinking City game captures that perfectly. Perhaps even in Dark Corners of the Earth (2005 game) there was no such showiness!

views

Some visions in the center of the screen – the main character dangling in a loop or strange monsters, distortions at the edges, the image shakes and floats, some rustles and sounds, the character brushes off something and shakes himself off, black clots may even appear supposedly crawling creatures and tentacles from underground.

This is a definite plus of the game. So to convey the atmosphere of madness, the developers of Frogwares tried in an original way.

Our hero, Charles Reed, arrives in Oakmont. He himself is a former naval diver (which is also important in terms of gameplay), who became a private detective (again, such a hero is typical in Lovecraft’s works). As it will be clear from the exposition of the beginning, Charles Reed encountered something unknown during the service and all his friends died. And he himself began to suffer from nightmarish visions and dreams. At the same time, similar visions began to appear in many people, who in the majority suddenly go to this very Oakmont. Oakmont has been desolate for half a year after the terrible flood that brought the monsters (in the game they are called vilbeasts).

And as we find out a little later – before the flood, Innsmouthers arrived in the city, who were thrown out of Innsmouth destroyed by the authorities (according to the canon of Lovecraft’s work).

And in general, the atmosphere of the Lovecraftian Myth Cthulhu is conveyed simply gorgeous in Sinking City. This coastal city, with flooded neighborhoods and entire streets. Houses in strange shells and layers. Rising here and there are gigantic columns of incomprehensible stone. Ruin and desolation in the streets. Zealots of various stripes, wandering aimlessly or shouting out sermons.

In general, the color scheme, sounds and musical themes are simply amazing to convey the atmosphere of a “typical” Lovecraftian work. A definite plus.

Let’s add here the general atmosphere of the 1920s. The one that can be seen in the dock. Films or cinema of those years (films of Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd).

The city feels big. There are several areas that are flooded to some extent. Each area is different and traveling through it is not tiring. In addition, there is fast travel through telephone booths.

We have a map that needs to be labeled with tasks. I liked this mechanic. The main thing is that marks appear on the map depending on the chosen case (quest). So you don’t need to be afraid of cluttering the card. All rooms in the game are connected with quests, so in essence we have a “semi-open world”.

And it seems that you need to actively remember the city due to this mechanics of marks. But the locations of many quests are often close to the “fast travel” phone booth!

Sinking City has a storyline quest of course. And additional quests. These extra cases are a separate plus of the game.

They seem to be reworked stories of Lovecraft’s works – interesting, extraordinary (I especially remember about Throgmorton’s mirror, about students and their doubles, about a missing girl from a mental hospital).

You carry them out using search work.

And the game design of the search work is also a great plus of the game. Moreover, in combination with the plots and the narrative being told, you do not pay attention to the cyclical nature of the process.

Charles Reed collects evidence – through work with witnesses, through work in the archives (interestingly, some sections of the archive are not used. This is also an element of the puzzle).

When examining a place, both the usual interactivity with objects and Reed’s paranormal vision are used – we find hidden rooms, we see pictures of the past.

Having found all the clues, Reed enters a state of retrocognition – a space where we see deductive pictures and indicate their sequence.

It is worth noting that the downside was the need to first look at all the pictures, and only then the opportunity to build a chain. Although it is often immediately clear which event is the first. Those. bad that you can not number the pictures of events at once.

Having found all the clues in this way – through inspection and paranormal visions – we are engaged in building conclusions in the halls of the mind.

Periodically, Reed has to dive to the bottom of the sea. And we see incomprehensible leviathans in the distance, strange images and megaliths. There is also an enemy that you need to get away from – tentacles or underwater creatures. Excellent sound and visualization.

The plot is essentially linear, as are the dialogues. The whole game gives the impression that you are either doing things that help the TOD (Order of Cultists) or against their influence.

As in any modern game, there is also leveling and crafting. Pumping looks normal and with proper pumping and investigation of additional cases does not bother.

Crafting resources are also constantly updated in boxes, etc. What’s a plus. But the monsters constantly spawn in the location, you just have to leave the room. So to speak – a minus.

It is worth mentioning areas with monsters.

As I mentioned, the monsters in the rooms of the quest can spawn again, you just have to go beyond the threshold and move away to the conditional 5 meters. Monsters always spawn everywhere.

So these zones are not cleanup locations (ala SanAndreas or RAGE2). These are just outposts a la Wildlands and the like. Assassin’s Creed. More resources are spent on cleaning up the area than is available (in particular, for cartridges and explosives). And without pumping the size of the ammunition, it will not be possible to perform a sweep. So in essence, these areas serve to loot (preferably squatting), in case of an urgent need for resources. Then the monsters do not rise immediately, and in all the staves (marked with a hash sign) resources are given, and not bricks or scrap metal. In the event of a massive influx of monsters, you can simply climb back again!

The minus of the game is these strange and unnecessary outposts with permanent monsters.

Naturally, there are dialogues in the game. Facial animation and textures look good. At the indie studio level. At the B-category level. Nothing bad to say.

But a separate minus – a lot of identical faces! (But taking into account the so-called “Prolific Mother” this can be attributed to lore)

Although the animation of climbing stairs is of course terrible

Still didn’t like the quick change of day and night. In general, in such a power game, day and night change too quickly (it was already morning when I swam and searched the apartment, I just reached the archive and got back into the boat, it was already getting dark).

Even with such a long walk through the streets and swimming, the auto run button was needed. It was in this game that I realized for the first time how correct her presence was in the Fallout of Bethesda.

Combat system is normal. Again there is a look at the B-category. Nice weapon sound. There are animations.

It can be noted that the weapon is picked up: the rifle one-shots the spitting wilbists, the revolver knocks down the jumping wilbists (however, the pistol too). The gun calmly destroys human opponents (in the head for sure). Shotgun is good against maw wilbists. And the Tomigan against the giant wailbeasts.

Molotov cocktail destroys spitting “immortal” wilbists, trap kills jumping wilbists and stops them with their mouths, and grenades are good against clusters of monsters.

To sum up – The Sinking City is the first game that was able to convey Lovecraft’s creativity. A game that you want to have in your library and that you want to return to. The game will be worthwhile for Lovecraft Mythology fans, at least it was very interesting for me to go through all the quests.
