The Daily Walk

Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. Requirements and standards for lighting in kindergarten

Kindergarten – a type of institution for preschool children. Included in the list of preschool educational organizations (PEO). Lighting in kindergarten is organized in accordance with the following documents:

  • SanPiN 2.2.1 / 2.1.1.1278-03, which provides requirements for lighting in residential and public buildings.
  • SP 52.13330.2016, which reflects all the basic requirements for natural and artificial lighting.

What are the legal requirements for lighting in a kindergarten? It may not be only in some rooms: showers, restrooms, washrooms, staff rooms.

According to 4.1. SanPiN 2.2.1 / 2.1.1.1278-03, in group and game rooms, combined lighting is permissible if it is rational from the point of view of the space-planning solution of the object. Here they understand the addition of natural light to artificial for a full day.

Combined lighting is practiced when the amount of natural light does not reach the established standards. This applies to cloudy days, short daylight hours in autumn and winter, kindergartens surrounded by dense vegetation near the ground floor windows.

Lighting standards in kindergarten according to SanPiN 2.2.1 / 2.1.1.1278-03 are determined for individual premises of the institution. All normalized values are given in table 2 of the specified document. The main parameter is KEO (en), i.e., the coefficient of natural light. Artificial lighting in kindergartens according to SanPiN also has certain normalized values. All normalized parameters are presented in the table.

According to SanPiN 2.2.1/2.1.1.1278-03 with lateral one-sided lighting, the normalized KEO in play and group rooms should be provided at a distance of 1 m from the wall that is farthest from the windows (light openings). In the rest of the premises, including isolation rooms and rooms for sick children, KEO provide premises in the geometric center at the level of the working surface.

Emergency lighting requirements

According to Table 7.28 of SP 52.13330.2016, on escape routes up to 2 m wide, including flights of stairs, it is necessary to provide at least 50% of the rated illumination 5 s after the failure of the working lighting and at least 100% after 10 s. Other emergency lighting requirements:

  • Rated illumination on a horizontal surface – not less than 5 lx.
  • Extreme light uniformity Emin./Emax. – no more than 1:40.
  • Duration of emergency lighting – 1 hour

Outdoor lighting of the kindergarten

According to table 7.21 of SP 52.13330.2016 approaches, paths and entrances of kindergartens belong to the class of lighting objects P4. The average illumination of the territory of the kindergarten in these areas is at least 4 lux.

Recent changes in legislation

Since January 1, 2021, many regulatory documents have become invalid, among which there is SanPiN 2.4.1.3049-13, which established requirements for preschool educational organizations. The document has been replaced by SP 2.4.3648-20, which provides standards for organizations of education and training, recreation and health improvement of children and youth. Regarding lighting in this code, the following requirements are given:

  • The territory of the institution must be equipped with outdoor electric lighting.
  • In playrooms, bedrooms of group cells and study rooms, side, top or two-sided lighting is provided. In classrooms, natural light should be left-handed.
  • Without natural light, the following rooms can be organized: washrooms, showers, toilets at the gym, storage and storage rooms, rooms for storing cleaning equipment.

General lighting, in accordance with paragraph 2.8.5 of the new SP, is organized using ceiling lamps with discharge, fluorescent or LED lamps. They can have white, warm white or natural white light spectrum. Lamps of the same type and color temperature must be used in the same room.

The level of illumination in group and playrooms for preschool children is assumed to be at least 400 lux. In recreations and corridors of dormitory buildings, duty (night) lighting should be additionally organized.

The experiment to limit the export of red caviar by passengers on flights in Kamchatka can be extended to other regions, head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov told TASS.

“The results seem to be good so far. Chukotka has already declared that it is interested. I think that if we see a good result as a result of this Putin period, then, of course, we will extend it to all Far Eastern regions, ”he said on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit.

At the same time, Shestakov noted that the rules of the experiment needed to be finalized.

“We can see that the volume of traffic has decreased. There are revealed facts when caviar is not allowed for transportation. But there are points that need to be improved in order not to return this caviar, but to check the legality of its origin, ”the head of the department emphasized.
