Summer Camp Inquiry

We’ll go globetrotting to the country where the boomerang originated – AUSTRALIA! From Alice Springs to Sydney, campers will explore the claims to fame of some of the cities we’ll visit virtually while sampling their foods, music, traditions, sports, and more.

We’ll score some good old-fashioned fun by playing the best indoor and outdoor games of all time, then use our imaginations to make up a few new games of our own. During potluck playtime, our campers will bring their favorite game to share with their friends.

We’ll explore some of the most popular movies, movie characters, and genres of the last few decades. We’ll work together to dream up our own movie concept, design a set, and film a trailer.

We’ll pay a virtual visit to the beaches in Australia. We’ll take a deep dive into the Great Barrier Reef and learn about a variety of ocean creatures that call it home. The creation of beautiful sand art, traditional beach games like the Limbo, and a water play day will round out the week.

In addition to exploring how our favorite superheroes first got their start, we’ll also discuss real-life heroes like healthcare workers, first responders, astronauts, sports figures, teachers, and more. We’ll incorporate dress-up days to pay tribute to some of our fave figures from fiction, careers, and sports.

We’ll start the week by discussing the importance of the three R’s – recycle, reduce and reuse, then add one of our own… REIMAGINE. We’ll upcycle common household items by transforming them into something entirely new – whether it’s a work of art or something inventively functional.

Campers will draw inspiration from the Earth and create art using several different media and natural materials. We’ll explore poetry and songs inspired by the natural world, try our hand at Haiku and host an art show at the end of the week.

This wild week features an exploration of the fashion, music, historic high points, movies, and moves of the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. The last day will feature a flash FORWARD, as our campers create a whole new look and dance that they believe will mark the hottest trends in the future.

We’ll explore a variety of other fun flying objects – like propeller sticks and drones – then design, create and fly our own paper airplanes. At the heart of this STEM-based week, we’ll reimagine everyday items into new gliding gizmos to show off to families during our Invention Convention on the last day of the week.

We’ll cook up a ton of fun this week as we learn how our taste buds work with regard to sweet vs. sour vs. salty foods. The week ends with a pot luck dinner featuring a favorite dish from each of our campers.

Abracadabra! We’ll learn a few basic magic tricks to wow our friends and family members. From chemical reactions and crystal formations to how seeds grow into plants, we’ll take a peek behind the curtain to learn the science behind it.

Kangaroos, koalas, and dingoes – oh my! This week will entail some enlightening discussions about animals that can only be found on the Australian continent. We’ll also talk about habitats, share photos and stories about our pets, watch movies where animals are the star of the show, and visit a local petting zoo.

The Junior Explorers Club

We’re built on the belief that exploration is learning, and that nature provides boundless opportunities for children to discover, explore and strengthen some of their most important skills. With the uncertainty of the world and all the knowledge we hold as licensed educators, we’re doing what we always do – brainstorm the best ways to support our families here at Kids Garden. And we’re doing just that with our Junior Explorers’ Club. We’ve got options for two different approaches to learning this year: After-school Adventures and Outdoor Day Camp.

We know that nature play…

  • Decreases stress and encourages mindfulness
  • Stimulates creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Encourages responsibility, independence and imagination
  • Hands-on and sensory learning opportunities abound
  • Understanding of and appreciation for our planet

Our Mission at Junior Explorers Club is to inspire and empower children through creative, educational play. Going on adventures in and around town, we’ll learn valuable wilderness skills and develop essential life skills. We know these skills will help develop children’s self-esteem, promote teamwork and friendship, and develop a sense of community and belonging. Unplugged from electronics and plugged into the natural world around us, our various programs will let children discover more of the great outdoors in the company of exceptional leaders.

After-School Adventures

Our After-School Adventures give parents the convenience of children being picked up at their school at the time of dismissal. Explorers will then get fresh air at local parks, beaches and farms, which will allow us to alternate on our schedule.  Next the group will head to Kids Garden for a healthy snack, homework helpers, kids yoga and creative art classes. Parents can pick up at their convenience and must pick up their child by 6 PM.

Limit 10 students per bus. Hours 2:30pm-6:00pm $150 per child per week

Outdoor Day Camp

Our Outdoor Day Camp offers parents daily and weekly camps. It’s here that Junior Explorers will be transported on our buses to local parks, beaches, farms, as well as to our sister location of Natural Gathering Grounds. These camps are typically booked by the week, and range in theme and explorational learning themes. The goal of Outdoor Junior Explorer Camps is to unplug from the world, and reconnect in nature! Campers can join enriching Kids Garden activities in one of our centers, before or after day camp hours.

Limit 14 students per bus. Hours 10am-3pm $285 per child per week $65 per child per day

Summer camp of the Oyama Karate Center in Sochi in the Olympic village

June 30, 2016

The summer sports camp of the Oyama Karate Center operates in Sochi. On June 9, the first summer shift went there.

Vyacheslav Karius told the details of the trip to the summer camp in great detail in his diary. Here are some of his observations:

First impressions.

On the platform in Adler, at the new Olympic railway station, we were met by a representative of the transport company. In a merry crowd we fell out of the car and a few minutes later we were already in the station building. And then trouble happened. During baggage control, my fanny pack went somewhere. There was nothing of value there except a phone and a passport. Back and forth, looking for … I ask. Nobody saw anything. Then I call my phone number. Answer with a Caucasian accent: “Yes, listen, we have your bag, come on…” I quickly ran to the appointed place and, oh, a miracle! .. I received my bag from a stranger. Nicely! Everything worked out.

Spread out into two buses, they headed for the mountains, to the Olympic village in Krasnaya Polyana, to the Rosa Khutor resort.

Oh mountains, you are a miracle!

Comfortable buses are a real pleasure to ride. Warm. Outside the window are magnificent mountain landscapes. The road is straight at first and then serpentine. We drove for about an hour. Beginning to get dark. The sun at sunset illuminated the tops of the snowy peaks with rays, which burned bright red and created the feeling of a FAIRY TALE. The majestic mountain range Aibga greeted us at its foot at an altitude of 1170 m above sea level, where our cozy mountain hotel “Rosa-Ski-Inn” was located.

Hello mountains! Hello Caucasus! For 7 days we are yours

Our contests and competitions.

I am a supporter of games and competitions. Everyone from young to old loves to play and compete. There are many traditions in our camps. Children know and love them. They want everything! But there are only 24 hours in a day… This time we managed to hold competitions in subgroups – in

arm wrestling, checkers, chess, “Uno” cards. They also revealed the strongest in swimming and holding their breath underwater. We held a competition for the best poems and songs. The winner was determined in the nominations “the best athlete of the shift” (Matvey Gusev), the man-“cant” (the owner of the largest number of punishments – Yura Myasishchev). All received special prizes in the form of Sochi Olympic souvenirs, hats, clothes.

The farewell party was celebrated with ice cream “from Shihan” and swimming in the warm night sea.

Results.

I always watch my students at different moments of our life together: in camps, competitions, training, hiking, etc. I firmly know “with whom I would go on reconnaissance, and with whom not.” After this change, everyone’s eyes were on fire! I see that everyone liked it, although of course some of the younger participants aged 8-9 sometimes missed home in the evenings. I myself spent all my childhood in camps, including five 45 day shifts in the Sochi region, in the village. A host and I know what it’s like to be away from home. BUT!… Be that as it may, but all these impressions from training, penalties, learning new things, communicating with friends, etc. will remain with everyone until the end of life! I am sure about that!

Life must be experienced by touch, not from a TV screen. That is why I take my youngest son from the age of 4 to our sports camps so that he grows up as a real man, and not a sissy.

I want to thank my parents again for the trust placed in me and our coaches. We will continue to try to work with full dedication for the sake of raising our young generation healthy in all respects!

Hello everyone! Happy Valentine’s day!!!

12/16/2016 14:58 leonid e-mail

Good day! We plan to come to you for the 8th shift, please send the contract by e-mail. We considered the option “economy” because there is a large 5-seater tent to comfortably accommodate, we are a family of three. However, it baffles the question of how realistic it is to reach the camp with her. Let me know if there were any. Another question is whether you have excursions to the stone city in the program?

Good afternoon! Tell me, please, how much can the real weather differ from the weather forecast information? It is clear that you need to be prepared for any weather conditions, but nevertheless, July is very rainy according to the weather in Ergaki?

Answer: Hello! The weather is unpredictable from year to year, but roughly corresponds to the weather forecast. We do not undertake to say what July will be this year.

06/18/2016 07:02 Svetlana e-mail

And what about mosquitoes and ticks from June 24 to July 2? Do I need to take special equipment with me?

Answer: Hello, Svetlana! There are no ticks, there are mosquitoes. You can take something from mosquitoes 🙂

Hello! My friends and I want to go to you for the 8th shift (July 29-August 6) I now live in St. Petersburg, and my friends are in Krasnoyarsk. Is it possible for them to issue a ticket for me, or do I personally need to arrange it (as on the website specified)? Thanks in advance!

Answer: Hello, Natasha! As you wish. You can make an application yourself and I will send you an agreement and an invoice, you can also through friends in Krasnoyarsk

26.04.2016 21:15 Evgenia e-mail

Good afternoon! Tell me, do you have something planned for the May holidays?

Answer: Good afternoon! We have nothing planned for the May holidays. The weather forecast is such that it’s better to stay at home… Tell me, please, is it possible for an unprepared person to climb to the top of the Dragon’s Tooth?

Answer: Hello!!! UNPREPARED PERSON – the concept is very flexible … The route is quite heavy in terms of load …, about the same as going to Khudozhnikov Lake. Technically, it is not very complicated and is accessible to most of those who come to us.

21.03.2016 17:45 Anastasia e-mail

Good afternoon! We are going to come to you with a child – 8 years old. Tell me, is it possible to leave him in the camp if the radial exits are difficult and only adults go? There is some leisure in the camp itself for children or in general for those who stayed.

Thank you.

Answer: Hello, Anastasia! Yes, of course, the child can be left in the camp. For those who stay in the camp, light, short excursions are organized, which are also very interesting. Leisure activities are also organized in the camp during the day (all kinds of games or just socializing . .). I have never seen our children get bored…

11.02.2016 00:15

Elena, hello! It is advisable to redeem vouchers at least 1 week before the start of the shift. Until March 31, we have a promotion – we sell vouchers with a 15% discount. Who was in our camp – a 20% discount – until March 31! … In the case of the “Economy” option, we guarantee a place for a tent in the camp. In the presence of free flooring – we provide flooring. In July-beginning of August, the floorings are usually busy … It is advisable to take warm sleeping bags – the warmer, the more comfortable … At night, the temperature can drop to 0 degrees even in July.

10.02.2016 12:28 Elena e-mail

Hello! We plan to come to you at the end of June. We are traveling from a distance, so we plan ahead. How long does it take to buy tickets? Will your tent (Economy option) also be placed on the deck or directly on the ground? What temperature of comfort and extreme should sleeping bags be designed for?

It’s not yet time for a bath, a fire and “three songs” from Yaroslav! .. The ceiling and walls are crushing … At home, a lot of things to do, but everything falls out of hand! I probably left half of myself in Ergaki. ..

Add me to Odnoklassniki (Antonina Palastyreva), I will be glad to communicate with you!!!

Hello! We rested in the camp “Free City” in the summer of 2012. Please tell me, are there any options for the beginning of September? What is the usual weather, rainy?

Thank you)
