This has been my son’s home away from home for most of his life – since 2019. He is now 3.5 yrs old but he began with Fabi when he was 3 months old. She is like a 3rd grandmother to him – so very loving, full of energy and enthusiasm, really cares about the kids, strives to always do better, andcontinues to learn. I love that she makes all of their meals from scratch and is so passionate about the food and teaching the children about it – what it is, where it comes from, why it’s good for you, etc. She is very flexible, and understanding, and is willing to work closely with the parents in a team effort. Her assistants have always been wonderful and also feel like family – we trust them as much as we trust her. I love that her daycare is bilingual so the children learn both English and Spanish. During COVID she was able to keep her daycare open and available to children of essential workers so we were lucky that my son’s care was uninterrupted. She has taken great care during the pandemic in regard to daycare cleaning, disinfecting, mask-wearing, and getting vaccinated as soon as it was available. She takes great precautions when it comes to your child’s health. Overall, I could not have been happier that I found her for my son. I know she will continue to be a part of our family as he grows up – she is simply the best….

Creative Explorers Child Care

We joined CECC in august 2021 and our daughter quickly fell in love with all the teachers! They were patient and kind with her and truly got to know her and her likes / dislikes. Our daughter was excited for drop off each morning and the teachers seemed genuinely happy to see her each day. They alsoworked with us and the county infants and tots program in working towards speech / language development goals.
The CECC program offers a hands on approach to learning. One of the best parts was getting all the crafts home every week to see what she’s accomplished in that week. The teachers communicated very well both at drop off / pick up and through the app with photos and messages.
I would definitely recommend their program! We decided to move out of the area and were sad to leave CECC. We will miss all the teachers and their hands on support for our daughter….

Veenu’s Daycare

Our son absolutely loved Veenu’s and grew tremendously while under her care. He started at around just 3 months old and stayed for over 2 years with Veenu. Veenu is kind, considerate, and very dedicated to the well-being and development of the kids in her care. I felt like our son was advanced forhis age in terms of language and motor skills that Veenu encouraged the development of. She plans wonderful activities for the kids, we always had an art project to take home, and our son was always happy, well-loved, and engaged during his time with Veenu. We also appreciate that Veenu was flexible with us during a family emergency and safety precautions during COVID. Veenu feels like a part of the family. Our son’s was deeply cared for, well-educated, and encouraged to play/be social/have fun. We so appreciate everything that Veenu has done for our family and would highly recommend her care for your child….

Description:

Little Owlets Academy – early learning center with the focus on the intellectual, moral, social, emotional and physical needs of each child. Our goal is to keep the lights in your children’s eyes on at alltimes and into their adult lives.
When babies are born, their eyes are filled with so much joy, curiosity and bliss – we call that lights! These little beings want to play, please and love. As they mature into toddlers, children, teenagers and then adults – the lights start dimming down as play turns into work, pleasure turns into effort and love turns into hurt.
Our program is based on years of research by family therapists and scientists, who put the biggest focus on keeping the lights on through interactive play, no matter the age. We extend our approach into the families of each child.
Our primary focus is on:
– Establishing a safe and nurturing environment
– Respecting rules and boundaries
– Discovering talents and abilities
– Learning through projects and other team-based activities
– Engaging families in everything that we do
– Learning from each other
We focus on intellectual, moral, social, emotional and physical needs of each child. Our teachers are highly trained professionals who love working with young children and are passionate about the work they do. A big portion of our curriculum is education in different languages and cultures. We address each aspect of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs as follows:
Self-Actualization needs – our individual work with the children is focused on setting up conditions in a way that allows for creativity in the areas the child is curious about and allows them to fulfil their full potential.
Esteem needs – our group and project based activities are focused on promoting the feeling of accomplishment and collaboration.
Belonging and Love needs: – our environment is warm, nurturing and welcoming. Our curriculum is based on the work of child and family systems psychologists, such as Jean Piaget, Maria Montessori, Dr. Adler, Dr. Bogdanov, Dr. Sage and Dr. Dinkmeyer.
Safety needs: – our centers are fully safe proof, the layout is very carefully planned out. We inspect and sanitize our toys and equipment on a daily basis.
Our teachers are CPR/First Aid certified.
Physiological needs – we provide home prepared meals, warm and clean rooms, plenty of time for rest and for outdoor/indoor physical activities….

The Calgary Zoo

The Calgary Zoo is considered the most visited in Canada, because there is something to see. The 120-acre landscaped area is home to over 1,000 animals belonging to 272 different species. And this is not counting the large number of insects and fish.

Calgary Zoo space is divided into 8 themed areas, the names of which speak for themselves – Eurasia, Canadian Wilds, Penguin Plunge, Destination Africa, TransAlta Rainforest, Dorothy Harvey Botanical Garden and Prehistoric Park. Separately, it is worth mentioning the jungle world of ENMAX Conservatory, where hundreds of tropical butterflies flutter among the lush greenery. But the most interesting, especially for children, is hidden in the Panda Passage, where visitors can watch the life of cute and incredibly funny pandas. nine0003

National Music Center

All music fans visiting Calgary should stop by the stunning National Music Center called Studio Bell. It has a unique collection of over 2,000 rare instruments. Some of them belonged to famous musicians who made an invaluable contribution to the development of various styles. For example, such exhibits include a mobile studio where the Rolling Stones recorded their hits, and Sir Elton John’s piano. A separate hall of the center is dedicated to the history of Canadian country music. nine0003

Banff National Park

The nature of Banff National Park is so impressive that it is often called the most beautiful nature reserve in the world. It is located in the Rocky Mountains, whose severe charm makes everyone who has ever been here come here again and again – it is not without reason that it is considered one of the best places to visit near Calgary.

A walk through the reserve will allow you to see everything that Canada’s nature is famous for – mighty glaciers, dense coniferous forests, turbulent mountain rivers and a mirror-like surface of quiet lakes. Here you can roam the hiking trails, ride the rides and even relax in the wooden chopped bath, set next to the sulfur springs. nine0003

About 56 species of animals and many birds live in the forests of the national park. Most of them are absolutely not afraid of people, but it is better not to approach such predators as bears, wolves, cougars and lynxes – they can attack.

Gasoline Alley Museum

The Gasoline Alley Automotive Museum is of interest to anyone interested in retro vehicles. It is located within the Historic Village of the Heritage Park and consists of two floors. The first exhibited vintage cars and all sorts of components – fuel pumps, gas tanks and the like. Part of the exposition is occupied by an interesting collection of signs from old car shops from the early 20th century. nine0003

In the basement of the museum there is an unusual cinema – if you sit in a retro car, a projector automatically turns on, showing old automotive films on the wall. There is also a play area with cars and a railway for children.

Bowmont Park

Bowmont City Park is located on the north bank of the Bow River. You can get here from the top of the slope formed by glacial lake Calgary. This is the territory of the university communities of Bowness and Montgomery – the park bears a name that comes from combinations of these names. Bowmont is worth a visit because of the magnificent views of nature, the Bow River and the city itself. Especially for this, several observation platforms were built here, from where you can take amazing photos. nine0003

Calgary Central Public Library

The new Calgary Central Public Library is centrally located near City Hall. Its opening took place not so long ago – in the fall of 2018, after which it immediately became a landmark cultural and architectural landmark of the city. The unusual design of the oval facade made of glass and steel, as well as the luxurious finishes of the premises, immediately attract attention. nine0003

Its central hall is a four-story atrium with a skylight topped with shelves containing over 450,000 titles. There are entertainment centers for library visitors, a children’s area and even a sitting room where you can have a cup of coffee. Separately, it is worth mentioning the highest level of customer service – there is no such service in any of the cities of North America.
