I’m glad that you are exploring our weekday preschool online and ask that you contact me, Chris Conner Preschool Director, at [email protected] if you have questions that are unanswered. The preschool was started in 1987 and has grown throughout the years. The preschool is part of Montgomery Community Church, an Ohio licensed Preschool program that does not discriminate in accepting children because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the Montgomery Community Church Preschool is to provide a learning environment in a Christian setting. The program encourages the development of each child’s social, intellectual, and physical skills, as well as spiritual growth in order to prepare each child for the formal learning experience. As the children experience different developmentally appropriate activities encompassing the arts, language development, math, science, social studies, pre-reading, writing, music, and Chapel, we believe they will come away from their preschool years self-confident and more creative.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

MCC Preschool philosophy states “We believe that, when exposed to a loving and caring Christian atmosphere, the social and academic development of children will be enhanced.” Children need inter-relationships with people and a variety of new experiences to ready them for the formalized learning that will be expected of them soon. Thank you for visiting Montgomery Community Church Preschool!

Blessings,
Chris Conner, Preschool Director

The needs of each child are of the utmost importance. The selection of staff is based on their love for children, their Christian commitment, and appropriate educational training and teaching experience. All lead teachers hold a bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in education and are chosen because they have expertise in training and caring for young children.

Assistants hold a minimum of a high school diploma, have a love for young children, and have experience working with young children.  All staff members are required to attend 6 hours of professional development each year and Child Abuse Recognition. Several staff members are also trained in CPR, First Aid, and Communicable Disease Recognition. All have background checks required by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Birth to 2 Years

Your baby will experience personal care from our well-staffed volunteer team. We keep our nursery rooms ready for your little ones with age-appropriate toys that are thoroughly cleaned between services. We also take time to love and pray for your baby each week.

3 Years – 4 Years

In preschool, children start to engage more with their church experience, so we help them interact and build their faith through stories, crafts, and songs that give them Biblical truths. They also start to form relationships with other kids and their teachers.

K – 6th Grade

Every weekend, your children Kindergarten through sixth grade, come to our programing where they experience dynamic worship and Biblical teaching. Together, they learn about the Bible and how to have a relationship with God, memorize Scripture, and have fun developing friendships with each other.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

When you arrive, our team will happily show you the way to the children’s area. You’ll go to the first-time check-in station where you can tell us a little about your family to help us serve you well.

Check-In

Your child is important to us. On your first visit, we need the following personal information: parent/legal guardian names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for each child. This information is entered into our database to help maintain our secure check-in system.

Plan a visit

Safety

All MCC Kids volunteers pass a background check, and are trained to work with your child. We also have our own safety team to ensure your child’s safety. We use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up, and a text message paging system for parents/guardians in case we need to reach you during the worship experience.

Special Needs: Hope Room

We aim to serve our families in every way possible, and will be re-launching our “Hope Room” in the near future to support our families that have children with “Special Needs”

We exist to come alongside of parents in their child’s spiritual development so that, in God’s time, the child will come to have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

We provide a child-centered environment where children learn the Biblical narrative about the person of Christ, the role of the Holy Spirit and pursue transformation so that children can recognize His voice and respond to the call.

We also believe that spiritual formation is dependent on a partnership with parents because parents are primarily responsible before God for their child’s spiritual journey.

With that in mind, we are honored to partner with families on their faith journey by providing inspiration, resources, and support.

We believe that to grow spiritually healthy families, parents must be equipped to be the primary nurturers of their kid’s faith (Deuteronomy 6), that the faith community needs to play a supportive role in this endeavor (Ephesians 4), and that we must remain dependent on the Holy Spirit to bring about spiritual growth and formation when and as He chooses (Philippians 2:13).

We believe the best environment for kids to learn is one that promotes safety and where a child is known and feel loved. Our role as the church is to create environments that foster the work of the Holy Spirit.
