What is the “Little Miracle”?
Little Miracle Early Development Center was opened ten years ago. But the idea of creating such a center has been discussed for a long time. She appeared at the director of our school Mamaeva Tatyana Vladimirovna and the deputy director for socio-psychological issues Kislitsyna Galina Viktorovna. Many parents with children under three years of age wish to cooperate with the staff of the Ordinary Miracle kindergarten school. But since the enrollment of children in the second junior group begins at the age of three, it was proposed to open short-stay groups for children aged from 1 year 2 months to three years.
The Little Miracle Center was opened on October 7, 2004. The main goal of our center is to help young children gain their first social experience in small groups, because modern pedagogical science asserts that for a child after one and a half years, an integrated type of education that organically combines family and social forms can become the most beneficial. Through social interactions, children discover themselves, learn about human relationships, and develop interpersonal skills.
What program do we follow?
At the heart of all the work of the center is the concept of the “Step by step” program – children develop best when they are subjects of their own learning. The learning “environment” – the environment in which the children are – itself encourages children to explore it, awakens their initiative and creativity.
For the youngest children, learning in the Step by step program is characterized by three parameters:
- individualization of the approach to learning
- learning through play and making choices
- family involvement
What underlies the content of our center?
Assistance to the family in the adaptation of the child in the social world. In our opinion, it is very important to take into account the age characteristics of young children, organize the right developmental space and help adults accompanying the child to competently interact with him.
The main directions of development in which the activities of the Center are carried out :
- physical development and health,
- play activities,
- learning process / intellectual development /,
- development of vital social skills,
- the formation of basic skills that ensure the safety of life.
The main provisions that determine the content of the work:
- individual approach to each child and each family member, based on their interests, abilities and capabilities,
- systematic and consistent,
- cooperation between teachers and parents in the process of raising and educating children, the formation of a team of like-minded teachers-parents.
What is the mode of operation and how groups are formed?
Groups are formed by age. The age difference is 1-2 months. The number of children in the group is 5-6 people.
Classes are held in the first half of the day according to the schedule:
1 lesson at 9:00 / Lesson 2 at 10:15 / Lesson 3 at 11:20
Children attend 3 lessons per week – 2 lessons in the large playroom, and 1 lesson at the choice of parents: in the pool or small playroom.
Is it compulsory for adults to attend the class?
According to our system, the presence of one of the adult close relatives is mandatory. After all, in the lesson around the kid there are many other children, adults with whom he can communicate, but he is next to his mother – and he is not afraid.
Are children prepared for kindergarten?
We have the program “Big Miracle” Since some of the children from our Center go to the kindergarten “Ordinary Miracle”, it is important for us that adaptation to the conditions of the kindergarten is “soft”. This adaptation program also helps those children who go to other kindergartens in the city. This is a very important task solved by teachers throughout the year. The conditions for children in the center are as close as possible to the conditions of a kindergarten. Parents are consulted on the formation of cultural and hygienic skills. Being together with the child, parents have the opportunity to quickly get acquainted with the requirements and traditions of the kindergarten, regulate the child’s home regime with the regime in kindergarten, learn to select the necessary material, look at the teacher’s profession differently. In April, children get acquainted with the space of the kindergarten, visiting the Gnomes group, music, sports halls, art studio, get acquainted with the teachers and specialists who will work with them. They attend the preparatory group “Miracle City”, where older preschoolers tell them about life in kindergarten.

Why are we not adherents of the forced early mental development of children?

Every parent wants his child to be intellectually developed. But we do not belong to the adherents of the forced early mental development of children and we believe that such an approach, in addition to the external visible result, can cause great harm to the child: his personal development / intelligence to the detriment of feelings and communication with other people / can be deformed, and intellectual overload will affect the state his health and physical development. A child at this age absorbs everything like a sponge. And it is important that it does not turn into pumice.
In the first three years of life, the most important and fundamental human abilities are laid – cognitive activity, curiosity, self-confidence and trust in other people, purposefulness and perseverance, imagination, creativity and much more. Kids are happy to pour water from one bowl to another, check whether toys are sinking or floating, launch boats. Children are interested in kneading the dough, sculpting pies, figurines, pretzels out of it. Kids are invited to pour beans, peas from a cup into a bowl, pour cereal into a cup with a spoon.
The group has a “Magic Room”, which is equipped with a corner for children’s experimentation: games with water, loose, plastic materials, objects interesting for research and observation.
Crushing plasticine, tearing paper, feeling objects of different textures and densities, the child learns various properties and qualities of objects and materials: hardness, softness, heat, cold, heaviness, etc. By disassembling and assembling toys and household items, kids learn how they arranged. Leading the balls through the labyrinth, rolling them along the tray, trying to open a box with a complex lock, the kid solves the most real mental problems.
Each educator of the Center is required to have increased sensitivity to the state of the baby, expressive movements and facial expressions, artistry. The teacher educates not with words, but with his feelings, actions and deeds.
We do not conduct organized frontal lessons with young children, when the teacher explains or shows something, and the children “learn”. Such activities are not only ineffective, but also harmful, because they can paralyze the children’s own activity. The task of the educator at this age is to stimulate the activity of each child, to arouse his desire to act, communicate, play, and solve practical problems. We emotionally involve children, create a common semantic field. This is the only way to convey to the child an interest in a new activity, to attract and captivate with it, and thus arouse his own desire.
Play is a universal method of education for young children. Any game has a complex educational impact: it requires both mental, strong-willed, and physical efforts, and coordination of one’s actions with others, and brings emotional satisfaction. At the same time, in relation to early age, there are specific and specific developmental tasks. First of all, this is the development of objective activity, as the leading one at this stage.
