Holly Bailey biography, photo, personal life, family, her boyfriend, height and weight 2023

Biography of Holly Bailey

The name of Halle Bailey first thundered to a wide audience in 2016. Together with their sister Chloe, they turned from unknown girls into stars supporting Beyoncé. This was followed by filming clips, nominations for Grammy, own music albums and first film roles.

In 2019, Holly was cast as Ariel in The Little Mermaid. The choice of the actress divided the audience into two camps: some supported Bailey, others believed that a dark-skinned girl was not suitable for the role of a sea princess, because in the Disney cartoon the little mermaid was light-skinned. However, in 2022, skeptics watched the trailer for the upcoming film and made sure that Holly looks organic in the image of Ariel.

Actress and singer Halle Bailey

Childhood and family

Holly Lynn Bailey was born in Mableton, Georgia on March 27, 2000. She became the second child in the family – she has a 2-year older sister Chloe. And later, in 2005, the family was replenished with another child – the newborn Branson.

Girls parents: Doug and Courtney Bailey. It is known that the head of the family in 2007 was convicted of domestic violence – he beat his wife. The man escaped prison, but was forced to 9months of attending anger management courses. Apparently, the black streak of the family has long been left behind. Holly and Chloe regularly express their love to their parents, telling how both supported them on their way to fame. And Doug became a personal lawyer and manager for his daughters.

Halle Bailey with her sister as a child

Thanks to a small difference in age, the girls grew up together. Even as a child, the sisters began by entertaining themselves while their mother was busy with housework. In 2008, their father began to teach them music. The girls spent a lot of time playing musical instruments and watching instructional videos online.

In 2012, the family moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the heart of the world of show business. Holly went to a local school, which she graduated in 2018 – by this time her name was already well known.

Music: Chloe x Halle

In 2011, Holly and Chloe launched the Chloe x Halle YouTube channel, where they began to upload their work. One of the girls’ first videos was a cover of Beyoncé’s hit “Pretty Hurts”. Then they covered another famous single of the singer – “Best Thing I Never Had”.

Girls also recorded covers for songs by other artists, such as Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and other stars. But it was Beyoncé’s songs that brought them popularity, it was these videos that became viral and scattered across social networks.

In 2012, the girls were invited to the studio by the host of the evening TV show The Ellen Show, Ellen DeGeneres. Soon, Beyoncé herself drew attention to the singers. She shared a video with the sisters’ cover on her social networks. Holly and Chloe were contacted by Beyoncé and offered a lucrative five-year contract ($1 million for six albums) with her music label Parkwood Entertainment.

In 2016, the girls were the opening act for the singer’s Formation world tour. In addition, they starred in the video film “Lemonade”, dedicated to the release of Beyoncé’s self-titled album.

Halle Bailey in Lemonade

In the same year, US First Lady Michelle Obama contacted the singers, offering them to record the charity single “This Is for My Girls” with Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, Kelly Rowland and other stars. Michelle used the song in her “Let Girls Learn” campaign to eliminate female illiteracy. With the same song, the girls performed at the annual South by Southwest festival in Austin.

And 2016 brought them their first album. There were only 4 songs on the debut album “Sugar Symphony”, which quickly became hits. The girls shot videos for the songs “Fall” and “Drop”, which received several million views.

Chloe x Halle – Fall

A year later, the Bailey sisters released The Two of Us mixtape, which was widely acclaimed by critics. Rolling Stone magazine even named the collection one of the best R&B records of the year.

In 2018, the duo presented their first studio album, The Kids Are Alright. The composition “Grown” became the theme song for the TV series Grown Up. And the single “Warrior” was included in the soundtrack of the film “A Wrinkle in Time”.

The record earned Chloe x Halle two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album. The sisters also opened for Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “On the Run II Tour” concert tour. “We learned so much on this tour, like how to interact with 50,000 listeners,” Holly later admitted.

In 2019, the sisters were invited to perform at the Super Bowl – at the main sporting event of the year they performed the song “America the Beautiful”. A week later, Holly and Chloe were already singing on stage at the Grammy Awards. The duet was entrusted to perform a song by Donnie Hathaway 1972 years “Where Is the Love”.

After a year of fruitful work, the singers presented their fans with another disc, Ungodly Hour. 2020 brought them a number of nominations – Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Dance Performance at the Soul Train Music Awards, Best Progressive R&B Album, Best R&B Song and Best R&B performance” at the Grammy.

Chloe and Holly performed “Baby Girl” at the Billboard 2020 Women in Music Awards. On stage, Beyoncé presented the singers with the prestigious Rising Star Award.

Acting career

Both sisters appeared in films from an early age. For example, back in 2003, Chloe first met Beyoncé on the set of the comedy Fight the Temptations. Bailey played the singer’s character as a child.

And Holly had to wait until 2006 for her film debut, when she was entrusted with a small character in the comedy The Last Vacation. Subsequently, the girls appeared in episodes of the series Payne Home, Austin & Ally, and the film Let It Shine (2012).

Holly and Chloe Bailey on Austin & Ally

Already much more prominent characters Holly and Chloe were entrusted in the 2018 series Grown Up, for which they also recorded the title song. Holly played Sky Forster and left the show at the end of the fourth season – according to the plot, her character graduated from college and began her adult life. In the summer of 2019, the sisters released the video clip “Who Knew” for a new composition from the series.

Halle Bailey in Grown Ups

July 2019It became known that Holly was approved for the role of Princess Ariel in the upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, and will also work on the soundtrack for the film. Director Rob Marshall stated that “Holly has a rare combination of spirit, youth, innocence, warmth, and also a great voice.”

“The Little Mermaid” – teaser

Participation in The Little Mermaid was Holly’s first such serious role without the participation of her sister. But such an important moment in the life of the singer was overshadowed by the reaction of the public: fans of the Disney cartoon took hostility to the fact that Ariel would be played by a black star. The hashtag #NotMyAriel went viral on social networks, under which users criticized the choice of the actress and offered their own options for the role of the little mermaid.

Halle Bailey in The Little Mermaid

Holly was defended by Freeform, which produced the series Grown Up. In their official letter, it was said that the Little Mermaid, like the author of the fairy tale of the same name, Hans Christian Andersen, comes from Denmark. In the past, this country was a powerful empire and bought slaves from Africa, so people with dark skin were not a curiosity there. In addition, the singer was supported by Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Nicki Minaj, Halle Berry and many other stars.

Style

Holly is a big fan of fashion. Her personal stylist Zerina Akers, who also collaborates with Beyoncé, is responsible for her images on the red carpet of social events. She tries to match the Bailey sisters’ outfits so that Holly and Chloe go well with each other.

Images of Halle Bailey and her sister

In 2017, Holly and Chloe starred in an advertising campaign for Ivy Park and for the Rodarte FW18 collection, and took part in the Dolce & Gabbana fall fashion show. In addition, the Bailey sisters have appeared on the digital covers of Paper and Essence.

Halle Bailey’s private life

After the sisters gained popularity, they purchased real estate in the North Hollywood area. In her free time, Holly runs, swims and rides a lot of bicycles. In 2021, she got a cat named Poseidon.

At the end of the same year, it became known that the girl was dating rapper and blogger DDG (his real name is Darryl Duane Granberry Jr.). In March 2022, the musician confirmed their relationship by posting a joint video in honor of his beloved’s birthday. In the caption, he confessed his love to Holly. And in August, Bailey starred in the rapper’s video for the song “If I Want You.”

Holly Bailey & DDG

Holly Bailey is now

In 2021, Bailey solo, without her sister, took part in the TV festival dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Disney World. She performed the song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”.

In September 2022, a teaser trailer for the future “The Little Mermaid” appeared on the network, which launched another wave of criticism against Holly. However, this time the filmmakers paid more attention to the PR campaign: videos began to spread on the Internet, in which small black children watched the video with the participation of the star and rejoiced at her appearance on the screen.

Children’s reaction to The Little Mermaid

Holly prefers to ignore reproaches. “Knowing that I gave 110% in this film, I am really proud of myself,” said the actress.

The premiere of the tape was scheduled for May 2023. And Holly has already landed the lead role in the musical film The Color Purple alongside Danielle Brooks and Elizabeth Marvel. The actress also auditioned for the drama The Line.

Interesting facts

  • The role of Ariel Bailey was largely due to vocal abilities. In the cartoon 19For 89 years, several actresses worked on the image of the sea princess. Appearance and facial expressions were copied from 16-year-old Alyssa Milano, voiced by the heroine Jodi Benson, and Sherry Stoner gave her plastic surgery. But according to the new rules, in order for the picture to qualify for an Oscar, the main character must independently sing and act. Holly was able to cope with these tasks.

How to write a clinical professor resume (with template)

I

If you are a registered nurse with a passion for education, you can become a clinical professor. This prestigious job requires a set of credentials, and creating an impressive resume can help showcase your candidacy to hiring managers. To prepare for applying for clinical professor positions at colleges and universities, it’s helpful to know what resumes for these positions typically include. In this article, we’ll explain what a clinical professor is, offer a seven-step process to help you write a clinical professor resume, and share a template and example to help you navigate.

What is a clinical professor?

A clinical professor is a teacher who guides students in undergraduate and graduate clinical nursing classes. Clinical practice is an experimental component of nursing school education in which nursing students practice their skills in a hospital setting under the supervision of a clinical professor. These professionals sometimes also lecture in the classroom on theoretical topics in nursing, but some only work with students during clinical sessions. They typically supervise students as they intern with professional nurses, advise them on skills development, and evaluate their progress. Clinical professors usually hold a nursing license, such as a registered nurse (RN). Their duties may include:

  • Defining and communicating learning objectives to nursing students

  • supervision of nursing students in hospital settings such as childbirth, emergency department and intensive care unit

  • Answering students’ questions during and outside of class

  • Evaluation of student work during the course

  • Coordination with university and hospital

  • Reviewing drug orders, drug counseling and patient care for accuracy

  • Learning the latest advances in clinical nursing

How to Write a Clinical Professor Resume

Here are seven steps you can follow when creating your own clinical professor resume:

1. Enter your contact information

Put your name at the top of the resume. Choose a professional and easy-to-read font so that potential employers can understand your name at a glance. Next, you can add your phone number, email address, and a link to a professional website or social media account if you have one. The link can be especially useful if you are publishing nursing research or medical articles, as you can direct hiring managers to a collection of your research papers.

2. Write a Professional Resume

Next, you can write a Professional Resume, which is a brief overview of your career. You can mention your degrees, career goals, and core work experience. An effective professional resume that summarizes your many accomplishments and highlights your most significant skills. Most schools are likely to want to hire clinical professors with a lot of experience, so it’s a good idea to list your years as a nurse and talk about specializations such as pediatrics or emergency nursing.

3. Explain your work experience

Include entries for each relevant position you have held. Include your position, employer name and dates of your employment. Below that, you can add bullet points detailing some of your key responsibilities. When you discuss your responsibilities, try to use specific language and talk about the positive results of your actions. It may be helpful to include numerical data to support your claims, such as the number of patients you have worked with each day, the reward you have received, or the percentage by which you have improved student grades.

To draw attention to your relevant work experience, try to highlight duties that reflect what you might be able to do as a clinical professor. You can describe in detail your duties as a nurse and the clinical setting you have worked in, but you can also show leadership or teaching experience. For example, if you have supervised team members, trained other nurses, or evaluated team performance, including these items on your resume may be helpful.

4. Add your skills

Working as a clinical professor requires a unique combination of nursing experience and teaching ability, and the section on your skills can be an opportunity to highlight your qualifications. Be sure to include a balanced list of hard and soft skills to showcase your abilities as a nurse and your ability to get along with students. Here are some skills that might be useful on a clinical professor resume:

Ethics

Professional nurses can face ethical dilemmas, so it’s important that you can show students how to make principled decisions. Successful clinical professors conduct themselves professionally, are able to navigate common issues, and demonstrate empathy when discussing and treating patients. Mentioning ethics on your resume can show employers that you have a solid set of professional values and an expert understanding of the legal regulations that healthcare professionals follow.

Leadership skills

Practicing leadership skills will enable you to lead groups of nursing students through this challenging and exciting learning curve. It is helpful if you can motivate students, set reasonable expectations, give clear directions, and earn students’ trust. Giving constructive, focused feedback is a vital leadership skill that enables educators to help students develop their skills, and an encouraging and endearing demeanor can help you create a productive learning environment.

Nursing Skills

It is helpful to demonstrate your competency as a nurse on a resume, so consider listing some of your key skills as a nurse. Basic nursing techniques, patient education, medical record keeping, and clinical record keeping are all important basic skills that you can pass on to nursing students, as well as detailing any specialty, such as nursing in the ICU, geriatrics, or neonatal unit. Pointing out your familiarity with nursing tools, related programs, and routine processes such as dialysis and wound care can help hiring managers introduce you to this position.

5. Discuss your education

Since these nurses teach students at the post-secondary level, it will be helpful if the candidates themselves are highly educated. It is essential to have at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, but most clinical professors also have a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Some states require a college degree, and many employers give preference to candidates with a college degree, such as a master’s or doctoral degree. List your diplomas in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent diploma you received.

6. List any additional credentials

Clinical professors are typically RNs, so it is important to let potential employers know that your license is active. If you have other professional certifications, please list them to show the breadth of your experience. Some relevant certifications may include:

  • Basic life support (BLS)

  • Registered Critical Care Nurse (CCRN)

  • Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN)

7. Check your resume for accuracy

Editing and proofreading will help you identify areas for improvement and make sure you’re presenting a professional, accurate resume. Make sure there are no typos in your contact information so that potential employers can easily contact you if they want to schedule an interview. Find places where you could use stronger verbs, reflect the job description better, or add a metric to quantify your claims.
