Family Place Libraries
Civic Center Library and Mustang Library are Family Place Libraries!
Family Place Libraries™ is a network of children’s librarians nationwide who believe that literacy begins at birth and that libraries can help build healthy communities by nourishing healthy families. Each library features an early learning space which is stocked with hands-on play items to support growth and development in young learners.
Read On Scottsdale
Read on Scottsdale was formed in support of Read On Arizona. The Scottsdale Public Library, working in partnership with the Scottsdale Family Resource Center and the Scottsdale Unified School District as well as other stakeholders seeks to ensure that all children achieve the third-grade reading benchmark. We are working together to address the challenges in improving reading achievement in Scottsdale – particularly among our at-risk children.
Scottsdale Family Resource Center
The Scottsdale Family Resource Center provides a variety of services to support families, parents, caregivers, expectant parents and their young children ages birth through age five (not yet in kindergarten). Located in South Scottsdale at the Paiute Neighborhood Center, the Family Resource Center offers guidance and support for families with young children by providing access to resources, referrals to support services and access to educational programs to ensure healthy growth and development for Scottsdale’s youngest learners and their families as they grow and thrive together.
