Sarasota County Schools Survey| Admissions, Requirements, Ratings
Sarasota has one of the largest concentrations of prestigious schools in the state of Florida.
The Sarasota County School District prioritizes learning to prepare all students for productive, responsible, and healthy lives.
This is an A-rated school district that is committed to ensuring that every student graduates on time from college or is career ready and helps students achieve personal and academic success.
These are among the top ranked schools in Sarasota on a range of criteria, including academic excellence and equity;
1. Pine View School:
Pine View School offers a fundamentally different learning environment that promotes curiosity, encourages risk-taking, independence and innovation and is dedicated to academic excellence and social responsibility.
The large campus has a special curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of intellectually gifted students in grades 2 through 12.
Administrators, teachers, employees, or parents can assign students to Pine View. I will refer those who pass the test to the school psychologist for evaluation.
In addition, students who qualify for the Gifted Magnets program must start school on the first day of the school year. There is no admission after the first day of school.
Parents/guardians who wish to begin the referral process for any exceptional student education program must reside in Sarasota County or another county in Florida. Students’ files cannot be processed unless they provide proof of residence in Florida.
Proof of residence requires formal proof of address, such as a signed lease, electricity bill, or water bill with your name, address, and the current date.
Pine View has established a scholarship in memory of colleague and coach Shannon Donovan, who passed away on September 8, 2021.
The coach was an outspoken advocate for the interests of students, families, and the community, and was the driving force behind school community service to meet these needs.
Coach Donovan was the epitome of a great role model for Pine View students, and so the Coach Donovan Memorial Scholarship was established and is still in use at Pine View today.
2.

After careful examination of each application in the order in which it was submitted. There is a non-refundable application fee of $250.00.

You can find application and student data release forms online. You must request copies of transcripts, past test scores, and two student reference documents from your child’s school or child care provider (if applicable).
