Our Play Based Curriculum

• The Learn and Play system gets children excited about learning through activities that reward curiosity and games that promote cooperation and focus. Children learn best when children are having fun playing.
• The Learn and Play curriculum aims to meet the varying touchstones of each developmental stage, while simultaneously maintaining flexibility regarding each individual child’s needs.
• Children participate in art, science, music, dramatic play, social studies, reading, writing, math, computers and multicultural activities.
• Familiarizing children with technological tools is essential to the world we live in today and it is mainstay of our program. Through lessons, projects, and guided exploration of the computer and its educational possibilities, Learn and Play children (ages 2 and up) are introduced to basic computer applications and state of art learning games that expand a child’s creative and intellectual domain.

Our Teachers

• Learn and Play teachers are dedicated trained professionals who believe that by creating a warm, fun, and nurturing environment, a child’s innate curiosity and creativity can inspire and propel his/her education.
• Our experienced teachers work cooperatively to organize and implement fun activities that will enhance a child’s language skills, social skills, self-help skills, cognitive skills, fine/gross motor skills and most importantly, that will help develop great self esteem.
• Teachers are First Aid and CPR Certified and meet state education and experience qualification requirements.

One-time fee of $125 for registration applies for all programs.

• Transitioning children from non-verbal to verbal ( sounds, expressions, body language and oral language)

• Physical Development: small and large muscle movement through coordination and control
• Learning through play : art projects and special activities created to help children develop and learn through play

This program provides:

• Encouraging independence and problem solving
• Hands on learning through weekly creative curriculum geared towards a theme of the week
• Communication through use of conversational skills
• Developing friendships with children in classroom
• Hands on experiences to develop social skills, creative expression and emphasizing fun throughout the day

Program made for children ages 4 – 5 years old in preparation for Kindergarten.

Learn and Play’s Pre K Program is developed to guide children towards:

• Learning and developing independence while using skills such as problem solving and communication
• Making new friends while providing opportunities to practice social and emotional skills. ( encouraging cooperation and other life skills)
• Letter, shape, number, and word recognition/ writing
• Child development through respect for diversity among communities
• Creative hands on and project based learning

All Weather Playground! Accessible throughout all seasons.

The children will go outside daily, rain or shine!

The all weather playground is developed to allow children to go outside on a daily basis to enjoy fresh air and physical activity.

There are jungle gyms as well as open space that encourages the children to use their imagination to create games as well as play games such as soccer and basketball.

Quality early learning experiences lead to long-term success in school and life. The Glazer Children’s Museum believes in engaging parents, caregivers, and children in playful learning opportunities. Learn & Play Tampa Bay classes are offered at no cost to you at sites throughout Hillsborough County. Funding for this program is generously provided by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.

LEARN & PLAY TAMPA BAY OFFERS

• Social interactions with other parents

After registering for our program, come play in any location. Due to the limited capacity room size at each site, the sign-up process will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
