AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Laurel KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it. )

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • My child has been enrolled at this KinderCare for over six months, before he started he was not very social. Thanks to his teachers and staff at KinderCare he has became more social and loves school. I’m so happy  to bring him here everyday with no worries. I would recommend Laurel KinderCare to anyone!!!!

    Horace C. – KinderCare Parent
  • I am Joshua’s Dad.  When Joshua was 14 months old, he could not speak, and this makes me a little worried. The pediatrician made a referral to a local program called the “Infant and Toddler”. The program sent a teacher to our house two days a week with a speech therapy to teach Joshua how to use and create words and subsequently evaluate his progress. After three months Joshua was requested to do hearing test. The justification for the test was a little sketchy for me as a healthcare provider myself. So, after the test, I have to discontinue the program effective immediately against their strong objection. Really, I don’t see what they are doing to help Joshua. So,  I enrolled Josh at Kinder care and kind of gave them 3 months to see what happens. Guess what!  Joshua was choreographically molded in 24 days into a talking parrot. He was able to use his words articulately.  Now he can hold a simple conversation without missing words. Thank you guys for a terrific job.

  • I rank Russet KinderCare as one of the best daycare providers. I have comfort knowing that the staff chosen to care for my child is carefully selected. My child was not mistreated. The daycare staff keeps me informed at all times about my child (open communication). I always feel like my child and I are respected and valued as priority. Russet KinderCare fosters firm educational growth, social enhancements, and a fun environment. Sending my child to Russett KinderCare is one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Trust me parents, as a critical and detail oriented parent, I am highly satisfied with the service, teachers, and management of Russett KinderCare.

  • My son has attended Russet KinderCare since he was twelve weeks old. The teachers in the Infant room work diligently every day to help him develop new motor skills, sleep habits and manners. I am confident that my son is learning and growing every day at Russet KinderCare. I would not have been able to give him all the positive experiences he receives at KinderCare on my own.

    Tracy M. – KinderCare Parent
  • The fabulous ladies at KinderCare are more than we could ask for when it comes to taking care of our daughter. I love the fact that the room is large and provides more than enough room for our little one to crawl (and eventually walk). Everyday we get a full report on what she did for the day, they always take the time to write detailed feedback on the daily form. The ladies are beyond sweet and provide amazing love and dedication to the children they take care of everyday. I never have worry or concern dropping my daughter off each day, I know that she has fun and learns amazing things. The director and front office staff are always available and always great you with a smile. I truly appreciate all that KinderCare provides to my daughter

  • Kindercare has been family to us since the first day we started bringing our son in. Our initial interest in Kindercare came from Miss Tonya, as she politely and promptly escorted someone off the premises that was loitering in the lobby. We knew then, that our newborn baby was going to be in good hands.
Since our son first arrived, he has grown and actually wakes up excited to get the day started at Kindercare. All of the staff have been a big reason for his excitement and has had a tremendous impact in his growth and development. His bond with his teachers has been special, as he’s grown with his educators from the infant and toddler classes. He was just 3 months when he started. He is now 17 months, and is now running around and getting into everything. He is also a fast learner thanks to the dedication and hard work his teachers have put in.
We would like to thank all the members of the Kindercare staff for a job well done. You’ve helped us during a special time in our life and we are truly appreciative. We will definitely miss it here and hope to find a place that will give our family the love and care that Kindercare has shown us during our time here.

    Taylor Family – KinderCare Parent
  • We have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. During the past three years we have been through 5 different daycare facilities with me leaving pretty upset with the way they were run, in terms of the treatment of children and numerous problems that revolved around safety, cleanliness, engagement and administrative practices. When I walked into KinderCare Russet it was on a whim. I thought I would hate it, but decided to check it out. I visited the toddler room and was very impressed with the way the teachers were engaged with the kids and how loving the environment was. The teachers were enthusiastically singing and dancing in one room, while another teacher had her group sitting down listening to stories in another group. My husband and I ended up choosing KinderCare Russet over a brand new, highly respected daycare because of how engaging the teachers were.

Fatima and Tonya have done such an excellent job running the center. They are always warm and friendly. The first time I met Fatima, I thought she was a teacher because she was in the classroom actively involved. Tonya knows every parent by first name and considers everyone to be family. They stay on top of what needs to be done from cleaning the facility, ensuring administrative processes are up to date and make a noticeable effort to only hire the best teachers who are dedicated to actually helping children learn and develop. This has been a refreshing change from my past experiences. Every other center I have been in doesn’t compare. I have never worried about my son after drop off. The communication I get from the teachers is outstanding as well. When my son has been home sick, or when I hadn’t been to the center in a while, one of my son’s teachers, Ms. Vicki would even call to see how he was and give me updates on his progress.

While this isn’t the prettiest place aesthetically, it’s a beautiful environment that I wish we had found earlier. I am very thankful to the administration and teachers of KinderCare Russet.

    Rhonda S. – KinderCare Parent
  • Our son started at KinderCare Russet Laurel when he was four months old. From the second we walked in to do a tour, we were welcomed with open arms. I knew we found the perfect daycare. Our eight-year-old twins also stayed there from time to time when school was out and they loved it! They always ask when they are going back! It is always scary to leave your baby with strangers but the staff was always comforting, informative and accommodating to my needs and concerns as well as our sons development and needs. Miss Razia, Juliet, Melissa and Rachel have been the staple teachers in his care since his first day. All of them have their unique way of caring for him and it warms our hearts how much they treat him like their own.

The exceptional staff didn’t end with them, every single staff member I have encountered either in passing or who cared for our children has always been so friendly. Fatima (Center Director) and Miss Tonya (Assistant Director) have done an EXCELLENT job in making Russet Laurel a center to be proud of, where families feel comfortable and safe leaving their children. Our baby, now toddler, goes to daycare everyday with a smile on his face, excited to be there and comes home with the same happy face! He is now 14 months and has grown and learned so much under their care. Unfortunately, we are moving out of the state and have to leave. We are saddened but forever grateful to have found this beautiful daycare center and the amazing staff in it!

Social media users were divided into two almost identical camps. Some hear the word “Laurel” in the viral audio clip (I’m one of them), others “Yanni” or “Yerry”. nine0025 Now those who heard “Laurel” will hear “Yanni”, and those who only heard “Yanni” will hear “Laurel”.

The origin of this audio clip is not exactly known and no one knows if it was done on purpose or by accident.

The original sound file in which the announcer says “Loreil” was taken from vocabulary.com, but this file was very much compressed into MP3 and either an overtone pronouncing “Yanny” was accidentally added, or someone added it.

The bottom line is that Yanny sounds at a higher frequency, and Loreil at a lower one, and all people hear differently even on the same reproducing equipment, but if you filter out low frequencies, everyone will hear Yanny, and if high, everyone hears Loreil. nine0012

The New York Times made an online tool to separate Yanny and Loreil. 🙂

Follow the link and press Play without touching the engine.

You will hear one of the two words, and your loved ones will most likely hear the other.

By moving the slider left and right, you can catch the moment when one word turns into another and you can even hear them at the same time.

Caution and Thoughtfulness: How Laurel Bowden Became a Powerful Female Investor

Laurel Bowden has a reputation as one of the most respected professionals in Europe. She ranks fourth in the annual ranking of the most successful investors according to Forbes magazine. Here’s How Bowden Achieved These Results Through Careful And Thoughtful Investments

Venture investor Laurel Bowden works her way: no staff, no career ladders within the company, no team building or strategy discussions with junior partners who are greedy for momentary trends. “I just want to make profitable investments by investing in the best business projects. I don’t want to be the manager of a big firm, says the star investor in an interview with Forbes. – One excludes the other. And I don’t want to build a corporation.”

In an ongoing boom in venture capital investment, when investment funds have begun to pay huge amounts of money to teams of hired specialists in the pursuit of the best startups and the best talent, this approach is rare. True to its own course, the 83North venture capital fund, led by Laurel Bowden, is still on top. Last year, Bowden did not make the list of the best (for the first time since its appearance in 2017), but in 2022 she triumphantly returned, taking immediately fourth place in the annual ranking of the most successful investors according to Forbes magazine – in the Midas List. nine0012

83North Laurel Bowden is one of the most coveted business sponsors in Europe. The company earned its reputation after being still a little-known, at an early stage investing in Celonis (a software developer from Germany, whose capitalization in August 2022, contrary to market trends, grew to $13 billion), Mirakl (a French software developer that in September 2021 was estimated at $3.5 billion). Another investment is Finnish food delivery startup Wolt, which closed a sale in June 2022 for about $8 billion.

“Bowden is a woman in an industry dominated by men who think they are the 8th wonder of the world,” says Mirakl CEO Adrien Nussenbaum, who has worked with Bowden since 2015. Laurel is modest, but comes across as an extremely intelligent person. She doesn’t put on a show, she just does what she loves.”

Since its founding in 2006, 83North has been guided by a clear, conservative philosophy. The company remains the same team of four partners. He rarely makes public statements, although in recent years he has warned other market participants about the inflated capitalization of many startups. nine0012

“I think they are the best investors in Europe,” said Philip Chopin, a former 83North employee. – Only a few in Europe can boast such a track record as Laurel’s. She has a unique knack for distinguishing a truly talented entrepreneur from a good one.”

Bowden was born and raised in South Africa. Having studied as an electrical engineer at the University of Cape Town, the most prestigious university in the country, she went to Europe for career prospects. “With my engineering background, I sent resumes to about 50 companies and they either rejected me or didn’t respond at all,” Laurel recalls. “And I thought that you need to get a specialty that will be interesting to everyone. ” nine0012

After graduating from INSEAD business school, young Bowden took a job at GE Capital, General Electric’s investment arm, where she first encountered venture capital. In 2000, Bowden moved to Jerusalem Venture Partners and for three years helped portfolio companies ride out the collapse of the dot-coms (an economic bubble that existed from approximately 1995 to 2001 – Forbes Woman ), and then began to invest herself. According to Bowden, this period of paralysis in the market, paradoxically, restarted her career. “I was very lucky that I did not come at 1999th, because then I would foolishly invest where I don’t need to, says Bowden, drawing a parallel with modern favorable conditions for venture capital funds. “Timing the right time is an important success factor.” In 2008, Bowden joined the Israeli division of Greylock. In 2015, after separating from Greylock, her company 83North appeared. “There was no negativity, it seems that in Greylock everyone didn’t give a damn about us. We were a small team that worked in Israel and Europe, and the abandonment of the brand did not look like something significant. Subsequently, it turned out that this was the best decision, because my partners and I were able to start building our own company.” nine0012

Once free-floating, the partners built 83North around a number of key principles: the firm should remain small, investment deals should be few (five or six per year), and the few entrepreneurs who are given money should be kept in close contact. “Don’t over-tell entrepreneurs what to do,” says Alex Rinke, CEO of Celonis. “But Laurel always gives good advice, and it doesn’t take away our entrepreneurial freedom.” “But she may recommend replacing an employee,” admits Mirakl CEO Adrien Nussenbaum. “But you can really trust her.” nine0012

While many companies build market positions by recruiting investors and support staff, Bowden prefers to spend time and energy building friendships with entrepreneurs. Four 83North partners can hire a maximum of one or two assistants. By avoiding hiring, partners take on some of the routine work themselves.

In a year when the most popular startups had to revise their value sharply downwards, 83North portfolio companies raised funds at an increased level of capitalization, which is why Bowden entered the European Midas List. “It’s good for us that we don’t make many deals at once, because we invest slowly,” she says. For example, an investor opposed the sale of Mirakl for billions of dollars. “If we had taken the last offer, Bowden would have made multiple profits,” says the firm’s CEO. – This suggests that she is really a strategist and plays long. A young partner or fund could push me to sell, simply because it would be beneficial at this stage of my career.” nine0012

“We don’t have nine or 10 partners, we don’t have the management staff to make new deals,” says Bowden.
