Transitional Kindergarten (TK) After School Program

In partnership with the Laguna Beach Unified School District, we are now offering after-school care for TKs with transportation to and from El Morro Elementary and Top of the World Elementary. Our TK program provides a great opportunity to continue enhancing your child’s social-emotional development and school readiness skills.

Our TK team all have education backgrounds in Early Childhood Education/Child Development and provide fun, engaging activities. Our TKs enjoy their own dedicated, safe space with a low staff-to-student ratio.

The hours go from School Dismissal to 6 PM.

Our TK program is open to all children who turn 5 after September 1st, 2023.

Our Approach

As a Christian preschool, our faith and values are interwoven into our everyday curriculum and chapel experiences. We teach our children to love one another, our community and our earth by treating all things with kindness and respect. With the knowledge that each child is unique, we provide a developmental, child-centered environment that fits all learning styles, strengths and gifts. Our curriculum embraces a variety of concepts, materials and experiences that will help children develop their social-emotional, physical and cognitive skills. By learning through play, children learn how to use their imaginations, think creatively, problem-solve, form friendships and establish a love for learning.

School Readiness

Our diverse and developmentally appropriate program offers the following activities to form a strong basis for school readiness:

Chapel is a special time when children hear Bible stories and learn worship songs and how to feel comfortable with prayer.

Social-emotional development and curriculum teaches children how to self-regulate and make connections with others. It helps build problem-solving skills, resiliency, flexibility, promotes positive relationships with others and teaches kindness and empathy. Strong social-emotional skills are a predictor for success both academically and in life.

Language is encouraged and enriched, both expressively and receptively, through the use of dramatic play, blocks, creative art, literature, problem solving and social interactions.

Fine motor skills are necessary for writing and self-care activities. These skills are strengthened with activities such as cutting with scissors, playdough, finger plays, stringing beads, and art.

Gross motor skills are necessary for locomotion and daily tasks. These skills are enhanced with tricycle riding, balance bikes, running, jumping, climbing and sliding on our playground and grass areas.

Perceptual and conceptual development is promoted with the introduction of science, solving puzzles, and literature experiences.

Each teacher also utilizes songs, chants and creative movement that develop listening skills, recall skills, rhythm patterns and phonemic awareness, which are key components to early literacy. Children will attend an outdoor music class weekly with Ms. Dunne.

Promoting Early Learning In Our Community

We partner with other agencies to maximize your child’s experience. These partnerships include Orange County Department of Education, Laguna Beach Unified School District, Laguna Beach Early Learning Community Task Force, and Start Well.

At LPP your child’s development is our goal. In addition to our own professional strategies, we offer a variety of optional tools (additional fees apply) if parents want more information about their child’s development.

School Readiness and Developmental Testing – In addition to developmental testing through our partnership with LBUSD, Chancy and Bruce, a renowned company in the preschool arena, comes to our school and conducts testing on students whose parents want this service. The results, shared in a follow up parent meeting, provide a snapshot of where your child is developmentally. This information can help with kindergarten planning, and the test is required by many private schools for admittance.

Laguna Phuket reviews

Laguna Phuket is located in the center of Bang Tao.
This is a complex of expensive hotels and residences with apartments and villas.
Phuket Lagoon is bordered on one side by Boat Avenue ( Boat Avenue ), on the other with the Layan Beach area ( Layan beach ).

The beach side of Laguna Phuket overlooks Bang Tao Beach – as I said, in the center of Bang Tao.

What I like Laguna Phuket

Very green and peaceful.
The Laguna complex is located on the site of an old tin mine in Phuket (tin ended in the middle of the 20th century).

After the cessation of ore mining, the quarries flooded groundwater and a system of essentially man-made lakes was formed here.

Part of the territory was drained, part of the lakes were connected by canals and water shuttles were launched along them – yes, you can also move along the Laguna by water.

It’s quiet here.
There are no discos, bars, markets and all that I can not stand in Thailand.
It is clear that I like Laguna Phuket.

Especially since the beach is within easy reach: you can walk, you can ride a bike, you can take a shuttle.
We move around in a rented car (how to rent a car in Phuket).

It’s respectable here.
This does not mean that dressed up ladies walk the streets, wearing all the jewelry they have in order to show their husband’s wealth.

Maybe they exist at hotels, but we live in a villa and in the village where our villa is, it’s rather empty: I only occasionally see people.

Housing in Laguna Phuket

Quite by chance we rented a villa in the village of Laguna Park.
Before that, they drove past, to Layan Beach, and did not pay attention to the fact that it was inside the territory adjacent to the road.
And it turns out that a whole village with villas and townhouses has been built here.

We found and booked the villa by accident because we didn’t like the apartment I booked on Boat Avenue for the week before Christmas.

We arrived, looked at Papa Carlo’s closet and left.
Of course, they lost money, but money does not matter compared to comfort and mood.

The new Laguna Park Villas, a three-level villa with a rooftop pool, cost us a little more than the two-bedroom Casuarina Shores Apartment, where we lived before this first week of our New Year’s holiday.

The villa has its own parking lot, its own territory and a hell of a lot of bedrooms that we don’t need – 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, respectively.
But there was no smaller villa.

Villas are often rented out by private owners, so the names of objects can be different, and all this will be located in one place.

History of the resort

A few decades ago, there were tin mines on a large plot of land in the area of ​​Bang Tao Beach, where Phuket Lagoon is now located. Later, the metal reserves were exhausted, and the mines flooded the groundwater, which subsequently led to the formation of a whole system of lakes.

In 1980, this land was purchased by a group of Singaporean investors who, a couple of years later, merged into Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited. The site was partially drained, the rest of the reservoirs were connected by canals – from that moment the development of the Laguna as a tourist destination began.

Help. Laguna Resorts was listed on the Thai Stock Exchange in 1993. It has received numerous environmental and tourism awards.

I have been living in Thailand for 12 years. Before that, in 2001-2003, she came here to work as a guide. Then there was no residential real estate on the territory of the resort, but hotels were already operating, and some of the most expensive and prestigious on the entire island.

The resort covers an area of ​​4 thousand square meters. m on the northwest coast of Phuket. You can get to it from the island’s international airport in half an hour.

The Laguna is bordered by Boat Avenue shopping streets on one side and Layan Beach on the other. By the way, it is the territory of the national reserve with the most beautiful secluded beaches with coniferous trees.

Laguna Coastline – Bang Tao’s 13 km long beach, the best in Phuket. The fourth, back side rests on a green zone that has not yet been developed.

The Laguna is not divided into well-defined areas.

Laguna is by far the most prestigious resort in Phuket, I would even say – in all of Thailand! Of course, each region of the country has its own elite area by local standards. But, as a rule, it is just a complex of expensive villas or luxury apartments.
For example, in Pattaya there is an area with skyscrapers on the seashore – excellent houses, spacious apartments. And in Hua Hin you can find prestigious small villages. But these are only houses, settlements…
The lagoon is a complex, a single resort area, a full-fledged town with a well-thought-out, integral infrastructure. One that allows you not to leave the resort at all. And this is the fundamental difference between Laguna and other analogues.

Free boats and boats run throughout the territory. They can be used to get from one hotel to another, from one location to another.

There are also free buses around the resort. This is convenient for people who do not drive a car. In any other place, renting a villa or apartments remote from the sea or the center, you need to rent a car. In Laguna, this is not necessary: ​​shuttles and boats plying everywhere allow you to be mobile.

Real estate prices and holidays in Laguna

The Thais themselves do not live in the resort – only the staff in the hotels. Mostly foreigners buy real estate here, in particular, many Russian-speaking investors and Europeans.

Real estate prices depend on the proximity to the sea and the stage of construction. If we are talking about apartment complexes, then often the objects in the first building are cheaper than in each subsequent one.

The minimum price for a studio is $100,000, a one-bedroom apartment is $110,000, and a two-bedroom apartment is $210,000. m will cost from $150,000. Prices for villas will start from $500,000. There are also more elite buildings – their cost reaches $3–5 million.
Villas of the middle segment – up to half a million dollars – are often bought for personal use. For investment purposes, they consider apartments or hotel rooms: this is more profitable.
If you still need a villa for investment purposes, then it is more efficient to take a luxury one – these are located at a five-star hotel, on its territory. In this case, the buyer gets the opportunity to relax in his home for a month during the year. The rest of the time the object rents out the hotel under its own brand and pays the owner a guaranteed income.

Holidays in Laguna can be of two types: either hotel accommodation or renting apartments or villas. Renting rooms in hotels, in particular in five-star ones, is more expensive than renting a house. Especially when it comes to long term rentals.

There are many apartments and houses in Laguna. Often the owners rent them directly, and not through the managing organization. Many do not include cleaning and other services in the price, and they also make discounts for long-term rentals – the longer the period, the cheaper the cost of the day.

Villa of about 1000 sq. m on New Year’s Eve can be rented for $20,000 per month, during the high season – for $10,000, and in the summer – “only” for $7,000. Small townhouses, 200 square meters, are half the price. But during peak season, everything is expensive.
But Laguna, due to its popularity, level of service and prestige, is a fairly liquid place. Guaranteed income for various projects – 5-6% per annum, actual – about 3-5%. This happens because Laguna, as a managing organization, takes a significant share of the profit for itself – for the maintenance of the facility. Those owners who rent out on their own (if allowed by the rules of the complex) can count on higher returns.
However, if a person wants to make money on the growth in the value of an object, we immediately warn you: the strategy is speculative and risky. And this very risk lies in the fact that the sale price may be lower than the owner intended.
If the complex has two buildings of seven floors each, then there will be about a hundred apartments in it. Then it makes sense to enter the project at the initial stage of construction. And if the complex consists of five seven-story buildings? There will already be about 500 apartments, and some of them will also go on sale after construction is completed. The competition will be higher, and the owners will be forced to move the price.
It is possible to act according to such a scheme only if we understand that the complex is unique, something seriously differs from others – in its idea, layout … But there are few such objects – about five projects are launched a year.

Conditions for buying real estate in Laguna

For foreigners, the conditions for buying real estate in Laguna do not differ from other regions and complexes. The difference is in installments: its conditions are more loyal here.

So, if other developers in Thailand give installments only for the period of construction, in rare cases – for another year after completion of work, then in Laguna you can count on an increase in the period of up to five years.

The scheme is as follows: the buyer pays 50% of the amount of the property during the entire construction period, and the remaining 50% – within a few years after (from one to five years). However, the balance of the debt is paid at an interest rate. The shorter the term, the lower the rate.

Thus, it often turns out that it is more realistic to buy property in Laguna than in other places, due to the extended payment period.

And another advantage of buying here is that the leasehold is extended an infinite number of times.
