The lake is shallow, in the deepest places – just above the knees. The water is yellow-brown in color with a characteristic odor. Warm in summer, like fresh milk. Everyone is surprised that it is impossible to drown in it. The water throws you up like a cork. Interesting sensations, you can just sit or lie on the water without any effort.

Spread the mud and wait about half an hour. Many collect it with them in packages and banks, they take it home.
What to bring to the lake
Please note that the dirt is very difficult to wash and launder. Therefore, we put on old unnecessary swimsuits and swimming trunks. Salt leaves white marks and streaks everywhere. In general, you do not need to dress up.
Rubber slippers. It is not comfortable to walk barefoot everywhere, dry prickly grass and small stones hurt your feet.

How much can you bring. It is convenient if there are large flasks. If not, you can collect five-liter plastic bottles.
A lot of salt constantly makes me want to drink. Wash hands and face with fresh water after each bath.

According to official papers, Salt has been a monument of regional significance since 2011. For Okunev people, local residents, this is a brand from time immemorial. During the war, the lake helped to survive: the villagers evaporated salt for sale and for the front. And in peacetime, it improves health thanks to the healing water, mud and air. How vigorously it smells of hydrogen sulfide!
The pond itself is not deep, even in the middle it will hardly reach two meters. The water is so salty that there are no fish, reeds do not grow, but there is an abundance of pink brine shrimp. By the way, the properties of water were recently confirmed by employees of the Yekaterinburg Medical Research Center for Prevention and Health Protection of Industrial Workers.
Mud (this is processed organic matter of the same brine shrimp) and blue clay are considered especially valuable. They are saturated with salt and help with joint diseases, psoriasis, skin and gynecological diseases. In a word, a real balneological resort in the wilderness, arranged by Mother Nature. The most interesting thing is that 70 meters from Salty there is a fresh lake in which bathers can rinse before going home.
And now for the costs. Most obvious: they are minimal. You will only have to shell out for the road, and holidays on the Salt are free, because the lake, although it is protected by the state, is open to absolutely everyone. There are no fences and guards. Someone comes by bus, rents a house in Okunevo, goes to the procedures on foot. But most tourists prefer to get here by car and camp right on the beach.
The head of the Okunevskaya village administration, Sergei Kurkov, says that on the hottest days before the pandemic, up to 700 vacationers came to the banks of the Salt.
