ChildHope offers a brighter future
Housing Hope is committed to ensuring that homeless children receive the support they need. We provide a safe, nurturing and accessible environment for children – at home, in a community, through a range of services, with two child and family specialists and a child psychologist, and by providing the highest quality child development services. .
Four components make up the ChildHope program, which gives participants the best chance of success.

Home Child and Family Specialist
Child and Family Workers serve family homes throughout Snohomish County and children at Tomorrow’s Hope Child Development Center. The specialist provides assessment, intervention, parent education and referral to specialized agencies, as well as assistance to parents in communicating with the school. The Specialist also acts as a Community Engagement Coordinator with school districts, community partners, and agencies.

College of Hope Parent Education
The College of Hope agency program offers a series of evening courses at the Family Life Education Academy. These courses are offered at five locations: Everett, Lynnwood, Monroe, Stanwood, and Smoky Point. Transportation for homeless families is provided to the Everett area. Each evening begins with a meal designed to simulate an economical and nutritious meal and family dinner.

Child Development Center “Hope of Tomorrow”
Tomorrow’s Hope operates a 112-bed licensed center serving children from 4 weeks to 12 years of age. The center provides transportation; nutrition program with breakfast, lunch and two snacks per day; a weekly medical office and a Head Start class for 4 year olds. The program employs staff and teachers with different levels of education, including several people with advanced degrees.

Homeless teenagers and young parents in New Century Village
Provides 23 subsidized independent residential apartments for homeless young mothers aged 16 to 24 and their children. Two full-time account managers specialize in providing a comprehensive resident support program. The college hosts a specially designed series of parenting and life skills classes. Volunteers provide child care so that all parents on this site can participate in life skills training sessions.
Tomorrow’s Hope Child Development Center opened in 1992 to provide parents access to daycare while they could focus on gaining housing and pursuing employment or education.
Serving children families from four weeks to 12 years old, the Center provides high-quality child development services to children and their parents and is the only licensed child development facility in Snohomish County specifically designed to meet the needs of experiencing or have experienced homelessness or poverty.

Comprehensive services mean children learn valuable skills and parents get the support they need to be role models. By learning from each other, families grow and prosper together.

ECEAP and HeadStart | The Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is Washington State’s early childhood education program for children ages three and four. To improve school readiness, the program includes free early childhood care to support development and learning, family support and parent engagement activities, and child health and nutrition coordination. Head Start is a federal partner of ECEAP.

Development support | A part-time full-time school psychologist assesses children’s development, takes steps to prepare for kindergarten, and helps teachers use best practice strategies. A trained child and family specialist assists in the design of classroom interventions, is available for immediate individual intervention, provides parent counseling and community referrals, and acts as a community engagement coordinator. In addition, the ChildStrive parent educator provides on-site support for teachers to share their challenges and successes. It can also help connect families to more targeted support areas.
