The beautiful Glacier Ridge Metro Park makes it easy to get outside and get active. This park is only 10-15 minutes northwest of Dublin and well worth the short drive. Here you will find everything – from waterfalls to forests and steppe landscapes. The park covers about 1,037 acres and was once farmland. It’s also fun to climb the 25-foot observation tower for a bird’s-eye view of the park and maybe see some native animals in their habitats. The Ironweed, Red Oak, Swamp Shroud, and Savannah trails are easy trails that introduce you to different parts of the park. These trails are popular for cycling, horse riding, dog walking and cross country skiing. There is also a free 18-hole golf course and a picnic area. Glacier Ridge Park is usually open from 6:30 am until dark.

An interesting roadside attraction not to be missed when visiting Dublin is the Leatherlips Monument. This is a sculpture made of limestone slabs, which depicts the leader of the Wyandot. The reason the chief was nicknamed “Leatherlips” was because he was known to never break a promise. Leatherlips advocated coexistence with European settlers, but his tribe lost most of their land with the signing of the treaty. Ultimately, Leatherlips was executed due to his unpopular stance on how to coexist peacefully. The sculpture is about 12 feet tall and overlooks Scioto Park.
