Ms Hiwet was wonderful! It has been a couple years since but I never once worried about my boys in her care. She always took care of them as if they were here own. She provided meals and snacks that were far healthier than the mainstream daycares. She helped with developing motor skills and encouraged positive social interaction. Also the children were always kept clean. I still believe she is one of the best child care providers I could ever find. Indeed it felt just like home.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a great place for a family vacation. “Together with you, we share new discoveries with the world, preserve scientific treasures that arouse curiosity, and open eyes and minds to the wonders of nature and science,” the mission of the institution is described on the website. In the museum halls, you will find skeletons of huge dinosaurs and ice age animals, thousands of years old Egyptian mummies, an impressive collection of minerals and gems, and one of the largest gold nuggets found in Colorado. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has created stunningly detailed dioramas that introduce the animal world of our planet, as well as an excellent collection dedicated to the culture of North American Indians. nine0003

Young visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to go on a space odyssey, watch the work of genetic scientists, and have fun in the Discovery Zone. The whole family can go to the planetarium to unravel the mysteries of space, or visit the Phipps IMAX® Theater with a giant screen. For those who are tired and hungry, T-Rex Cafe serves pizza, sandwiches, salads and snacks.

The Colorado State Capitol is one of Denver’s landmarks. It houses the residences of the governor and lieutenant governor, as well as the Colorado General Assembly. The majestic building with a dome covered with gold leaf stands on Capitol Hill, just above the central part of the city. It is built from gray granite quarried from the Aberdeen quarry, and Colorado pink onyx is used for interior decoration. The floors of the Capitol are tiled in white marble, and the stained-glass windows depict people and events associated with Colorado’s history. Be sure to climb up to the Colorado State Capitol Observation Deck for superb views of downtown and the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains. nine0003

Engraved on the 15th step of the stairs leading to the western entrance to the Capitol is the inscription: One Mile Above Sea Level. Thanks to this mark, which was made by students of the University of Denver in 1909, Denver received its second name – The Mile High City (City a mile high). From this step you can see the sun setting behind the Rocky Mountains. In 2003, more accurate measurements were taken. As a result, it turned out that the 13th step has a height of 1 mile, where a new marker was installed. nine0003

Clyfford Still Museum

In his will, abstract artist Clyfford Still indicated that he would donate nearly all of his art to the American city, which would agree to create a museum dedicated exclusively to him. art. Twenty cities applied for the collection, but Still’s wife, Patricia, chose Denver. The Clyfford Still Museum opened on January 18, 2011. The museum collection includes 3,125 works by the famous artist and his archive. nine0003

At the Clifford Still Museum you will learn about the unique artistic vision of the brilliant abstract artist. With the help of lines, shapes and colors, he expressed ideas and feelings. Clifford Still did not give names to his works – he wanted each person to interpret them in their own way. In addition to the exhibition halls, the museum building has an art studio where everyone can reveal their talent.

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is one of the best air and space museums in the world. It is located 9 km east of downtown Denver – on the former Lowry Air Force Base, where the Air Force Academy was located before moving to Colorado Springs. The aviation hangar exhibits several dozen aircraft and spacecraft. The collection of the Air and Space Museum includes such rarities as the B-18A Bolo bomber, the RF-84K Thunderflash Parasite reconnaissance fighter, the B-1A Lancer supersonic bomber, and the General Dynamics FB-111 strike aircraft. They were accompanied by the legendary X-Wing from Star Wars. In addition to exhibits, the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum features realistic flight simulators that let you fly Cessna 172s, 182s, and more. nine0003

Cheesman Park

Located near the Denver Botanical Gardens, Cheesman Park is one of Colorado’s most visited parks. On its green lawns, framed by trees, the townspeople love to have picnics. The park has many hiking trails and running tracks, and the Cheesman Memorial Pavilion, formerly known as the Denver Temple of the Sun, is located on the east side of the park. From here you have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains. There is a large playground on the west side of the park. nine0003

In the 19th century, what is now Cheesman Park was a cemetery. During the arrangement of the territory, it was moved. But they say that the spirits of the dead still roam the shady alleys. Thanks to its dark history, Cheeseman Park has become a popular location for ghost tours. Walking here in the dark and listening to scary legends is one of the best things to do in Denver.

Molly Brown House Museum

The Molly Brown House Museum is dedicated to socialite Margaret Brown, known as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”. She became famous after she survived the sinking of the Titanic. When the steamer hit an iceberg, Margaret helped distribute the passengers to the lifeboats. She herself refused to get into the boat, arguing that if the ship was flooded she would be able to swim out. In the end, she was forcibly put into boat number 6. Until the last, she argued with the sailor Robert Hitchens, demanding to return to the crash site to pick up the survivors. But, despite the fact that there were only 26 of them in the boat for 65 passengers, she was refused. nine0003

The Molly Brown House Museum is a beautiful mansion on Capitol Hill, once owned by Margaret and her husband Jim Brown. But after the tragedy, she was rarely at home, preferring to travel with her son Lawrence. Museum exhibits tell about the life of this unique woman – a socialite, philanthropist and feminist who knew five languages and was able to sit on the oars of a lifeboat for seven hours.
