Ginny and Georgia (Netflix) – Season 1: Ending, explanation and meaning Are you dizzy from the many storylines that have reached a climax and left you in limbo? Well, you are not alone!
Let’s talk in detail about what happened. We’ve got a bunch of stuff going on, from Ginny and Austin leaving for an unknown destination, to Georgia, who is about to become First Lady of Wellsbury but is also a murder suspect.
Overall, Ginny & Georgia received mixed reviews. The show has been praised for dealing with topics such as teenage adulthood and racial issues. In doing so, there are criticisms about several storylines that are often confused and confuse viewers.
One thing’s for sure: everyone is raving about the teen roles, from Antonia Henry as Ginny to Sarah Weisglass (Max) to Mason Temple as Hunter.
So let’s see how it all ended and what we can see in the second season.
Where did Ginny and Austin go?
You could expect any season 1 finale except the one where Ginny and Austin ride off into the night on a motorcycle.
By the way, have not forgotten yet. There are not so many resources on the Web that conduct intelligent analytics on films and TV shows. Among them is the telegram channel @SciFiNews, whose authors write the most suitable analytical materials – analyzes and theories of fans, interpretations of post-credits scenes, as well as the secrets of bomb franchises, like movies MARVEL and “ Game of Thrones “. Subscribe so you don’t have to search later – @SciFiNews. But back to our topic…
It makes sense that Ginny would want to end her relationship with her mother after learning that Georgia had killed at least one person (you can, of course, justify her, but that’s a completely different conversation).
But where did the 16-year-old girl and her 9-year-old brother go? Austin is still a minor, and Georgia is his only parent. So is this a kidnapping?
We can assume that they will try to stay with Zion. Ginny idolized her father, and Zion was quite close to Austin, but Georgia is the guardian of both children, so Ginny must understand that if she goes to Zion, Georgia will think about it first.
Also, Ginny, in her voice-over monologue, talks about escaping, just like Georgia did. But going to your father is hardly an escape.
Will Ginny be forgiven?
It’s clear that Ginny and Georgia are at the heart of the show, but the dynamics of MANG are no less interesting.
It was very sad to see MANG fall apart after Max found out that Ginny was close to Marcus. It seems that not only Ginny has moved away from the group now, but also Abby. And Abby is very worried about this.
The season ends with Max and Nora drifting apart from Abby and Ginny, though the four need each other more than ever in light of Sophie-Max’s breakup and Abby’s parents’ divorce. In general, MANG is a valuable phenomenon, which you really don’t want to part with.
Will Georgia be charged with murder?
We know that Georgia killed at least two people: her first husband, whom she had to marry in order to regain custody of Ginny, and Kenny, her second husband, who took an unhealthy interest in Ginny.
The first season ends with Georgia becoming the future First Lady of Ullesbury, and PI Cordova informs Ginny that he knows Georgia killed Kenny, not to mention the exhumation of Kenny’s body.
But it looks like Cordova can’t prove it. First, Ginny and Austin burned a plant that could serve as evidence. Second, Georgia somehow manages to fit what’s left of Kenny into the fireworks display for Paul’s re-election as mayor. At least that’s what she tells Cordova. So there is no evidence in this case either.
What’s going on with Austin’s father?
This is a blank for the second season. When Austin finds out that he has been writing letters to his mom all the time, thinking he is writing to his father in Azkaban, Ginny sends all the letters to Austin’s real father.
Maybe the one in jail is serving time for crimes that Georgia committed. When Ginny informs Georgia that she has been sending letters to Austin, dramatic music plays and Georgia asks, horrified, “Did you give us our return address?”
What can be inferred from this? Austin’s father is close to being released from prison and will return for his son in Season 2. She will also want to punish Georgia for having to pay for her crime.
What will happen to Cynthia, Ellen, Marcus, Hunter and Joe?
As mentioned, there’s a lot going on in the season finale. We learn that Cynthia is caring for her disabled husband.
