Japanese-Speaking Child Care

Most recent reviews for local Japanese-speaking child care

Yumi O.

I had a very good experience having Yumi take care of my 16 month old daughter. She was on time, which is very important. She instantly connected with my daughter, and stiuck to the preferences (such as no watching TV, etc) that I had told her prior to starting the first day with my daughter. Mydaughter was in a great mood after spending time with Yumi. You can tell that she is very experienced- i.e., she is firm but caring. She is a native speaker of Japanese, which is a plus for me given that I am trying to raise my daughter English/Japanese bilingual. I have no hesitation in hiring her again in the near future….

Chie T.

I have known her for over 7 years now as a trusted friend, and Chie is absolutely great person. She has raised 3 children and experienced working at a child care facility and after school care program. She is well trained, knowledgeable and attentive. The last but not least, she loves children!! Ihighly recommend her for caring your children….

Nodoka M.

She was great with the kids. She was even able to get both kids in bed on time, which is a task! Would definitely recommend.

Michiyo T.

Michi is a great sitter! She is so attentive and patient with my toddler! She plays with her and does not just plop her in front of the TV, she is actually very engaged with my little one! Looking forward to keeping her as a regular sitter for our family, she is truly such a great person and sitter, full over energy!…

I enjoy creating wonderful memories with the children and families I am lucky to care for. Making sure a child is paid attention to and feels fully cared for and loved is very important to me. I really value understanding child psychology, early childhood education, and childhood development andspend my free time studying these areas of knowledge. In my undergraduate studies, I spent time studying anthropology and social work because understanding people is something I’m deeply passionate about, particularly youth. I’ve been working as a childcare provider for over 10 years, for many families, and have committed to families for years at a time. I tend to work under a “no screens” policy because I find that my time on the clock is best spent nurturing your child with my full attention. Typically I like to share my passion for the outdoors and nature with children, playing games and activating their imaginations. I am fluent in three languages and am happy to share this when working.

Japanese Kindergarten – Volume Two 🙂

What are my emotions about kindergarten?
Maya went to the Japanese education system like Katya – at 1.3 years old, today is the third day of the garden, my wings are slowly growing. The ability to concentrate, listen to your thoughts, not only start, but also finish some business, what could be more beautiful! At this age, my girls also have a growing need for communication with other people, they are drawn to children wherever they can be spotted, and every day I see how new options open up in their heads. Every day my baby gropes for new paths in communication, learns to communicate, and with each of us in different ways. From this point of view, I perceive the kindergarten as a source of new opportunities not only for the mother, but also for the child – such a scale and rhythm of new interactions cannot be compared with a family where roles have already been defined and it has long been clear who is worth what))

We were waiting for him, just like then – 2 months, very lucky. Maternity leave is usually a year, and every year there are fewer women in Japan who want or are willing to leave work forever for the sake of the household. Therefore, the demand for kindergartens for children from 1 to 2 years old has grown a lot, at the same time, the groups are small, it is not easy to get into them. This year I learned that each family now gets a certain score, depending on the number of hours of work, taxes and older children in preschool, the higher the score, the closer you are to the coveted locker. Older children generally provide a “corridor” for younger children to get into the same kindergarten – even with a severe shortage, places always appear for them by some miracle, and the third child in general seems to go to kindergarten for free. In large cities, the queue does not save, the way to kindergarten goes through a lottery, which is immediately played out between parents with equal chances. This is where you will believe in karma, Fortune and everything in the world at once!

Together with the refusal from the city administration, you receive a paper with a complete table of data on how many children with what score were accepted by all city kindergartens this month. But even with all the seemingly open information, the process seemed opaque to me. As the owner of a certain score, I could estimate, looking at the list of kindergartens, which one can be counted on next month – but at the same time I am told that all these numbers may change next month! At the same time, when choosing kindergartens, first in my area, and then outside it, I heard comments from the official hosting me that they say it’s unrealistic to get here, it’s easier here . … At the same time, she categorically refrained from recommending what I should choose the garden, to be sure. Divination session, casino, Guess the melody?…

The Japanese garden is a nice, safe and fun place, even though the windows and doors are wide open in early November. By the way, when I first paid attention to them, I realized that this is the normal, natural way of life of the Japanese – natural humidity, natural air temperature (it was +17 yesterday, today it is a couple of degrees less, and after a cold night, the window was closed)). Here Katya is already in the 2nd grade, but the school does not cause me any emotions at all, and we both miss her kindergarten so far. What systematization is inaccessible to me, the organization of the children’s routine, what good habits they instill in children, how they diligently do their funny crafts, learn songs …. Eh. And all this with such endless patience, curiosity for children, respect and approval that I almost envy, the suspicion creeps in that no one respected or approved of me as a child. Almost a year after graduating from kindergarten, I had tears welling up at the thought of him.

(photo from Google, the rest are our current kindergarten)

In general, hello, children’s world. And by the way, with a 2% increase in consumer tax, kindergartens from the age of 3 become free for most categories of residents and citizens of Japan. With this measure, the government tried to sweeten the pill, since the Japanese did not like the 10% tax on all purchases at all.

Japanese garden | six senses

Tea ceremonies

Japanese Garden Walks

Reveal the secret of the six senses

The name of the garden is very symbolic, and its meaning means that the guest of the garden can enjoy all the senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and … consciousness. According to Buddhist teachings, only in this way, absorbing the world with all the senses, can a person achieve enlightenment.

Vision

Take a look around. A riot of color and texture fills the Garden. Admire the play of light and shadow, sea and mountain views, amazing plants. Give pleasure to your look. Consider the stones framing the path to the Temple.

Concentrate on the different tones of the endless sea, shrouded in a haze of morning mist – it seems to merge with the sky. Explore the texture of the volcanic rock and all the hues of the colorful koi and turtles in the pond.

Rumor

Listen to the breath of the wind. He descends from the mountains, plays with the crowns of the trees of the Garden and whispers about something important. Hear the sound of waterfalls and the lapping of sea waves in the breeze.
Listen to yourself. Close your eyes, relax and feel what the Garden is talking to you about.

Taste

Enjoy a whole range of taste sensations during a traditional tea ceremony. The taste of tea is multifaceted and unique, takes us away from problems and worries.

The aromas of the Garden plants, the warm sun and the sea breeze excite and fill with themselves, also opening up new facets of taste sensations.

Touch

Touch the variety of textures of the Garden. Here you will find the roughness of the winding paths, the smooth water of the ponds, the smoothness of the volcanic stone, the uniqueness of the pattern of the tree from which the elements of the Garden are made.

Try to close your eyes and feel the gentle embrace of the Garden – the sun’s rays and the breath of the wind caress your skin, stone paths lead you to the most beautiful places.
The hot water of the Onsen fonts fills you with calmness and tranquility.

Smell

Breathe in slowly. Hear the smell of flowering plants, pine needles and wood. Many flowers, bushes and trees speak to you in a special way.

In different weather, time of day and season, the Garden is filled with aromas in a special way. Try closing your eyes and breathing deeply to feel the mood of the Garden.

Consciousness

Connect all your sensations, fill your whole consciousness with them. Harmony fills your mind and your body, leaving problems outside of your consciousness. You are here and now.

Feel serenity and peace.
Clear your mind with meditation or breathing practice.
The Garden has a soul and you can know it.
