Not good. My child was very unhappy there.

Our daughter attended this daycare for almost two years. After trying a daycare center, we sought a smaller more nurturing environment where she could continue to learn and develop. Gheorge and Gabriella treat the children like family, and provide specialized attention and structure. We always knew that our daughter was loved and cared for while we worked – that piece of mind is priceless. Our daughter was well prepared for pre-k and transitioned beautifully. We are so thankful for Gheorge and Gabriella! We still stop by whenever we can to spend time and say hello.

My son attended International daycare of Bethesda for over 2 years. Gheorge is an incredible teacher and treated each child with respect and love. Our son learned so much under their care, and most importantly felt loved and supported.

We truly love this daycare and are so happy with the care of George and Gabriella for our 20 month old son. For the poster who noted that they were concerned about the fact that a man noted he runs the daycare, it used to be run by George and his wife until she passed away and is now run by George and an employee he has. My son loves going to this daycare, and is so happy to see them. They are so loving towards him, yet also provide a very structured environment that is helping him thrive. Couldn’t be more thrilled to have found this gem!

We couldn’t be happier with International Daycare of Bethesda. It is clear that the director, Georghe Ilie and Gabriella love what they do and treat the children as their own. Our little guy looks forward to being there and often does not want to leave. The center is immaculately kept, very clean and orderly. The space is very bright and cheerful, and there is a great outdoor space for the kids to play. This is a gem very conveniently located inside the Beltway.

I called about a slot for my infant. I got a generic voicemail so I did not leave a voicemail. Minutes later, a man called back and asked if I “called this number”. I said yes and asked if he was the daycare director and he said yes. This was alarming since their website says Marina (a woman) is the director. I said nevermind and hung up. Very sketchy so I will not be contacting this “daycare” again.

My daughter spent her first 3-1/2 years of life in the Ilie’s care, and I can’t imagine having found a better experience for my daughter. I searched extensively for daycares throughout the region before finding this one, and was relieved to find one which gave me the confidence, comfort and peace of mind that my daughter was in good hands.

We loved the small group, family-like atmosphere, personal individualized care, all the learning activities and fun, and great facilities for play inside and out. My daughter learned so much here, both socially and academically, and she was completely prepared for pre-k and kindergarten. Gheorge and his assistants care for the children as if they are their own. Highly recommend!

International Day Care of Bethesda is a wonderful in-home day care that provides a very nuturing and loving environment from infants to school age children. They treat the children as if they were their own. They provide many different activities that create social interaction at a young age as well as a strong learning environment. They really helped to prepare my son for a smooth transition into Kindergarten.

We love Gheorghe Ilie’s day care! We found them after searching high and low for our first kid as nervous first time parents. They were the perfect place! It is a treasure tucked in the NIH-Rockville-Bethesda area. After we had our second child we drove 6.5 miles each day just so we could do the same place for our little boy! Both our kids loved/love it there! Activities are very carefully and meticulously done at the pace of the child. They are very structured and orderly with their schedule. It is an oasis of homely love and intuitive teaching for young minds.

In English lessons, children expand their vocabulary on the topic: sports, winter sports, sports equipment. And they play a game to reinforce the vocabulary “Winter Olympic Games Bingo”.

On music and rhythm, the kids are preparing the most interesting numbers for the New Year’s party! Want to show how it went?

In class with a speech therapist, we refine and systematize children’s knowledge about winter sports. Expanding vocabulary on the topic “Sports”.

And at creative classes we cut skates out of cardboard and decorate them. And also learn to draw with colored ice cubes, model a winter diorama and make a snowman-skier.

Theme of the week (December 16 – December 20): Time of day

Kids are waiting for a lot of interesting activities and exciting games!

In literature, kids will get acquainted with such works and fairy tales as:

– “The Four Princesses”
– “The Tale of the Cuckoo Clock”
– “About the Frog Kapu”
– “Goodnight, Moon”

Na English lessons will focus on the time of day. We will develop motor skills and sensory skills: “Day and Night”. Let’s depict the story of one day of the characters of the lesson – dogs and bears on a piece of paper. And we will do finger gymnastics “Hickory-Dickory”.

At the developing classes there will be work with cards, development of attention. Let’s introduce the guys to wall and wrist clocks.

At creative classes we will make a magic clock and learn how to work with a brush – draw the sun’s rays.

And while experimenting, the kids will learn the concept of “light” and get acquainted with its sources.

Theme of the week (December 2 – December 6): Winter and winter fun

Winter and winter fun is the theme of the week in the younger group.

What will our kids do?
⠀
Traditionally, acquaintance with many wonderful works will take place:

– “Frost”
– “Children’s fairy tale about winter”
– “Toptyzhka”
– “The Mittens”
⠀
At English lessons we learn the names of winter months and thematic the words. We remember winter clothes and train fine motor skills: we dress the boy for a winter walk (glue the missing elements to the base picture).

Dramatization of “Snowy pockey”, “Gloves and mittens”. The development of fine motor skills (learning to work with scissors, cut out a teddy bear).
⠀
In developing classes, we get acquainted with winter and changes in nature; we develop the perception of color and shape, attention, observation (we find pairs of mittens in the picture). We learn to develop graphic skills and practice counting by counting winter clothes. Let’s talk winter fun.

And by experimenting we find out what snow and ice turn into, when they melt and why they cannot be eaten. And we freeze magic icicles.

Theme of the Week (Nov 11 – Nov 15): Treasure Island

An extremely interesting topic for the senior inhabitants of our kindergarten is “Treasure Island”

So, at literature lessons, the guys got acquainted with the works:
⠀
– “Treasure Island”,
– “Doctor Aibolit. Penta and the Sea Pirates,
– “The Pirate’s Parrot”,
– “Robinson Crusoe”.
⠀
In English, the kids, together with Jason, replenished their vocabulary on the topic and learned a lot of pirate names. They also made a pirate map.
⠀
At sports classes, the kids did some elements of pirate-themed yoga and played “Catchy rounders”.
⠀
At creative classes, children sculpted medallions from salt dough and modeled a pirate hat!
⠀
And, finally, while experimenting, the kids got acquainted with the compass and learned to determine the cardinal directions.

Theme of the week (October 21 – October 25): Unusual buildings and houses

The topic of the week is: unusual buildings and houses.

At physical education lessons, we develop leg muscles: we jump over a rope. And we develop the muscles of the hands: we train with sports ribbons and throwing.
⠀
A young erudite in the classroom: a conversation on the topics “Unusual houses and buildings” and “Houses in different countries”. And the game is the arrangement of houses along the streets, even and odd houses.

At creative classes, we created a thematic collage “A magic house” and modeled a tipi. Also, the kids are waiting for modeling from plasticine.

And my favorite: experimentation! We study the concepts of “warmth” – “cold”. The temperature outside and inside the house. Learning how to model a simple thermometer to determine the approximate temperature.

“It’s good to be away, but it’s better to be at home” – the guys spent a week under this motto.

At the lessons of literature they got acquainted with the works:

– “There’s a Mouse in the House”
– “House”
– “The three bears”
– “Teremok”
⠀
On logic and thinking, children learned what is a “cube” and developed fine motor skills of hands.
⠀
In the outside world, they completed the logical task of arranging furniture in the house and merged with the task “Clean up”.

And while experimenting, we discussed what parts a house consists of and what materials a house can be built from!
