Meet Willena

Cancer, diabetes and 20 years since her last college course couldn’t stop this mother of seven from reaching her goal of a degree in early childhood development. The results were life-changing.

“I feel like I can take on the world, that nothing is impossible.”

Pyrokinesis – when inner demons become your songs

NEW FLOW is a partner special project of our website and re:Store. During the summer, he will talk about young musicians who are changing Russian music right now.

Andrey Pyrokinesis is a young musician from Krasnodar, now living in St. Petersburg. His albums are conceptual, and his concerts are reminiscent of theatrical performances. In a couple of years, without the support of labels and without a single video, he was able to earn an impressive audience of devoted listeners, who I want to call not a fan base, but rather a fandom – people united by their small universe. nine0003

PRO NIGHT LIFESTYLE

This is how my body works. It is more pleasant and comfortable for me to work at night, to do anything at all. I hate mornings, I don’t particularly like daylight. Under the cover of night, people hide their secrets. So no one will know about my rating in the dot-com, hehe.

ON WHAT ROS

I listened to Casta, from 12-13 years old until some point. Today’s Casta is very cool. I do not always understand what they are singing about, since the guys are already adults, they recorded an album about their larvae, for example, but in terms of sounding it is very good and fresh. I don’t know why they don’t buy much in this regard. Apparently, the dominance of the same type x *** you affects. nine0003

Then switched to Lana Del Rey and stuff like that. At that time, she probably inspired me the most among the musicians. Once upon a time, at the age of 15-17, I probably listened to a lot of battle rap – all sorts of early oxymorons, rappers from online battles and the like, but now rap is not particularly interesting to me. Now, for example, I really like Dakooka, I would like to sing feats with her, but I don’t even know how to propose. In general, I catastrophically rarely write feats, and I don’t know how to offer them at all. I prefer to work solo. I don’t listen to Russian rap either, but there are exceptions, like Bumble Beezy – he’s a very cool techie and a good lyricist. Loqiemean has a great album out. The last album of Scriptonite is brilliant. The best thing that came out in the last ten years in Russian rap in my personal opinion. LSP “Tragic City” turned out great. Boulevard Depo also released a good album recently. nine0003

I almost don’t listen to western hip-hop, mostly just pop or various rock. Except for iconic releases, like the latest album by Kanye West or Kendrick Lamar. I listened, rummaged through the texts, appreciated or horrified, and never returned. It’s like looking at a painting for me.

ABOUT THE BLOCKING OF THE LSP SONG “NUMBER”

Once a friend of mine listened to “Numbers” and died. If no jokes, then oh ****** track. In general, such songs help people. I know this firsthand, because I myself periodically receive words of gratitude from listeners after some of my depressing tracks. nine0003

It’s all done for statistics, they don’t care at all. Just taken out of context. There are some moneybags who don’t understand anything, and who don’t really want to understand anything, and they need to pretend to be active, as we did at the university in the last desks. But if they ban something, then this is an additional hype. Here’s how “Numbers” took off in iTunes after the lockdown. If someone gets into such a situation, he will only begin to joyfully rub his hands. We are all hype-hungry f**ks. nine0003

Creativity cannot be blocked or controlled in any way. Art belongs to the people.

WHY THE TERM “RAP ARTIST” WILL DISAPPEAR SOON

The boundaries of genres are being erased and such terms as “rapper” or “rocker” should have disappeared a long time ago. “Rappers” sing their songs on a straight barrel, and this is perceived as normal, while formal punks rap to guitar riffs and nothing, people are dragging along. Personally, I don’t consider myself a rapper. In fact, very few people call themselves that now. After all, in fact, I am not one of them – it must be a person with a certain background and style. I don’t have it, like 90 percent of people in this genre. Only Master SHEFF considers himself a rapper now, probably.

I have a personal dislike for the word “artist”. It doesn’t have anything like that, but it just annoys me. Since childhood, it has been postponed that the artist is such a dude with unfunny jokes from the Crooked Mirror. Here they say: “And now our people’s artist is entering the stage,” and you’re like: “B*****, f*****c.”

ABOUT EARNINGS FROM CONCERTS

I’ve been living only on the income from music for a year, since the first more or less serious concerts appeared. Musicians in Russia now earn not only a lot, but enough, contrary to popular belief. Singers around my modest level of popularity earn enough to live without too much trouble. Recently I went on the first tour with Sted.D to 20-25 cities. nine0003

We have really cool gigs, if not some of the best. In Moscow, they gathered a thousand people, we even dived into the slam from the stage into this frenzied crowd. We had tears, and flashlights, and even an ambulance. Basically vinishko-chan with a blazer. No. It was sarcasm, but without them, nowhere, I love wine-chan. In fact, different people walk – from teenage girls, schoolgirls and students to forty-year-old men. Here a young father came to Perm with two daughters of ten years old, cosplayed one of them as a knight – probably a reference to my song “No Time for Dragons”. nine0003

ABOUT OUR LISTENERS

I can’t say that we are a family. That would be a little hypocritical. Whoever speaks like that from the artists, that pi # dit by definition. For me, they are more like friends, comrades, like-minded people to some extent. That will be more accurate. Family is a rather loose, but delicate concept. I met strangers at concerts who feel my music so sensitively that you can’t help but consider him your dude.

PRO YOUNG FANS

The best audience is girls aged 16-17. The future belongs to the youth, for example.

Older fans, although no, younger ones too, constantly write anonymously with hints in AskFM, but not in VK. Sometimes at concerts they come up with a certain offer, but I rarely agree. And there is no strength left after the concert. Rumors about the life of rockstar are greatly exaggerated. . When you have four concerts in a row, you don’t feel like sniffing Omsk cocaine in the company of escorts at all. To be honest, I want to sleep much more. nine0003

WHY DID HE GET A PHYSICIST EDUCATION

I purposefully went to physics, a course in electronics and nanotechnologies. Not from a handout from parents or anything. I really wanted to study it, in my second year I even did some kind of scientific activity, until I hit music with my head and scored x **. I once had a battle track built around physics punches. I was young, so it came out dumb. Something like “your mother is like a material point.”

I remember another funny but stupid punch. There is such a thing as a “mathematical pendulum” – a mathematical model that does not take into account the influence of extraneous forces, such as friction, for example. And I built a punch on it “you go to the rocking chair and swing, boy, but you can’t rub it with heifers like a mathematical pendulum. ” nine0003

Besides that, I studied a lot. Art history, for example. About the role of Khovansky in world culture, about Eliza’s love for ripped jeans and Beethoven’s influence on the formation of Eljay’s musical aesthetic views. I know how hot dogs are made. Like children too. About the same.

A techie is a stupid stereotype, however, like a humanist Physics is what surrounds us, and what the world lives and breathes. I don’t understand how it can be uninteresting. Indeed, such a classification is rather dubious. Somehow limited. A complete person should not lock himself into boxes like “I am a physicist, I am a manager, I am a humanitarian, I am a rapper, I am Nikon”. The personality must be multifaceted. nine0003

WHY HIS ALBUMS ARE ALBUMS CONCEPTUAL

Usually I don’t answer anything in albums, or rather, I answer for myself. I would rather pose a question to people and leave space for reflection. But in the last album, nevertheless, he immediately posed the question and hid the answer, for attentive Dash-travellers. If the early albums were more of an emotional infusion, Feed the Demons on a Schedule is more of a thoughtful thing. The concept of the last album has changed eight times. The tracklist is obviously the same. It can be taken as a philosophical essay. At least that’s what I wanted to do. Whether it worked or not is not for me to decide. nine0003

Absolutely everything energizes me, but issues that are relevant to me often have an outlet in creativity, of course, I don’t sing about everything. I’m not a blogger after all. Hence the diversity of my music. Of course, in the comments sometimes there are individual characters who, not really listening even on the surface, crow about the same type. The Russian hater is the most senseless and merciless hater. Good old ultra-violence. What kind of uniformity can we talk about if my theme and style of songs varies from “soft grunge girl” to some kind of “8 beat”, from it to “Simulacrum” and after to something like “The saddest disco? nine0003

Each of my albums is a part, a separate world of one universe. It’s like a lot of small rooms in a big mansion. Each room is a separate small story that is part of one big legend.

WHAT THE NEW ALBUM WILL BE

Now I’m preparing a new album. I have such a stage in my work when everything inside is dead and destroyed and I need to put everything back together bit by bit. Find yourself, ask a question and do something oh ****** e. I have this after every album. You release something fundamental for yourself and after it it becomes difficult to look for something new. There is a reassessment of values. nine0003

Right now I have a chalkboard hanging over my head – there is a tracklist for the upcoming album and a bunch of red arrows, references, diagrams and other things in the spirit of a detective movie. I’m just thinking about how best to implement it. It looks like a problem in physics. It is clear that all this can change a hundred times, but there is always a general plan. Here you are walking through the forest, along a familiar route – you stumble, hit your head, turn around, and find a new path in the bushes. Art does not always have to answer something, sometimes it is more important to formulate and raise a question than to give an answer. nine0003

I often listen to my old albums. Sometimes you have to look back to take a step forward. Conduct a path analysis. I can compare it to the Dark Souls series of games – each part has its own storyline, but as you walk through the world of one game, you learn the story of another.

ABOUT THE REJECTION OF THE NEW SCHOOL

I can’t stand all this shit like Lil Pump, this blueprint like “little yachts” and “rich the kids”, however, like their Russian counterparts. E****ina some. There are catastrophically few characters in this current that can be distinguished at least by an interesting sound. nine0003

Pharaoh changed everything in his time, he launched a new wave. He is a revolutionary in national music. This is a unique character of its kind. One of the few people in the genre, who started with a rather formulaic rapper, but developed, did not sag under public opinion and at the same time did not lose his hype.

I’m fine with Face. This is the same stage of evolution as Thrill Pill. If not a revolutionary, then a very bright comet in the sky, important not so much musically as culturally. I don’t know anything about them as people, but I can’t listen to it. nine0003

WHY THRILL PILL IS A SYMBOL OF THE EPOCH

He’s *****. Will explain. I don’t listen to his music, it doesn’t work for me, but against the backdrop of all the new school shit, he is really original. He is mad and charming in his madness. Thrill Pill is the icing on the cake of postmodernity, after which you can loudly slam the gate of the era. He is her symbol and the final chord. He, not Face, as many believe.

He has the track “Death of a Commentator”. He did one, it seems to me, unconscious thing in him. One of the pillars of postmodernity as a cultural movement is Roland Barthes’ essay “Death of the Author” with all the ideas that flow from it. Think about how Thrill Pill wraps up all this shit and how it ***** but harmonizes with his image. I don’t know if he did it consciously or not, but if he did it on purpose, then it’s fucking genius. This is not for you to quote Tsoi or some Brodsky. Bart only Oxxxymiron knows, maybe, but he is the smartest because. nine0003

PRO ALCOHOL

It’s like being married for 15 years with your wife. You already can’t stand him, you can’t see him, you’re sick of this x **** and, but you still get drunk all the time. I have a civil marriage with a bottle of whiskey.

There were a lot of things in adolescence. There is a funny story about how my parents no longer have any questions about whether I drink or not. I celebrated my 16th birthday at a friend’s dacha, quite far from home. In fact, my comrade and I were impatient to throw out some kind of stupidity, and we went home very drunk in the middle of the night. We arrived at six or seven in the morning, they were still sleeping, it was a day off. I fall asleep, and when I wake up, I hear my parents discussing the check from the Magnet, which I just forgot to throw away. And there were several blocks of cigarettes and a bunch of bottles of vodka. I lay there for about forty minutes, imagining what kind of f****lei they would give me. But when I came out, they just looked at me with a silent and consenting look. Then I realized that all the questions about my lifestyle from my parents disappeared by themselves. nine0003

HIS COLLEAGUES HE ADVISES TO FOLLOW

We had such an association “every barber”. Appeared against the backdrop of some solo battle. They overpowered each other and decided to unite, as is usually the case. I joined them a little later, when they were already a more or less assembled team. Now, formally, it no longer exists, but we still sit in the same conference, communicate, and contact. All have gone solo.

Playingtheangel is doing well now – Yura is a very talented dude who has been in the shadows for a long time. He has a very specific way of writing texts. This is the rare case when graphomania becomes your thing. He sometimes uses completely incoherent things in the texts, but it sounds very cool, figurative and atmospheric. nine0003

Vlad Aikko can be followed. There is also my friend zygomaticus, but he is just starting his journey. Behind my comrade Sted.d. But Egor Nats, for example, will soon go to the first round, and others are also slowly moving forward.

IS HE A GRAPHOMAN?

Emotionality cannot be equated with graphomania, I think. If a person experiences some emotions, then he writes about them. Graphomania, in my opinion, may be in some rapper Dom!no. I do not believe that you can sing about the same thing for ten years. If a person has released five or six tracks on the same topic about what worries him, and looked at it from different angles, this is one thing, this is analysis, this is personal or general relevance, and not graphomania. I have tracks that I can be ashamed of, but I am absolutely not ashamed of them, since this is my story and my legend. nine0003

I used to write a lot of songs about childhood and adolescence, but now I have almost none of them. In general, the three fundamental pillars in any creativity, as for me, are the problem of self-realization and time, the problem of growing up and the dualism of boredom / poverty. From the last Schopenhauer scrolled in agreement in his coffin. LSP has a perfect example: there was a track “I need more money”, and then “I’m bored with life” appeared. And it becomes very easy to distinguish a dude who writes to write – he has no development, fifty albums about grandmas, heifers, some other f **** zia. Only the tone of the autotune changes. nine0003

ABOUT HIS MAIN PROJECT FINAL FANTASY

This is one huge story that started its journey in 2016. The latest album, for example, I would characterize as a theoretical spin-off of a legend. Imagine if a film were released in the universe of The Lord of the Rings, where they would not cover Frodo carrying the ring to Mordor, but the power of the Ring, its history, its geopolitical significance in Middle-earth, the emotions of the blacksmith who forged this ring and the reasons for the spermotoxicosis of the customer who wished to have such a ring. nine0003

I once thought of releasing Final Fantasy as a big concept album. The new track “I will come to you with strawberries in December”, for example, was part of it. But then I came to the conclusion that the story is so huge and multifaceted that it cannot be captured in one album. And if you break it into several, then you will also get such a mess. So I changed my approach – I will periodically release tracks and EPs, supported by stories or various essays. And so gradually I will reveal everything. I’m even writing a novel. For your pleasure. The piece from Final Fantasy attached to “Strawberry” also applies to him. I’ll finish maybe in 10 years.

ABOUT EASTER Eggs in Tracks

For the new song “I will come to you with strawberries in December”, I attached an excerpt from the corresponding story, and we made the drawing that serves as the cover for it back in 2016. Back then, I placed a picture of strawberries in a password-protected archive, the key to which was the album “Crown of Thorns of Evolution” and specifically the track “Caduceus”. The art for this song, which I specifically released separately from the album a few days later, even shows a key with a lock. The phrase “caduceus is the key” later became one of the iconic phrases at our concerts. The riddle could not be solved for two years and only a couple of months ago they found the answer. nine0003

If you look at the preview of the album “Feed the Demons on a Schedule”, you can see strange text with references to the story. When I sent it to iTunes, they asked me to send a normal text, they say, it’s not clear to *** me. I answered that this is a normal text, guys, this is art, no one understands it. Such things will still appear in the future. They will be part of the Final Fantasy world.

Some people ask why bother with it. Z **** al, they say, write tracks, who needs it at all and is interested. But they miss the point that in the first place this is done not for the sake of wanting to surprise someone, but first of all to surprise oneself. If you stop excelling in your creativity, then it starts to **** you. It’s like doing push-ups all the time, but not squatting – that’s a Brol-style comparison. If an artist does work that he himself is not interested in, then it turns out x **** that. I was very lucky with the audience – they not only perceive it with interest, but also take a very active part in maintaining and developing all this. nine0003

WHAT ART SHOULD BE

There was such an artist, Felix Gonzalez-Torres. He has a ***** performance, in my opinion, almost the most brilliant and significant in the 20th century. In general, his partner died of AIDS, and in his honor he poured a bunch of sweets in his room. The total weight of the sweets was equal to the weight of his lover. Any visitor to the museum could take as much as he wanted from there, up to complete looting by greedy sweet tooth. In fact, he gave the viewer the opportunity to interact with the art object, thereby linking everyone into the “viewer-picture” system, making involvement and interaction an important part of the performance. Taking something from someone for ourselves, we often take it from another. nine0003

Well, art is simple: candy or life.

October New Music Review: Coldplay, Tequilajazzz, James Blake and more – October 19, 2021 com

Share

Music producer Denis Rubin studied the new music of the month especially for Fontanka and tells what is worth listening to and what can be skipped.

In the October review of musical novelties – an unfulfilled miracle from Coldplay, a star crew under the direction of Tom Morello, lyrical experiments with sound from James Blake, mutating pop Trizah, the long-awaited album Tequilajazzz, old school rap of the ex-Pasosh member, the first longplay veterans of St. Petersburg abstract hip-hop True Flavas and the fourth album this year by Alexei Aigi, this time as a duo. nine0176

Coldplay. Music of The Spheres

Author: youtube.com/Coldplay

I am proud that at the beginning of the 2000s I was one of the first in the domestic musical environment to notice the appearance of the first Coldplay album Parachutes. I remember how I tried to convince the then music editor of Radio Nostalgie that he just needed to put the band’s songs on the radio station’s playlist. The songs didn’t make the playlist, but I was right. Just a few weeks later, all the radio waves of the country were filled with bright, emotional and at the same time strict micro-masterpieces by Chris Martin. nine0005

The band’s second album went to the public no worse than the first. But then Martin became interested in the details of his personal life and building a public image. And the songs of Coldplay, at least it seemed to me, have faded into the background.

This didn’t stop loyal fans, they adored their idol and enthusiastically met each new creation of the ensemble. To me, the fresh releases of the team were heard more like echoes of reviews. In general, Coldplay was praised, noted that the ensemble is gaining power and persuasiveness, “overgrown with meat.” My personal targeted attempts to return to listening to the band’s songs were unsuccessful. Persuasiveness and the truth was present, but the “cling” ceased. nine0005

The meeting with the last album was a chance for me to rediscover the band and return to the ranks of its fans. I regret to admit that the miracle did not happen. The record seems to be a tortured and pompous attempt to flirt with pop music. Monstrous layers of sounds and arrangements, frontal melodies and an overall feeling of incredible boredom. It’s sad when a group has nothing to say by and large, and the position obliges them to give out regular incorruptibles.

Apparently intuitively aware that something is broken, Coldplay decided to support the release of the new release with near-musical news and announced that they plan to tour in support of the album on renewable energy. With the help of special equipment at each concert, fans’ jumps will be turned into electricity that feeds the concert equipment. The only problem is that under such songs it is difficult to count on the active jumps of the fans. And the light bulb speakers have every chance to go out right in the middle of the performance. nine0005

James Blake. Friends That Brake Your Heart

Author: youtube.com/James Blake

Once upon a time, James Blake blew up the entire music lover community, guessing to sing piercing pop songs framed by the most fashionable at that time alternative electronic dubstep style.

The result was impressive, both sides benefited from this union. Dubstep quickly became a massive music trend and was adopted by the most fashionable producers. And Blake was among the top artists for advanced youth. nine0005

Having set the bar high from his very first release, the artist finds the strength and talents in himself so as not to lose quality. His albums are released quite rarely, but each one becomes a small revolution in terms of working with sound.

Blake and his team are always on the lookout for new styles and trends to learn and “appropriate”. Therefore, each new work of the artist is “at the forefront” of sound.

But if that was the only secret, James Blake would never have become so popular. All new sounds are just an organic and heartfelt background for his phenomenal voice and unique compositional talent. The combination of deeply personal and topical is the recipe that never fails the musician. nine0005

His latest work has received mostly lukewarm reviews. I understand why: it doesn’t have a well-defined musical format. It is eclectic and constantly deceives expectations. It has too much experimentation.

The album seemed to me perhaps the most personal and consistent statement of a mature musician. Blake seems to have let go of himself and is finally doing what he wants. He defeated all styles, stopped looking back at the sound, finally became himself and is infinitely interesting for this. nine0005

Tom Morello. Atlas Underground Fire

Author: youtube.com/Tom Morello

Looking at Tom Morello’s album artwork and studying the titles of the songs and the line-up of the project, it seems that this is a compilation or soundtrack to an unknown film. No integrity, no expressed message to the listener. But still, this is a full-fledged album by a member of Rage Against The Machine, who has long gone on a solo voyage. Just on this voyage, he gathered a motley crew and practically gave him self-government. According to the apt expression of critics, Morello pressed the “pop button” on this album, as if he set himself the goal, without bothering too much with the concept and integrity, to compose and record a bunch of peppy and tenacious hits with friends. nine0005

When listening to the album, it “crumbles” along the road and “leaks” from all the holes. But a lot can be forgiven for a few songs on this record. For example, for AC/DC’s drum version of Highway To Hell, performed with Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder.

Tirzah. Colourgrade

Author: Tir zah/youtube.com

A very young British singer began to compose her songs almost in Greek. But she was quickly figured out by the respected alternative label Domino Records and taken under her wing. As a result, by now the singer has two full-fledged albums, recorded in collaboration with Mica Levi (Micachu), well-known in narrow music circles. These albums on a formal basis can be classified as a section of pop music. But this pop is made in such a cunning way that critics are in no hurry with definitions and, rather, classify the singer’s work as “experimental music”. nine0005

If your soul desires simple melodies, but you consider yourself too complex and a sophisticated consumer of beauty, listening to Tirzah’s creations will bring you unconditional joy and complete satisfaction. Still, pop music is now at the forefront of working with sound and mastering current styles. And the new album of the young Englishwoman is another proof.

Tequila j azzz . Stones

Author: youtube.com/Tequilajazzz family

Tequilajazzz is the guiding thread of our alternative music. Holding on to it, for many years we confidently follow the intricate paths of the musical labyrinth. We grow up along with the albums of the group, taste preferences are transformed in sync with the change in the style of “Tequila”. There are uncompromising hardcore albums in the band’s archive, there are albums filled with 100% hits. There are even frankly monotonous and discreet records. But every time Yevgeny Fedorov manages to create an accurate and appropriate statement, which, on the one hand, takes into account all the trends of our time, and on the other hand, there is not even a hint of deflection under the circumstances. nine0005

“Stones” is another peak, acme Tequilajazzz, a record that has collected all the music and all the words that the band has lived for over twenty years. A crystallized meaning, a sound that has reached wise understanding. A work that absorbed all the insights of the team. Songs that are hardcore in spirit and mood, at the same time complex and in terms of mastery of performance, deserve to be on a par with the masterpieces of world prog-rock. Strict and discreet texts. And the almost complete absence of action hits. But in this case, this is by no means a shortcoming of the album. Rather, it was a thoughtful step and the desire to put each individual track exactly where it should be, without standing out from the rest of the statements, without dragging the blanket of meaning over itself. nine0005

Alexey Aigi and Arkady Marto. DA

Author: youtube.com/Alexei Aigui

If the Musical Stakhanovite Prize were established in Russian music, Alexei Aigi would rightfully have received it this year. Two full-fledged albums with “Ensemble 4.33”, several soundtracks, and now also a brilliant record “for two” – a duet of Aigi and pianist, pioneer of electronic Russian music Arkady Marto.

Marto was one of the last to appear in Ensemble 4.33. But with his arrival, the sounds of the keyboards began to set a new direction. And if in Ensemble 4.33 the interaction of violin and piano was one of the storylines, then in the duet’s side project that appeared along the way, this dialogue became a natural and main content. nine0005 Aigi loves to “hooligan”, set off the significance of his music with an ironic and ambiguous background. This tactic allows the composer to cope with the bestial seriousness of minimalism, and instead of putting everything on his altar, turn it into a toy in his own hands. According to this principle, there is a duet of Aigi – Marto. Starting each of their works with a game of neoclassicism, they very quickly and naturally go peddling and tear all the pompous avant-garde to shreds.

An additional charm of the situation is created by the deceptive stereotype of perception of the piano-violin duet. The composition is rather suitable for some Parisian cafe-chantant, and the musicians themselves are well aware of this and play this cliché with great pleasure, giving themselves the opportunity to sometimes suffer lyrically and squeeze out a romantic tear. But all this is only in order to thump the keys and strike the strings at the most unexpected moment, add the sounds of morning coffee or the radio to the melody and deceive our expectations. nine0005 These musicians are generally big deceivers and extremely frivolous people. For this, as well as for the continuous chain of musical revelations, we love them.

True Flavas. True Flavas

If anyone can be called an enduring symbol of the St. Petersburg alternative electronic scene, it is undoubtedly the True Flavas quartet. The four guys started as a DJ quartet and took part in all the significant dance events in the city. They performed on equal terms with the most powerful visiting celebrities and created the right vibe and groove wherever circumstances required it. nine0005

During its existence, the project has been repeatedly transformed and, as a result, it has turned from an exclusively DJ staff into a full-fledged live band playing instrumental music.

The only thing the band didn’t have was a full album. And finally, this gap in the biography of the group is filled. True Flavas recorded a disc, which was immediately released by a reputable European label on limited vinyl with unique artwork.

There is no need to even talk about music here. Everyone who cares knows what to expect from these advanced and thoughtful musicians, who not only have a rare taste in music, but also excellent composing and performing skills that have been repeatedly tested in the most difficult field conditions of countless concerts, raves and parties. Abstract hip-hop is alive, at least in a single northern cultural capital.

Petar Martic. Petar

Author: youtube.com/Petar Martic

Not so long ago, the scandal related to the abuse by the leader of the Pasosh group died down, which eventually led to the collapse of this very group – by the way, one of the most popular among young people. But, as it turned out, musically it played a positive role.

The disappearance of the guitar “Pasoš” led Petar Martić to search for his own creative identity and eventually threw him into the turbulent waters of hip-hop. What is especially pleasant, Martic’s hip-hop turned out to be not from the category of that now fashionable and frankly gouging musical format, in which it is impossible to cling to words, music, or bits. Martic recorded his solo debut album in the genre of old school, beloved by all old people, in which catchy samples, springy drums and a general senseless-ironic mood are in place. nine0003

Ironic is a very important word in this case. Because the content of the album, according to the artist himself, is an attempt to delve into oneself and tell about one’s current life as cheerfully, simply, and most importantly, mercilessly as possible in relation to oneself.

The album turned out to be vigorous. A definition that has been very rarely applied to contemporary music in recent times. And this is an absolute success.
