FAQs for finding an in-home nanny near you

What is a in-home nanny?

An in-home nanny cares for a child or multiple children consistently and lives in your home with you, which can be convenient for both your family and your nanny. There are in-home nannies who specialize in different areas of care, such as infant care. You can also hire a bilingual nanny who can read to and speak to your child in a different language.

Are in-home nannies background checked?

All in-home nannies on Care.com are asked to complete an annual background check called a CareCheck and the in-home nannies who complete it have a badge on their profile that displays the date it was run. While a CareCheck is a great jumping off point, but we strongly suggest that you do your own due diligence when hiring a live-in nanny and request references and do your own private background check.

Do in-home nannies pay rent?

No, generally in-home nannies don’t pay rent to the families that hire them. The family can benefit greatly from the convenience of having an additional care giver in the home and an in-home nanny can save on living expenses — making this arrangement a win for both parties.

We collect ratings and real reviews about babysitters and hotels presented on the site. Every zoo nanny is tested by Dogsy.

With Dogsy, you can find reliable dog care with a caring and responsible zookeeper in your area who will look after your dog during your trip or vacation.

We are convinced that a home stay is better than a hotel for dogs, as it is tolerated by the animals with minimal stress. Our mission is to give your dog a vacation with a loving dog sitter while you are away on vacation!
