Teacher Jobs in Houston, TXJobs in Houston, TX

How many kindergartens are there in Russia? Teachers, educators, children?

How many kindergartens do we have in the country? And, more broadly, how many teachers, educators, children (pupils), etc.? It turned out that this information is available and has been published on the Rosstat website for six years in a row. But it is collected in rather bulky tables. Who cares – can dig, and who wants to immediately get answers to the most interesting questions – welcome to this article!

Which preschool institutions are included in the statistics?

Rosstat information consists of 36 excel tables and a file with brief methodological comments. Moreover, the tables are not numbered consecutively, but from 2 to 48. Perhaps the statistical office collects more data, but not all of them are intended for general access.

In addition, it is not entirely clear which kindergartens and other preschool institutions are included in the statistics. The comments only say that “Form is provided by legal entities of all forms of ownership and departmental affiliation (except for small businesses) “. Therefore, it is logical to assume that the statistics accurately include all state kindergartens, kindergartens at schools and universities, as well as corporate (private) kindergartens at large enterprises. But small private kindergartens, most likely, are not taken into account in the statistics. Even if they have a license.

The statistics themselves are published at the end of April of the year following the reporting year. Those. we will find out the statistics for 2020 in the spring of 2021.

How many kindergartens in Russia in 2020?

Table 42 contains the following information. The number of organizations carrying out educational activities in educational programs of preschool education, childcare and care: 47,090. Of these, preschool educational organizations: 35,704. At the same time, Table 41 indicates the number of buildings of preschool educational organizations: 46,274.

Thus, there are slightly more than 35,000 kindergartens proper in Russia, excluding small private ones. And this figure is decreasing every year.

2018 – 36,581.
2017 – 37,346.
2016 – 38,362.
2015 – 39,533.
2014 – 41,322.

How many kindergarten teachers?

There is a more definitive answer to this question. There are 676,693 teachers in Russian preschool institutions. Of these, there are 515,811 educators, and 24,126 senior educators.
2017 – 662,739 teachers, 510,655 educators, 23,126 senior educators.
2016 – 656,193 teachers, 507,589 educators, 22,466 senior educators.
2015 – 642,834 teachers, 500,166 educators, 21,243 senior educators.
2014 – 630,266 teachers, 491,096 educators, 19,772 senior educators.

Surprisingly, the dynamics of the number of teachers is directly opposite to the dynamics of the number of kindergartens. If the number of preschool institutions decreased by 13.5% over 6 years, then the number of teachers, on the contrary, increased by almost 7%!

Statistics of other teachers of preschool education

In addition to teachers, the following teachers are included in the statistics.

  • Music directors (44,107, 6.5% of the teaching staff).
  • Speech therapists (33,696.5%).
  • Physical education instructors (23,207, 3.4%).
  • Educational psychologists (18,056, 2.6%).
  • Teachers-defectologists (6,181, 0.9%).

Rosstat tables also contain data on individual regions, ages, and higher education.

How many children (pupils) attend kindergartens? Statistics of kindergartens

As of 2019, there are 6,344,581 pupils in 35,704 kindergartens. 178 per kindergarten. And in all 47,090 preschool institutions – 7,606,698 children. An average of 161 per institution.

And what about the dynamics over the years?

2018 – 6,363,079 (7,582,429).
2017 – 6,296,515 (7,477,932).
2016 – 6,211,316 (7,342,905).
2015 – 6,088,169 (7,151,553).
2014 – 5,852,028 (6,813,627).

Thus, the number of children in kindergartens increased by 7.7%, in all institutions – 10.4%. Which, in general, correlates with an increase in the teaching staff.
