AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Hockessin KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • Hockessin KinderCare has nurtured, taught, and, more importantly, loved our three boys. In the search for the right child care program six years ago, it was clear the center was the place for us.  Our center director, teachers, and staff care and it shows. Our kids have thrived in the rich and stimulating environment they are provided with daily. We love their curriculum and the overall nurturing environment in our center.

No daycare will always be perfec,t and we have certainly been through ups and downs, but never hesitated that our children were being cared for lovingly.

    Maria B. – KinderCare Parent
  • I have two children (ages 2 and 5) at KinderCare who both started as babies. I’ve had only positive experiences here. I would definitely recommend KinderCare to other families.

    Debbie W. – KinderCare Parent
  • Our son is 5 years old and has been at the Hockessin KinderCare Learning Center since he was 6 months old. My parents had been able to watch my two older children when they were young and I was nervous and skeptical about daycare centers. From our first visit, Sheryl and her staff were kind, patient and understanding. I breastfed our son exclusively for the first year and another year after that. The staff were always supportive and helpful with this challenge. Every stage since the infant room has been stressfree and satisfying. The kindergarten program has exceeded our expectations. Our only “problem” has been keeping up with all the daily activities and comprehensive communications from Ms. Megan. We all love her! Our son will age out of KinderCare in the fall (we still hope to use aftercare) and my search for a new school opened my eyes to the quality and value of our money. The dedication and caring of the Center Director has been unwavering during our time here. We have never regretted our decision to have our son in this community.

Liz and Steve M. – KinderCare Parent
  • It is a pleasure to be part of this center. The staff is warm, caring, and professional.

    Josephine and Dan D.

    – KinderCare Parent

  • We are thrilled with our 5-year-old’s experience. We love his teacher and the staff. His classroom is a good learning environment and his teacher plans fabulous activities.

Tara and Mark M. – KinderCare Parent
  • We are fairly new to our KinderCare center, and all we can say is that it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family.  We did not choose the center because that is was where we wanted our children to go, but in actuality our children fell in love with the place and so did we – so the decision was easy!  Their staff is awesome and their extracurricular programs are great as well!  My husband and I love all the updates and pictures we get sent home with our little ones, which give us a glimpse of their day to day routines.   We will forever be loyal to our KinderCare center and highly recommend it to all friends and family.

    Yarely D. – KinderCare Parent

In the Urals, a four-year-old girl broke her femur in kindergarten – June 23, 2023

Anya was playing with her sister and jumped unsuccessfully. A four-year-old girl was in the hospital for a long time

Share

In the kindergarten “Svetlyachok” in the village of Svetly (not far from Aramil), a four-year-old girl broke her femur during a walk. It all happened on March 28, the pupil played on the playground with her sister and, according to her mother Irina, another friend. The little ones were running and slapping each other, suddenly Anya (the name of the child has been changed) fell. She screamed and could no longer stand up. Later, doctors diagnosed her with a closed pathological fracture in the left femur with a displacement.

Irina believes that an ambulance was called late in the kindergarten.

— They first called my aunt to come pick her up, then they only contacted me. I asked if they called an ambulance or not, they told me that they didn’t. I say, don’t touch her, put her down and call an ambulance,” Irina told E1. RU. Now they are trying to make us feel guilty.

The baby has such a seam on her leg

Share

— I have already applied to the Ombudsman for Children and the Prosecutor’s Office. We are preparing a statement to the court for a moral claim, as well as for an oversight of the caregiver for the child. I believe that the examination was carried out incompletely and of poor quality. The prosecutor’s office told me that there was not even a signal from the kindergarten that the child was injured, aren’t they obliged to pass on such information? Irina doesn’t understand.

The police refused to open a criminal case because they could not assess the severity of the injury.

— The lack of medical documents with detailed data from the initial examination, as well as medical documents with data on the state of health before these events, does not allow us to speak about the mechanism, duration and severity of the injury, the police order says.

More than two months have passed, the girl had an operation. It was only on June 20 that my mother received a certificate of an accident in kindergarten, but did not sign it. The woman decided to appeal the refusal to initiate a criminal case to the prosecutor’s office, but they have not yet found grounds for canceling it. Nevertheless, Irina will demand compensation from the kindergarten for the moral damage caused to her and her daughter.

The girl underwent a serious operation

Lyudmila Petrikova, head of the kindergarten, said that the teacher acted according to her job description: during the emergency, an ambulance was immediately called to the kindergarten and her mother was informed about her daughter’s injury , but she could not come quickly, as she was at work.

She explained that the child was diagnosed with a disease: the girl had a fragile femur (as doctors later told her mother, a cyst was found there). According to the manager, a fracture could have been provoked by any, even a minor, blow or fall.

“We are investigating, an internal investigation is underway,” Lyudmila Fedorovna explained to E1.RU. The girl jumped wrong. We do not relieve ourselves of responsibility, but there is a twofold question. There was a doctor in the kindergarten, everything was done according to the job description. We called an ambulance right away, there was a call to my parents, it was all recorded by a surveillance camera, we have a private security company. We cannot give any medicine without the consent of the parents, you understand. Mom didn’t come right away.

Read detailed instructions on how a school or day care center should act if a child is injured.

Earlier, in one of the kindergartens in Yekaterinburg, a boy got stuck under a bed: two teachers had to pull him out by force at once. We told how in the Ural village a mother sued the teacher for beatings, and in Verkhnyaya Pyshma at the end of May, mother herself had a fight with the teacher (the conflict was caught on video).
