About the Provider

Description: More than 40 years ago, we set out to provide a basic necessity for many Texas families… quality child care. Today, Child Care Associates is the largest private non-profit child development organization in this area, operating 37 child development centers throughout Fort Worth and Tarrant County. We also oversee several other programs and special initiatives in this region, all focused on early childhood development.

Child Care Associates currently has a collaboration with two Tarrant County school districts using resources provided by Fort Worth ISD and Hurst/Euless/Bedford ISD that consists of 40 classrooms on a number of elementary school campuses. We also have other local collaborations where ISD teachers spend quality classroom time in our child development centers.

The program offers a wide range of individualized services in education medical dental mental health nutrition and social services for the children and their families.

Early 20th Century USA / Autochrome Photographs /1916-1930

The autochrome process was the first available method of producing color photographs used by National Geographic Society photographers. In 1935, Kodachrome color multilayer film appeared, expanding the possibilities of color printing with more advanced technological processes. But by 1938, the collection of accumulated autochrome photographs already numbered more than 12,000 shots.

In July 1914 National Geographic magazine published its first natural color photographs. They demonstrated the possibilities of autochrome and changed the style of the magazine cover. This series of retro photographs was created by National Geographic Society photographers who used the autochrome process. They covered different aspects of American life, culture and magnificent scenery.
