  • About Happy Apple Preschool

Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, Happy Apple is a fun and involving place for your child to play and learn.

Happy Apple Preschool is now enrolling for the fall term. We will be on the Hillsboro school district schedule. Happy Apple uses Montessori curriculum but also introduces a Waldorf style of learning. We are a small school with a maximum capacity of 20 students/day.

The Happy Apple approach is one in which careful attention is placed on nurturing the child’s innate joy and passion for education. This process happens as the child does meaningful work, completes a task successfully from start to finish and explores all life has to offer. At Happy Apple Preschool your child will enjoy learning and discovering. We teach math, reading, science, art and music. We also enjoy going for a daily nature walk.

Practical Life: Instills care for self, for others, and for the environment. Activities include many of the tasks children see as part of the daily routine in their home, such as preparing food and washing dishes, along with exercises of grace and courtesy.

Sensorial: Builds cognitive skills and ability to order and classify impressions by touching, seeing, smelling, tasting, listening and exploring the physical properties of a child’s environment.

Math: Gives children a solid understanding of basic mathematical principles, prepares them for later abstract reasoning, and helps to develop problem-solving capabilities.

Language: Includes exploration of verbal and written language, learning the phonics and left to right progression.

Science: Botany, biology, cause and effect, and engineering.

Geography and Culture: Exploration of people in other countries, with an attitude of respect and admiration.

Art: Gives children every opportunity to enjoy a variety of creature activities.

Music: Learn timing, beat, melody and the passion of music.

You can enroll full-time Monday-Friday or choose between two part-time options M/W/F or T/T. Your child needs to be 3-5 years old and potty trained.

Essays. “Happy Apples…” Three stories.

Greetings, dear friends! In the rubric “ Literary Essay ” I do not aim to teach you how to write an essay. I will simply introduce the best, in my opinion, works in this genre by Tatyana Lonskaya and other authors. The topic was called so – “Essay.” Happy apples …”. The heading is led by the writer, screenwriter, psychologist Tatyana Lonskaya, an interesting interview with her can be read by clicking on link .

Content of article

  • 1 Happy apples …
      • 1.0.1 History The first in the genre of detective …
      • 1.0.2 The second micro-historian in the genre of comedy horror …
    • 1.1 finally

Today I thought – what stories do I know about apples? Because I know for sure. So I’ll tell you three of them.

The first story in the detective genre…

It was many, many years ago, when I was three years old, and then we lived in Hungary. As a girl, I was hyperactive and, frankly, not very obedient. Though you can’t tell from the looks of it. For an accurate representation, she is over there in black and white. My parents screwed up with me. In their place, I would quickly bring this girl to a common denominator. Although, to be honest, I myself still can’t always cope … So, detective. One day I got lost…

It was like that. We went for a walk to the playground with my older brother. He was then fourteen. He has always, since childhood, been very caring and attentive. Mom could easily rely on him. She was only told by everyone that her son was golden. And then he turned away for a second, and I once … and disappeared. Not near the swing, not in the sandbox, not in the house. Nowhere.

Our town was closed, the entrance was through a checkpoint, there was no one else on the territory. And, in principle, it was impossible to seriously get lost there. But still, of course, the brother was very scared. And he rushed to ask all the children if they had seen his unlucky younger sister.

Several guys volunteered to help him.
– What does she look like? asked the eldest.
– An ordinary little girl … in a dress and sandals.
– Are there any special signs? – seriously asked the second. Maybe a toy or a stroller? What was in her hands.
– Apple! brother remembered.
– Which apple?
– Large. Red.
– We saw a girl with a red apple – the children were excited from all sides. – She went over there.

Lucky, you see, I had an apple. Because it was precisely according to his signs, and by no means according to my own, that I was immediately tracked down and returned to my family. Although, that’s how it was. Dad laughed that in his memories I was always a little girl with a big apple in my hands, which I gnawed in a spiral, like a caterpillar.

The second micro-story in the comedy horror genre…

And it starts like this… In one very ordinary house, there was an apple on the shelf… Big, beautiful, striped, with a pink barrel. And then one day, teeth prints appeared on this apple from nowhere … Scary? If it’s not very good yet, then it’s worth adding that it was an apple made of wax…

Well, how is it? Good tie? And this apple, by the way, was also mine. Where it came from, I have no idea. But, if you saw how beautiful it is! A wax model made of such high quality that, until you pick it up, you will never believe that it is artificial.

And then one day my little niece came to visit me (just the daughter of my brother, who lost me in the previous series). She really liked this apple, which stood high on the bookshelf, and she asked to eat it.

I explained to the little girl that this apple is not real, like a toy. I even took it from the shelf and gave it to her to make sure. I saw distrust in her eyes, but she still lagged behind with the request. And only much later I saw a mark on the apple from her teeth. As the saying goes: “Remember from childhood: trust, but verify!”

And in conclusion, everyone’s favorite melodrama. Well, where am I without her? A very sweet and touching family story. My grandmother Lisa on my father’s side had a cousin. When I met her, everyone already called her Baba Palashka, but in her youth she was a very beautiful and prominent girl, and she had enough suitors. And then one day she went to a fair in another large village and there she met a guy who saw her and fell in love on the spot.

Everything! Love blinds its eyes, it does not see anyone else in front of it. Well, he arrived a couple of days later in her village, found a house and began to get married. She also liked him very much, but it was not easy for them. Either the local guys will sweep away the stray boyfriend, or her father will drive him out of the yard with a pitchfork.
– Get out! – says, – And do not disgrace my daughter. She will never be with a stranger! Enough suitors.
“I don’t think so,” the guy says. “You will still give your daughter to me. I love her. She loves Me. We’ll have a wedding in the fall. On Michaelmas day. For my birthday.

And it was in August, and this conversation took place near an apple tree, all strewn with small, still ripening apples.
“Unless we pick apples from this apple tree at your wedding,” the father chuckled, and everyone present laughed.
– Hands on? The cheeky guy held out his hand. – Either I will treat you with apples from this apple tree and take your daughter away, or I will leave your yard forever.

The girl saw how her father hit the groom’s hand with his hand and gasped. Michaelmas day 21 November. And at most in October, there will be nothing left on the apple tree except foliage. Really, will her Michael refuse her?

Time passed. The apples ripened and fell into the grass like the leaves of a calendar counting down the last happy days of their love. Pelageya was sad and more and more often tried to cry, and Mikhail, on the contrary, smiled, because several apples at the very top of the old apple tree continued to blush through the foliage.

Gradually almost the whole village began to watch these apples. After all, what miracles! Already October has rained down on the leaves, even these withered leaves on the branches are gone, and the apples are turning red. The aging father could not reach the top with thin branches, but tried to shake the apple tree so that it would drop the last, like enchanted apples.

Probably, he would even have cut down the tree, but in this case, the stubborn lucky groom would still have the last word. In a word, in order not to languish for a long time, we waited for apples on the branch of Michael’s Day.
– Pick the apples with your own hands so that they don’t fall on the ground, I’ll keep my word, I’ll give my daughter for you.

In front of the eyes of fellow villagers, Mikhailo climbed onto the snow-covered branches caught by the first frost. His bride trembled like a candle flame in a November wind. If only at the very last moment nothing broke…

But the young, perky guy picked apples, put them in his bosom, and went downstairs. He took a bite of one apple himself, handed the other to his future father-in-law…
— How did it happen to you, grandfather Mikhail? I looked at him with wide eyes. – Was it not scary to touch the apples, barely holding on to the branches? After all, they could fall to the ground at the very last minute.
– It was terrible that no one would see how I cut the hanks with which the apples were tied with a knife …

I laugh, and everyone around laughs. Mikhail and Pelageya have a happy family, they gave birth to five children. But the most interesting thing is that it was Mikhail who introduced my grandmother Lisa to my grandfather. And Pelageya became my dad’s godmother. So if it wasn’t for the third story, there wouldn’t be the first two. I wouldn’t be writing this, and you wouldn’t be reading and smiling.

Finally

Does it happen to you when you read something close to your heart, it seems that you thought exactly that, but did not have time to write it? What you read is completely consistent with your inner world, but it was kept somewhere inside for a long time, waiting in the wings. This is the whole essay genre: write only what is close and interesting to you. This genre is subjective, so its assessment can be subjective. What I like does not cause emotions in another. Therefore, write reviews on the works you have read – we will discuss together.

Tatyana Nikolaevna Lonskaya has the official website RAF read-and-find , which tells in more detail about her, about her work. Books can be purchased from the online store at link .

“POOL APPLES” happy comedy! March 23, 2022 YOUTH PALACE (Lenin St. 1) start at 19.00.

In memory of the outstanding contemporary director Nar. Art. Russia A. A. Goncharova. Based on the play by A. N. Ostrovsky “The truth is good, but happiness is better.”

Stage edition art. Russia R. Madyanova. Artist Julia Aks.

The play “Truth is good, but happiness is better” was written by Ostrovsky in 1876 especially for the benefit performance of his friend, the actor Nikolai Musil, as an everyday comedy. She remains so today.

Quiet Zamoskvorechye. Fragrant fruits are poured in apple orchards. This is how young hearts want love. But so many things do not fit into the merchant’s concepts of happiness and nobility, truth and honor, freedom and dignity!.. Is it really necessary to wait for a happy occasion in order to reunite with a loved one? Or maybe a secret Well-wisher will change everything?

Ostrovsky tells us a cheerful, funny, sentimental and wise story about an apple orchard, truth and happiness. Of course, no one argues – the truth is one. But each person has his own truth, which for him is somehow undeniable and holy. And, most often, the truth is in happiness! And that there is in our souls the ability to be happy.
