This center has been nothing but GREAT to my daughter, and for my family. I would trust any teacher in this building with my child, and I am thankful for the education she has because of them. Really couldn’t recommend a better facility, or better childcare teachers.

Meet Our Director, Tiara Compton

Hello, my name is Tiara Compton. I am 35 years old and have over 12 years of experience in childcare. I started my career at the Sunshine House in 2008 as a Toddler Room Teacher. I left for a year and decided to return as an Assistant Director.

I recently graduated from Stanly Community College with my Associate Degree. I plan to attend the University of Mount Olive in the spring to get my Bachelor Degree. US Uptime Service

Business story

Taylor White, vice president of AMX, has many reasons for choosing the Volvo brand. And they include a new Uptime Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is saving his company time and money.

Alabama Motor Express, a family business, began operations at 1980s with just a few trucks. Today the company has grown to a huge enterprise with 310 employees and a fleet of 240 vehicles.

Taylor White, vice president of AMX, has many reasons for choosing the Volvo brand. One of them is the new Uptime Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, which saves his company time and money.

Alabama Motor Express, a family business, started in the 1980s with just a few trucks. Today the company has grown to a huge enterprise with 310 employees and a fleet of 240 vehicles, 70 percent of which are Volvo. nine0003

“I’ve been involved with this company in one way or another all my life,” says Walter White, who shares the vice president of Alabama Motor Express with his brother Collins White. “We had a time when we exclusively used Volvo equipment, and there were times when Volvo’s share was only 40%. But to the question of which car is the most reliable, I will answer without hesitation – Volvo.

Taylor White, vice president of Alabama Motor Express.

nine0003

In addition to the brand’s signature quality, Taylor says he now has another selling point for Volvo equipment. New 11,400+ sq. m., located in Greensboro, North Carolina, not only saves his company time and money, but also helps to retain drivers.

Any large fleet is bound to run into technical issues, and the AMX is no exception. Taylor White says the services provided by the Uptime Center are indispensable. A recent incident reminded him of how useful the Center can be and how important it is to AMX. nine0003

One of the long haul vehicles on the route had an unexpected transmission failure. The vehicle immediately automatically sent an email notification to AMX, and a work case was opened in the Uptime Center. The Volvo Action Service emergency agent located the truck and called the nearest service center to order the required part, but it was out of stock and the waiting time was a week. However, the agent continued to search and eventually found a service center with the necessary part in stock just 16 kilometers from the first center. It took only a few hours to return the car to the route. nine0003

“We saved five days of downtime. The uptime center made a great decision to refer us to another service center: our costs were minimal, and the importance of this action can not be overestimated,” says Taylor White.

Just a few years ago, a mechanical failure could put a driver out of work for several days. AMX’s losses were not limited to the delay in delivery of the cargo: the company also incurred the costs associated with a hotel room, repairs and the loss of other orders. nine0003

When asked which car is the most reliable, I will answer without hesitation – Volvo.

Taylor White

Vice President of Alabama Motor Express

In addition, accumulating hours and days of downtime are forcing drivers to find other jobs to support their families. However, AMX’s driver retention rate consistently exceeds the industry average by 10%.

“I never tire of repeating this. To express in numbers all the financial and any other damage caused by downtime is almost impossible, ”says Taylor White. nine0003

Volvo Trucks understands that idle trucks mean loss of revenue for customers. That’s why Volvo Action Service emergency agents at the Uptime Center are available 24/7, 365 days a year. Every month the Center performs up to 20,000 work cases. With the expansion of the list of available services and services, this number continues to increase. Agents receive up to 18,000 incoming calls and approximately 28,000 outgoing calls per month. nine0003

Taylor White (left) and his brother Collins are vice presidents of Alabama Motor Express.

Remote diagnostics alerts drivers to emerging technical problems and reminds them to undergo regular maintenance checks. In emergency cases, VAS emergency service agents are involved in the work. They collect information about the fleet and find service centers closest to the current vehicle locations. nine0003

The new technology is incredible, says Taylor White, adding that he believes the continuous exchange of data between the vehicle and Volvo’s remote diagnostic platform represents a giant leap forward for the entire automotive industry.

“Your company has managed to completely get rid of any uncertainty. Thanks to this, our mechanics, service representatives and Volvo officials no longer have to rely solely on the word of the driver. One look is enough to understand what is really happening with the car.” nine0003

In addition, Volvo’s ASIST online service communication platform greatly simplifies documentation and job status updates by capturing every detail of every incident from the moment a problem occurs until the vehicle is back on the road.

“Without this, it would be difficult for us to track how effectively we are doing our job. Every detail is recorded in the system, and if at the moment some cases are still in progress, we can control them. As a result, not a single car stands idle.” nine0003

As Volvo expands, so does AMX, and Taylor White predicts that momentum will continue. An important factor in AMX’s success, he says, is the partnership with Volvo Trucks.

“We’re doing a job that we’re very good at, and that’s very important.
