I graduated from The Vanguard School in 2015 and attended all 13 school years (K-12) at Vanguard. I count myself incredibly lucky to have gone to such a rigorous school with such caring teachers and…I participated in several sports including karate, tennis, cross country, track, and basketball, and was involved heavily in the music and art departments. Now, as an adult with a 4-year degree and a job I love, I am incredibly thankful to The Vanguard School and all the teachers and administration there for pushing me to be my best in all things. .

★ Where to Stay in Colorado Springs: Best Areas and Hotels ★
In the shadow of Pikes Peak, Colorado’s second largest city stretches north and south on I-25 for about 15 miles and is divided into several neighborhoods that are often referred to as their central attraction and which usually also have several hotels. For example, Broadmoor is both a neighborhood and a luxury resort, while Garden of the Gods is a stunning redstone urban park, residential area and home to several hotels in various price ranges.
Colorado Springs also has four military bases, as well as US Air Force Academy at its northern tip, which forms a neighborhood with many accommodation options. Small Downtown is a strip centered on Tejon Street, between Platte and Colorado Avenue, where you’ll find shops, plenty of independent restaurants, and budget hotels in the luxury price range. Colorado Springs is also home to the US Olympic Games Committee (in the city center) and the US Olympic Training Center (located two miles to the north). Compared to neighboring Denver, just an hour north, Colorado Springs offers more variety at several price points, and rates tend to be lower overall.
Where to Stay in Luxury
Colorado Springs
Broadmoor is the most popular resort in Colorado Springs. A five-star, five-figure home, it’s a destination in its own right and feels like staying in a European lakeside village (complete with an artificial lake). It’s a mix of old and new styles spread across several buildings and everything is meticulous from foundation to maintenance to room decor. There are several restaurants and all kinds of events can be organized.
A short distance from the Broadmoor, the Cheyenne Mountain Resort also offers great views of Pikes Peak from its spacious rooms and spacious public areas. Built of wood and stone, the hotel has a great mountain feel. It is also a destination property offering five swimming pools plus an artificial lake with its own sandy beach for lazy summer days.
Garden of the Gods Club and Resort is another great choice in the luxury market, very value for money. The property occupies a great location with a view Garden of the Gods and Peaks Peak. The rooms and suites of this former private country club are spacious, immaculate and recently refurbished in a contemporary style. They feature private balconies with stunning views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Look at the wardrobes, which are the size of a small apartment and were originally built to house the wardrobe for the entire season of wealthy travelers who came from out of state for the winter or summer at the club.
Where to stay for the best price
Garden of the Gods
One of the best value options in town, the Quality Inn & Suites, Garden of the Gods is centrally located and has comfortable beds and immaculate rooms. The staff is very friendly and the complimentary breakfast buffet includes a hot selection.
The
Colorado Springs Marriott is another great value option at a slightly higher price point. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is very friendly. It is located on a hill and offers fantastic mountain views in all directions, including one from Peaks Peak. Don’t skip breakfast. The green chili is made from scratch and the omelet station is a guest favorite.
Just west of I-25 at Air Force north, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Colorado Springs North is also convenient for travel to and from Denver. Rooms are large and comfortable and come with refrigerators, microwaves and even Keurig coffee makers. Guests also receive 10 percent at select restaurants.
Finally, the Quality Suites Downtown is in a convenient location just a short drive west of in downtown properly with easy access to I-25 and offers a good choice if you want the space provided by the package – this is especially good for families. There is a heated pool and jacuzzi.
Where to Stay on a Budget
US Air Force Chapel
Colorado Springs has a solid number of budget options in good locations throughout the city. The Days Inn Colorado Springs Air Force Academy is one option. Located close to the school and close to I-25, it provides quick access to citywide attractions.
Also near Air Force , Comfort Inn North offers simple but clean rooms, friendly staff and a heated indoor pool. The rooms at the back of the hotel have great views.
If you’d rather stay off the chain, the Stagecoach Motel is a family run operation with a retro feel that takes you back to the 1950s era. The rooms are some of the cheapest in town and while clean and large, they do feel a bit dated. There is covered parking for every car, and the location south of City Center is convenient, but a little shortened.
Where to stay for romance
Scenic hot air balloon ride
The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of City Center , within walking distance of its attractions, and is a good choice for a romantic getaway. This is a majestic hotel in a building built in 1902. Rooms feature high ceilings, exposed brick walls and modern amenities such as 42-inch flat-screen TVs.
For a special romantic occasion, The Broadmoor is the gem of the city. The hotel has a great European feel to the modern world and offers a range of romance-focused packages throughout the year. In addition, the hotel offers Wilderness Experiences such as Cloud Camp, where guests can stay 3,000 meters above the Cheyenne Mountain peak resort. cabins; rooms for houses; or stay in the Flame Tower Suite, which is one of the most exclusive and private places to stay in the state.
Flying Horse Lodge is another romantic favourite. Part of the Flying Horse Country Club, this is a chic place with elegant rooms with covered balconies and views of the mountains or the golf course. Book a couples treatment at the spa.
