   Senior: Liberty is a fantastic school if you’re looking for a really good education. It has an amazing faculty and course structure. It’s small, so everyone knows everyone else. Everyone who goes to Liberty wants to be there, which is really nice because it creates an supportive and academic environment. The people at Liberty are really nice, and it’s easy to make friends. It has a pretty good variety of classes, although most of the focus is on STEM. There isn’t a big variety of art classes or languages, although there are some. The English classes at Liberty are fantastic, and possibly the best part of the whole school.
   However, if you want to do a lot of extra curriculars outside of school, Liberty is probably not the school for you. Time spent doing homework can range anywhere from one hour (on a good day) to four hours. It can be really hard to balance school life with just life. Liberty is a lot of work.    Parent: Love Kinard! The teachers push their students to work hard and they help one on one if they fall behind. We heard it was a lot of homework, and at first, had a hard time adjusting from elementary expectations. I’m glad it’s not something he has to get used to once he hits High School as it just seems standard now. His grades and overall attitude towards getting his work done and understanding what he’s learning have changed. The kids are taught responsibility for their grades and behavior and the teachers are very involved with the students and make it fun for them. Before we attended, I heard mixed reviews from friends and neighbors, “it’s the snobby school” and “the harder school” were the ones I heard the most.    Alum: Lesher Middle School was a great IB school to attend in order to prepare for IB/High School. The workload was not heavy, so there was plenty of opportunity to get involved in clubs, sports, etc. The only thing that was difficult is that there were not many free clubs to join – for example, if you found school to be easy and wanted a challenge, like chess club, I believe it was about $70 a semester to join when I attended. This could discourage some kids from getting involved with teams and clubs.

    Senior: I absolutely love the teaching style at LCS. I haven’t had a lecture class for anything other than science since I was in middle school as almost all of the classes are seminar-based. I even have a seminar-based math class! The school is rooted in several ‘core virtues’ and the school is modeled on Aristotle’s teachings of the true, the good, and the beautiful. It is a school that not only prepares you with an education but also with character beyond that of most people in society. they teach you to be able to learn for yourself and to formulate meaningful arguments that will become the greatest weapons against the world. Since LCS is a K-12, I have had the opportunity to attended for ten years.     Sophomore: As a student who has gone both to public and private schools, this school has been welcoming towards me and other students. Having emotionally available and supportive teachers and staff to help inspire others in their interest is something that I have found missing in other schools. Coming from a large public high school to Compass was a completely different experience. I can do individual learning for topics that I’m really interested in and I get credit for it. I also have teachers that check in on both my progress in school, giving me immediate and beneficial feedback, ideas, and checking in on my life overall. In addition to having a really amazing education, focusing on the core classes (I’ve been progressing so much, the difference between last year and now is astonishing), connecting with community partners such as CSU, and having competency (Communicate, Act, Reflect, Engage), I’ve been able to mentally grow. My daughter feels really supported in her academics and can access any of her teachers who will go out of their way to help her. In addition, my daughter has found lots of activities to participate in, whether it be clubs or athletics. She loves that she can participate in soccer, Book Club, and be involved in STEM activities like Lego Robotics and 3D printing. The school is growing so there are even more programs being offered.
