The subject-developing environment of the primary school classroom

The classroom is a school classroom equipped with educational equipment, manuals, and materials for the educational process. A modern school should meet the requirements of the time as much as possible, be effective, diverse, and contribute to obtaining the required level of knowledge and development. To do this, a developing subject environment of the classroom is being formed, allowing children to develop in accordance with their age, to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.

What is it?

The developing environment is the space surrounding the child in an educational institution. The emphasis on its formation is done in kindergartens and elementary schools, when the most active development of the mental and physical abilities of the child takes place. In the classroom, the environment is the objects that are used in the classroom, used for learning and development.

The subject environment should provide conditions for conducting lessons, circles, extracurricular activities. It is formed to help children and teachers in educational and educational purposes.

Primary school is an important stage in the life of every child. Children are moving to a new stage, becoming older, smarter. The work of teachers and the involvement of the surrounding space helps them in this.

Goals and objectives

The main goal of the formation of a developing environment is to create conditions for the harmonious development of the physical and intellectual abilities of elementary school children.

To achieve the goal, a set of tasks is solved:

  • creation of conditions for the implementation of the general education program;
  • child health protection;
  • creation of favorable conditions for the versatile development of the individual;
  • engaging children in the learning process with interest.

The office must have high-quality, full-fledged equipment to ensure the solution of these tasks.

Basic principles

When creating a developing environment, it is necessary to adhere to the following principles:

  • rational use of space, so that the free space in the office is used to the maximum;
  • interconnection of decoration, lighting and interior decoration;
  • variability, diversity to create a choice of activities.
  • By following the principles of the Federal State Educational Standard, you can create a multifunctional, comfortable, interesting environment that children will like.

    General requirements

    0003

    • the environment must perform a teaching, developing, motivating function;
    • the environment should work for the independence and self-sufficiency of the child in order to form positive personal qualities in him;
    • the environment must meet the needs and interests of children;
    • when shaping the environment, the characteristics of the age and mental state of children should be taken into account;
    • the shape and design of items focuses on the safety and age of children;
    • the color palette of interior items is represented by calm, pastel colors;
    • The environment should change according to the age of the children.

    Subject to the above requirements, the developing environment turns out to be functional, convenient, for the full development and education of elementary school children.

    Requirements for the teaching and methodological support of the classroom

    The primary school classroom should be equipped with maps, pictures, tables to help in mastering the material. From the literature, the presence is required:

    • directories;
    • popular science publications;
    • textbooks;
    • samples of practical and independent work of students.

    Children should have the most important information in front of their eyes – the multiplication table, the alphabet. They can be removed for independent and control work, but in the learning process, tips are important.

    Class zoning

    Formation of the developing environment includes space zoning. In elementary grades, the following zones are required:

    • Training. There are desks, a teacher’s table, a blackboard, bookcases, a projector.
    • Playroom. Promotes the rational use of free time at breaks. Here is located upholstered furniture, toys, coffee table.
    • Informational. Increases interest in learning and certain subjects. This zone contains information about a healthy lifestyle, traffic rules, life safety.
    • Green. This zone develops a sense of responsibility in children, introduces them to nature. Plants and natural materials are placed here.
    • Sanitary and hygienic. In this zone, children learn to take care of themselves, to monitor hygiene. There is a sink for washing hands, soap, towels.

    To equip an elementary school classroom in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard, please contact the Dostupnaya Strana company. We have a large selection of equipment and materials for the formation of a developing environment.

    Do your best – Teacher’s newspaper

    When a new school opens, for thousands of people everything happens for the first time. The teaching staff, assembled from teachers from other schools and even other cities. Elementary to senior year students who don’t have friends here. Yes, and the walls themselves: so far they have seen only builders. The director faces a difficult task – to simultaneously build several lines of relationships at once, without giving preference to any of them.

    At the beginning of the conversation with Elena Kamyshanova, head of school No. 79 in Yekaterinburg, I asked a naive question: “Maybe there are special courses for directors of new schools?” In Yekaterinburg, in recent years, the opening of a school is a frequent event.

    Courses, of course, no. What is there? Firstly, the leader’s own experience: on the director’s path, Kamyshanova is the third school. Secondly, the help of colleagues, for example, the director of the nearby school No. 23, which also appeared as a new one several years ago. Thirdly, support and advice from employees of the departments of education and capital construction.

    And here is the result of the first year of the school’s life: not without problems, but they were solved quite easily, and decent academic results were obtained.

    – Elena Anatolyevna, what became the elementary truths for you in the process of launching a new school?

    – The unity of the teaching staff in achieving the goal, the importance of traditions and the need to have their own identity.

    Teachers who live near the school came to us, most of them moved recently, the young microdistrict Akademichesky is growing at a rapid pace. There are many interns, teachers with experience, we appreciate their professionalism, but we understand that everyone has developed habits, their own vision of the educational process, a certain style of relationship with the administrative team.

    We tried to create the most comfortable conditions, including psychological ones, informed about everything in detail, accompanied us in order to move in the same direction, so that it would not turn out like in the famous fable “The Swan, the Cancer and the Pike”.

    I try to communicate with teachers every day, the door of my office is always open. There is a shortage of teachers in Yekaterinburg schools. As of September 1, our staff was fully staffed.

    – You talk about the importance of traditions. But the new school doesn’t have them yet.

    – Already there. I am sure that the festival “Student of the Year” will become a long-term tradition. The student of the year is not the only best child, these are all children who had achievements in studies, sports, social work, at olympiads, creative competitions. The results are summed up every quarter, and in May a solemn reception at the director of children and parents, a ceremony of awarding medals.

    Despite the fact that the start of school life fell on the period of the pandemic (we were completely ready for distance learning), events were held, although not in a mass format. But anyone could watch the broadcast: we have created and actively operate a channel on YouTube.

    A tradition of early vocational guidance is being established.

    – Please tell us more about this.

    – School No. 79 is a district resource center for engineering and technology education. This is what distinguishes us from other educational institutions. And, I think, a competitive advantage.

    Naturally, we understand that you cannot make every child an engineer, and this is not necessary. Our goal is for every graduate to know what to do in life, and not to be at a loss after graduation. Therefore, we start talking about different specialties from the first grade.

    In May, a festival of professions for all parallels was held for a week. Career guidance games were held in the lower grades, a drawing competition “My future profession”, parents talked about their work. Older children created presentations about professions that are interesting to them. There was an interschool game for students of 8-10 grades “Business idea”, the children tried themselves in the role of entrepreneurs.

    We are implementing the Smart Holidays project. Throughout the summer months, the school will hold classes in robotics, including for the youngest. High school students will be able to work on CNC machines in the resource center, study design using computer technology.

    – Do you also have specialized classes?

    – There is a tenth grade of a technological profile, the rest of the tenth graders study according to individual curricula. Everyone chooses the subjects, including in-depth study, that he will need to enter the university. Creating a study schedule in this case is painstaking work. Of course, it does not do without “windows” in the lesson schedule.

    – How do children spend their free time in case of “windows”?

    – In the library and information center, mostly. This is five hundred square meters of wonderful cozy space, divided into several zones. A book lending area, a study area with a projector, computers where library lessons are held, a co-working area where you can prepare for lessons, work on a project. There are two recreation areas: with round tables for extracurricular activities and with easy chairs. Everything is done in bright colors. Our school is generally bright, colorful inside, as you noticed.

    – The new school has many advantages, and the most obvious of them is the modern material and technical equipment.

    – I think it is especially valuable that the builders have designed separate areas with classrooms for children in elementary grades and children in elementary and secondary schools. Separate entrances, separate offices, separate sports halls – we have five of them! So younger students are more comfortable. It’s no secret that the beginning of school can be stressful for kids, especially when “uncles” and “aunts” from high school walk along the corridors. In the elementary school area, everything is done taking into account the age of the children, according to their height – toilets, drinking fountains.

    Quantitatively, junior schoolchildren are still in the lead. In 2020, 21 first grades were enrolled, and only 3 tenths. By September 1, 1,500 children were enrolled, by the end of the year there were 1,800 of them. New buildings continue to be settled in the microdistrict, which means that we still have to accept new children.

    – Elena Anatolyevna, your parents are also new!

    – Of course. I understand that they are compared with those educational institutions where children studied before. So that parents do not have increased anxiety, they need to be shown and told everything in what conditions their children are, how their school life is organized. I am always open for communication, not only during office hours.

    – Do you continue to teach Russian language and literature, or is the combination harmful here?

    – I haven’t taught for five years now and miss it. But I understand that I should always be ready to resolve any situation – economic, pedagogical, meet with parents to resolve urgent issues, organize, prevent, ensure development … All cases are very diverse and every minute require a creative approach! But if I understand that everything is working out and we, together with my colleagues, are moving forward with our entire large school, albeit in small steps, then I am in the right place! And I always follow my life motto: “Do the best you can, with what you have, where you are.
