Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School in Richmond has been renaming its buildings, including the replacement of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill by the name of black footballer Marcus Rashford. About it reports The Daily Mail.

It is noted that the school management held a vote among the students of the school (where they study at the age of 3 to 11) to hear their opinions.
As a result, Churchill was replaced by Rashford, and the writer JK Rowling was replaced by the black nurse Mary Seacole.

Recently, complaints against Churchill in Britain arise because of his inaction, which led to a famine in Bengal in 1943 (at that time from 1 to 4 million people died). In addition, Rowling could fall under the “cancellation” rule in Richmond because of her transphobic statements.

At the same time, some parents of schoolchildren considered such renaming to be cowardly and a punishment for “thought crimes.” Others liked that the black heroes of the country were now immortalized in the context of “diversity politics”.

Earlier Gazeta.Ru reported that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood up for Winston Churchill, whose monument in London was vandalized during mass protests. According to Johnson, Churchill was a hero, racism must be fought, but history must not be rewritten.

2020 International Architecture Prize Winners Announced

The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art Design and Urbanism announced the 2020 International Architecture Prize. The Global Architecture Awards for the World’s Best New Buildings and Urban Planning honored 125+ projects in 2020 from over 38 countries.

Established in 2005, this award was selected for an elite group of buildings and urban projects to be exhibited at the Contemporary Space Athens exhibition, which opens on September 11 and runs until October 11, 2020. Under the title “City and the World” he will travel around Europe. until 2021.
