A set of mind-maps for elementary school grades 1, 2, 3 and 4.

We teach at home

Mind maps are an excellent tool for orientation in any subject of the school curriculum. From them, you can easily understand what the child has already learned, and what else will need to be passed. This is a simple and visual way to repeat the material covered and prepare for certification.

Mind maps are a structured list of topics in all subjects of the school curriculum for the selected class. Topics are ordered and divided by color into zones, which makes it easy and quick to navigate the subject.

How you can use mind maps:

  • Plan the order of topics
  • Monitor progress
  • Use charts to review
  • Analyze the complexity and ease of learning for your child 900 12
  • Prepare for certification and verification tests using cards work
  • Teach your child a new method of working with information

After printing the cards, you can also:

  • hang them over the child’s desk – this will help him understand the amount of information that he is mastering;
  • use as a visual motivational tool, marking with stars the topics in which the child is successful;
  • make them the covers of work folders where you keep printouts of classes in subjects;
  • to develop imagination and associative thinking with the child by inviting him to create a picture map using a text map, depicting a particular topic for each subject with a picture.

My kits include mind maps for the following subjects:

Mathematics, Russian language, Environment, English, Literature, Technology, Fine Arts, Music, Physical education

They are colorfully designed so that even the child himself can use them if necessary:

  • marked completed topics, topics for repetition, etc.
  • color-selected areas to study
  • used maps as a glider or diary of achievement in subject

Each set of mind maps comes with several BONUSES – a memo with ideas and detailed examples of the use of mind maps in teaching a student, two videos of a master class on compiling mind maps (in Russian and around the world), discounts for other products.

    BONUS #1: MEMO “HOW TO USE MIND CARDS FOR SCHOOL SCHOOL SUBJECTS”

    Included with the Mind Maps for each class is a checklist in which I presented a large collection of ideas on using mind maps to teach children in the lower grades. For example:

    • How to diversify school subjects using mind maps.
    • What elements of game motivation can be used, how to repeat the material covered.
    • How to quickly test a child’s knowledge of the topics covered.
    • How to use mind maps as an additional motivational tool.
    • How to memorize terminology on a particular topic.

    BONUS #2: TWO MASTER CLASSES HOW TO MAKE MIND CARDS

    In each set of mind maps, I added two master classes on compiling mind maps on the topics: from scratch and explain the basic principles of its construction and how it can be used in teaching a child.

    BONUS #3: DISCOUNTS ON OTHER PRODUCTS

    Each set of mind cards has promotional codes for a discount on other sets of mind cards and a database of online lessons for grades 1 and 2.

    WE REGULARLY USE MIND CARDS IN HOME EDUCATION

    We regularly use mind cards in the process of teaching a child at home, so I have a wealth of experience in their practical application. This method greatly develops the child’s ability to work with information independently and qualitatively speeds up the learning process. On the topics covered, you can draw up projects, use them as hint tables, use them for retelling.

    For each subject, my son and I have a separate folder with files and it always contains mind maps.

    Choose your class and start using ready-made mind map sets for your child’s education in elementary school!

Smart card for Russian language lessons in elementary school | Elementary school

Author: Pyanova Natalya Sergeevna

Organization: MBOU secondary school № 11

Settlement: Novosibirsk region, Novosibirsk

In elementary school, children are still small, they learn to communicate, listen to teachers, and most importantly, learn to learn. At Russian language lessons, children have to learn the rules, but some of them are memorized like a poem, others are taught, but they both do not always understand the same rules.

In her work at the lessons, when studying a topic, she often used schemes where one concept follows from another. We draw conclusions and generalize. And I noticed that the guys remember the key words better, they remember what comes after what. And so along the chain they remember the very essence of the rule in the Russian language, which they then apply in practice, namely, when writing dictations, words and sentences under dictation, essays, when performing exercises with missing letters, etc. Consequently, the level of literate writing increases.

Simultaneously with the application of my schemes, I learned about the method of the British psychologist Tony Buzan. He is the author of mind map translated from English – mind map, mental map, mind map. The method may be called differently, but it is always a visual representation of information that reflects the systemic connections between the whole and its parts. Such a diagram is built around a central theme, from which “branches” depart, helping to understand what this concept consists of. Tony Buzan back at 1974 showed the Mind Map on television.

And so I got a Smart Card. I call this method Smart Card, and it looks a little different (in my opinion). The name was chosen exactly like this – Smart card. Since this name is closer to me, it is clearer to the guys. And the guys themselves know that if they forgot something, then they turn to the Smart Card, where everything is in order, everything is clearly spelled out, drawn.

I think that the Smart Card is a really simple, visual, creative, and fairly quick way to memorize the rules.

I use this method in Russian language lessons in elementary school to develop the ability of children to analyze and systematize knowledge. Consequently, the analytical abilities of students develop in order to establish connections between topics, concepts, formulations of rules. The Smart Map method helps to sort out new information in the head and on a piece of paper on the shelves. I start using smart cards from the 1st grade.

Why do I use Smart cards.

  1. Remembering the rules becomes meaningful , implies understanding the topic, not memorizing it. Each student “passes the topic through himself.”

  2. Rules are better remembered . In the textbook, new information is presented by a text that is not immediately perceived, especially by elementary school students. It needs to be reworked, rethought by the child, to highlight the main thing, but elementary school students take the first steps in learning, they are still learning to analyze, draw conclusions. It is here that, by performing the Smart Card, students develop general educational skills related to the perception, processing and exchange of information (participation in discussions, preparation of speeches in the classroom, writing essays, etc. ).

  3. Improves memory.

  4. Smart map is compiled by the guys themselves , breaking it into main parts, blocks, therefore, it is much easier for the human brain to perceive such information. That’s right, the guys themselves make up, one might say, they draw, write, and everything will be right. Most importantly, they simultaneously learn this rule (they say all the main points), apply it in practice (they themselves give examples).

  5. Students’ creativity develops.

  6. Learn to solve a problem.

How do we create Smart Maps in the classroom.

It must be said that learning to draw up Smart Maps should go gradually: first, an analysis of an already finished image (they consider a map compiled by me and I still let them add some points). Then joint compilation. Only then can work be distributed in groups and in pairs.

First, we worked on A4 sheets, then pasted them into the notebook. Now, having released some children, and having already recruited others (first-graders this year), I realized that it is better and more convenient to use a common A4 notebook. When compiling a Smart Map, we place it horizontally. We use colored pencils to highlight important information with color, and in color it is visually better remembered. In the center we place the rule being studied (for example, the words Vowels). And here in our Smart Map there are key words of the rule itself or a brief wording. Because, again, students learn to memorize the rules. And repetition, as they say, is the mother of learning. Through repetition, key words are firmly fixed in memory. Branches diverge from it (letters that indicate the hardness of a consonant sound and letters that indicate the softness of a consonant sound). Branches can be different in thickness, color, length. Semantic blocks are circled or ovals. They can also be painted in different colors or outlined. The main thing when compiling a Smart Card is that it must meet the principles of visibility – different colors, multi-colored lines, signals, there may be small drawings, pictures. And fullness – the thought must be traced, revealed.

Why do students and teachers need Smart Cards?

Students learn to hear and understand the information received in the classroom, to highlight the main thing, to analyze, to find in the textbook, to memorize and apply.

In turn, the teacher’s task is to interest students, to explain new material in an accessible, interesting, scientific way. Same thing, but slightly different. The teacher pursues the following tasks:

  1. ability to analyze;
  2. to form students’ cognitive motivation;
  3. the ability to search for information, dictionaries, the Internet;
  4. the ability to reason, draw conclusions, make a decision.
  5. Develop creative abilities.

And indeed, practice shows that the children develop their speech when compiling Smart Maps,

. It becomes competent, consistent, the quality of students’ knowledge improves, the guys study with desire, learn to express their thoughts, and identify relationships.
