FIRST Ridgeland Baptist Church | the PRESCHOOL
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. ..
Matthew 19:24
The Preschool at First Ridgeland exists to partner you in educating, equipping, and empowering your child to pursue their passion and purpose in Christ. Our program is designed to build academic foundations that foster a love for learning; but more importantly, build a foundation on Jesus and the Word of God.
We have a passion and mission to point our preschoolers to Christ. We strive daily to cultivate learning environments that will stimulate, challenge, and encourage children to their fullest potential. It is our goal for children to learn developmentally appropriate skills and knowledge, love their neighbor and God, and do it all with a spirit of joy and laughter. Learning begins in the infant room and continues through the school-age program where we aim to foster the development of each child.
Our vision is to be an encouraging light to you and love on your children the way God has called us to. Matthew 5:16 states, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Infants, babies, and toddlers
Beginning at eight weeks, we have full-day specialized childcare for your baby. Our Infant program offers loving, calming, nurturing care that will enable your baby to grow and develop. This is such a monumental age and we’ll celebrate each important milestone with you by communicating with you daily regarding their day. You’ll have complete peace knowing our safety, security, and cleanliness standards are top priority and exceed expectations. Our goal is to support and encourage your child during the transition from the sensory motor realm of infancy to the social world of toddlers.

Two year olds
Your toddler will begin to have valuable interactions and experiences that encourage growth and foster development. Using age-appropriate curriculum our children begin to learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, family, and the world around them as we incorporate numerous themes and activities that will help each child at their specific stage of development. They will participate in teacher-directed activities as well as child-directed activities to stimulate a sense of community and individuality.

Three and four year olds
Our three and four year old classrooms incorporate the A Beka curriculum presented with corresponding Bible stories that correlate with the monthly theme. These themes encourage students to expand their knowledge through educational material along with learning through story time, art, free play, small group activities, music and movement, and science. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters an enthusiasm and love for learning that builds school readiness skills. We want to equip your child for the academic world and give them opportunity to grow spiritually in Christ through Bible lessons, prayer, and weekly chapel services.
