In Krasnoyarsk, parents were reminded of the weather in which it is possible not to take children to school and kindergarten.
According to the General Directorate of Education, primary school students may not come to school if the temperature drops below -32 degrees.
For students in grades 5–11, the temperature threshold is lower: -35 degrees. But even if parents bring their children to school in cold weather, they will be accepted there and classes will be organized.
There are no strict weather restrictions for kindergartens: preschools operate at any temperature. If the parents do not want to bring the child into the cold, they must inform the manager or educator about this. Note that at air temperatures below -15 degrees and wind speeds of more than 7 m / s, walks for preschoolers are canceled or reduced in time.
Let’s add that at night, according to the mayor’s office, the temperature dropped below -25 degrees, but did not reach a critical point. Therefore, today classes in schools are held as planned.

“The biggest difficulty is Russian fairy tales”: how kindergartens live in Israel
In Israel, having many children is the norm, even among the secular population, families with several children are very common.
On weekends, the parks are filled with multi-colored bedspreads and containers with fruit, next to them are two or three kids of about the same age, mom, dad and a dog. On weekdays, all the participants in these picnics have their own special routine of life. Our expert, psychologist Marina Bykova, tells the details – right from the scene.
Buckwheat and syrniki – haute cuisine
Maternity leave for working women in Israel is only 15 weeks. Usually it is taken only after childbirth, and then they can extend it by the same amount, without saving a salary. It turns out that a mother can only be with the baby for six months, and then she must return to work. It is difficult to say how correct this is for the child, but it is definitely easier for the employer. Of course, youth and marriage cannot cause a candidate to be refused an interview, but attention is paid to this, since often six months after one decree, the mother leaves for another. A young father is also entitled to a decree, for a week.
Public kindergartens only accept children from 3-4 years old. Until that moment, working mothers use the services of a nanny or send their child to a private kindergarten: there is usually a nursery group, where they are accepted from six months. Kindergartens differ in the conditions of stay, the method of education and, most importantly, the language of communication of employees.

Since there are a large number of immigrants from the CIS countries in Israel, many cities have private Russian-language kindergartens. However, there may be completely different children. Someone’s parents arrived a few years ago, someone’s grandparents moved to the 70s, somewhere only one parent is Russian-speaking, and some families have nothing to do with the former USSR at all.

For breakfast – porridge, for lunch – soup or hot.
In the morning, a general gathering is obligatory, “mifgash” (מפגש — “meeting, meeting”), where children do exercises or read fairy tales about the seasons and holidays. Several times a week there are developing activities: modeling, gymnastics, music. Children of completely Israeli families after kindergarten impress their parents with the demand to cook buckwheat or syrniki, which in Hebrew sounds like haute cuisine.
Teachers and nannies communicate with children in Russian, but they can switch to Hebrew if the child has just come to the kindergarten, and Russian is not spoken at home. And the children themselves practically do not mix languages. If you ask a two-year-old what color the ball is in Russian, he will try to answer in Russian, not in Hebrew. At the same time, any child from the group can count from one to ten in different languages separately.
Among themselves, children from Hebrew-speaking families sometimes chat in Hebrew, but if the teacher calls them, they will answer in Russian.
It’s funny to watch how the switch happens when the parents pick up the child in the evening: a couple of seconds of silence, as if the person tunes in to another channel, and then suddenly smartly tells the Israeli dad in Hebrew how the day went in the kindergarten.

Usually these are families that are more open to different cultures and understand how diverse Israel is. One boy from a mixed family, when asked what his mother’s name is, calls her Russian name, and says “aba” (אבא – “dad”) about the name of the pope.
“Father Frost”, “iron”, “slippers” and other incomprehensible words
The biggest difficulty is Russian fairy tales. It is difficult for modern children, even in the CIS, to understand what spelled or harnessed sleds are.
And here climatic and historical features are added. The tale about Aibolit, where they are asked not to go to Africa, gives educators a reason to joke about the unstable situation at the borders.
The tale of the swan geese that drag Vanechka to the evil Baba Yaga is also incomprehensible to many Israeli children. Most of them have older brothers and sisters who, from the age of 10–12, go home from school on their own and walk until evening, so the kids don’t understand why they shouldn’t go out alone.

Children do not understand well what rain and autumn are, because such weather was only a couple of months in their entire lives, and in Russian fairy tales there is a lot about snow, which is not there at all, except in the mountains .
The first Russian alphabet contains things outlandish for Israeli children, which are not so often used here: U – “iron”, T – “slippers”
Of course, all this is at home, but half of the hot year you can do without it. Incomprehensible animals like guinea pigs and birds are also classified as pets – here, except for dogs and cats, almost no one is brought into houses, and parrots, on the contrary, can live freely in large parks.
Books in Russian adapted to Israeli reality are very difficult to find. There are pears and Christmas trees in the Russian-language manuals, but there are no figs and palm trees. One mother from a Hebrew-speaking family tried for a long time to understand what kind of monster this “turnip” is. It turns out that there is an adapted Israeli version of this tale about carrots.
New Year is a separate issue. In Israel, this holiday is not celebrated in any way, religion has its own day of the change of year, in the fall. Some Russian-speaking families traditionally put up an artificial Christmas tree and give gifts to children. But for many children, the concept of “Santa Claus” and all the fairy tales and songs about him, respectively, are completely inaccessible.
Feet on the table and punishments in Hebrew
Israeli parents also have a different approach to raising children. Almost nothing is forbidden to a child, up to the compulsory army for all. At first, it may even seem that Israeli children are uncontrollable.
Some may put their feet on the table or refuse to fall asleep under the wrong blanket. On the other hand, from an early age they have their own opinion and can express it, they are sure that their parents love them endlessly and will always support them.

In Russian kindergartens, discipline is more followed, they try to balance between the Soviet “exemplary” education and the chaos of the Israelis. No one is silent while eating, but the plates do not fly around the whole group. Children come to the garden in beautiful clothes, many in white. Once, a dad, a serious surgeon, with a huge balloon, came for the most princess-bred girl. The girl told him three times to hang it on the other side of the stroller because she wanted to. Dad would be happy to outweigh it for the fourth time.
Of course, there are punishments in the garden. Instead of standing in the corner, you need to sit on a chair and at least try to think about your behavior.
Such punishment is also used in public gardens.
Children from Hebrew-speaking families sometimes need to be scolded in Hebrew, because at this moment the baby may not perceive Russian because of resentment or anger be different. Due to the fact that children are sent there so early, by the time they leave the private kindergarten, they are already independent and can fully serve themselves.
Life without a quiet hour and an extension in the garden
When a baby turns 3-4 years old, he goes to the “adult”, state garden. From morning until two o’clock in the afternoon, staying there is free, after that an extension begins strictly until five, for a fee. There is no quiet time for children at this age. During breakfast, a special catering service arrives and sets up a kind of buffet with vegetables, fruits, eggs, hummus, and bread. For lunch – meat and a side dish, but no more cutlets and soup.
Babies stay in the nursery until the age of six. Several times a week, developmental classes are held for them: sports, skill, music, logic.
In older groups, children are prepared separately for school: they learn to write numbers and letters, cut out evenly, and color.
But the degree of readiness for the first grade is not determined here by the knowledge of the child
It is important that the child be ready to sit and listen for a long time in the lesson, to be able to do tasks according to the rules. There are no entrance exams to public schools, it is desirable to know the letters well, but this is not necessary either. Private gymnasiums may have their own requirements. Also, for older groups of kindergartens, days of acquaintance with the school are held there: children go to the gymnasium for an excursion, and younger students, on the contrary, come to the garden to play with future friends.
