Boycott of semolina: a group for children with diabetes opened in a Chelyabinsk kindergarten – September 6, 2018
This specialized group for children with diabetes is the second in Russia
Photo: Tatyana Tikhonova
in the branch of kindergarten No. 17 on the street 40 years of Victory, 27b opened a group for children with diabetes. For preschool children, the institution has provided everything, up to an endocrinologist, so that parents can safely leave their kids. Details in our material.
Little Chelyabinsk residents with diabetes can now go to kindergarten

Life itself dictated the emergence of a specialized group in kindergarten.
“Our children’s polyclinic No. 8 initiated the opening of such a group. At that time, we already had two children with diabetes: one is older, the other is still very small,” says Irina Rybalko, head of the kindergarten. – We knew one of the families for a long time, older children came to us, and we were very worried when a disaster happened and the baby was diagnosed with diabetes. But then the parents came to us and said: “There is no trouble, the child has to live with this all his life.” Then we discussed with the parents a further plan of action so that the child could continue attending kindergarten.
The children showed a concert to the officials of the Ministry of Education and the City Health who arrived at the opening of the group

Of course, there were certain difficulties. For example, the mother of six-year-old Ira, in order to inject her daughter with insulin after dinner, had to spend an hour every day on the road to the kindergarten and back to work.
— Many parents refuse kindergarten when a child is diagnosed with such a diagnosis, because it is necessary to control not only what the child ate, what kind of sugar he has, but even how much he moved. Yes, and kindergartens do not particularly take such children, why do they need such a responsibility? – says the girl’s mother Tatyana. – But Irishka has been going to kindergarten for several years, she loved him very much, she has friends here, so it was simply impossible to close her within four walls. We were lucky that both the headmaster and the teachers went to meet us.
Doctors diagnosed six-year-old Irishka a year ago, when the girl lost weight and became weak

Looking at these families, caregivers and doctors decided to “free their parents’ hands” and take on some of the responsibility for diabetes control.
— The head physician of the polyclinic, Anton Petrovich Ryzhiy, developed a project for a specialized group and presented it to the committee for education. The idea was supported,” Irina Rybalko describes. – Since February, we began to prepare a group, think over together with the doctors how it will all be, prepared the documents, received a license and today we accept children.
For help in the implementation of the project, Anton Ryzhiy went to the deputy of the Kalininsky district, Kirill Chiglintsev, who himself has a medical education. He became a link between the initiative head physician and officials. It took six months to go through all the procedures in the city health department and the education committee.
Other kids showed the disease even earlier

There are already 15 children from three to seven years old in the group list, and the recruitment is still ongoing.
— Doctors helped us recruit children. When the parents found out about our group, families from all over the city began to come to us: Selmash, Churilovo, Krasnoe Pole, – lists the head. – Parents from different parts of the city are going to take their children to us, and this does not frighten them, because this is primarily socialization, and children need to live on, despite the diagnoses.
Kindergartens are reluctant to take such kids, it is a big responsibility

The kindergarten has already developed a special menu for children, without sugar and with a minimum amount of carbohydrates. Semolina for breakfast and mashed potatoes for dinner are not for them. The cooks have already learned how to calculate bread units, and the group, together with the educators, is settled in by medical workers.
And here doctors will work together with educators

— The polyclinic gives us its specialists. Two nurses will work in shifts, as educators, they will control the menu and observe the children, carry out the necessary manipulations. We have advanced families, when the child is monitored, and the mother remotely controls his sugar, if something goes wrong, he comes. We will free parents from this total control, the nurses themselves will monitor the condition of the children. An endocrinologist from the polyclinic will also come to the kindergarten, so the children will be under control.
The children have already begun to settle in their new group

The group will be visited by children of different ages, but this does not frighten the educators.
— The group has everything to ensure leisure and educational process. Older children will go to other groups for educational classes, thereby their social circle will further expand, – said Oksana Chulkova, teacher of the “Gnomiki” group.
Everything was provided in the kindergarten to make it interesting for children of different ages

Children in the Chelyabinsk Region suffer from diabetes two and a half times more often than the average for Russia. Last year, the registry included more than 900 children with type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes, 100 more than a year earlier. Therefore, the first group for children with diabetes in Chelyabinsk is most likely only the first sign.
Children will be able to go to classes with their peers

Earlier in Chelyabinsk, it was proposed to involve social workers in the treatment of children with diabetes. For what it is for doctors – read in our material.
There are still places in the group, so other children with diabetes have a chance to get into kindergarten

SMALL COUNTRY in great detail
There is a country not marked on the map – “Little Country”. It is inhabited by children. It’s always warm, homely, and you can hear children’s laughter. That’s right, “Little Country” is the name of a franchise network of private gardens, which is far from the raging economic crises or other world problems, but only flourishes every day. We talked with the head of the network Budivskaya Alina Alexandrovna, and found out how we manage to develop in the face of fierce competition. Alina Alexandrovna is the mother of two charming boys. Senior 9years old and he is in the third grade of a progymnasium, and the youngest is 6 years old, and he goes …, of course, to the “Little Country”.
How did you get the idea to start a kindergarten franchise?
My husband and I have been working in the field of education since 1992. True, in higher education – at the Moscow Regional Institute of Management, in which I myself went from a methodologist to the first vice-rector. At the age of 25, she defended her Ph. D. and received the degree of associate professor.
With the advent of the eldest son, we faced the problem of lack of places in kindergartens in our city. We have not found an alternative in the field of private business. And we decided to open our own kindergarten!
We opened our first kindergarten “Little Country” for our child. After working for a year, we realized that, firstly, it is possible to work efficiently and legally in this area, and, secondly, the demand for such gardens within walking distance is very high. Therefore, we decided to open two more kindergartens – for 40 and 20 children. At this stage, we realized the usefulness of our experience and the collected information, and in 2013 the Institute created a retraining program for specialists in the field of preschool education “Open your own kindergarten!”. With this program, we took part in an open competition among non-profit non-governmental organizations, held in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin from 29March 2013 115-RP “On providing state support in 2013 to non-profit non-governmental organizations implementing socially significant projects and participating in the development of civil society institutions”, 148 people were among the winners and received a grant for training.
Analyzing the results of training, we realized that it is not enough to give people information about opening kindergartens, they need constant advisory, informational and methodological support, which we cannot provide within the framework of training, even if it is an annual one. Therefore, it was decided to register a trademark and help people fulfill their dream – to open their own kindergarten! This is how the construction of our network of gardens “Little Country” began.
How is Little Country different from other gardens?
We have over 20 years of experience in education. Therefore, the whole concept of franchising “Little Country” is built correctly and thoroughly. Our partners first receive basic knowledge, without which it is simply impossible to start a business in the field of education. These are regulatory documents, the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the features of the new Federal State Standard for Distance Education, psychology and pedagogy, management and marketing, business planning, and much more. Further, we help to select the premises for the future kindergarten, based on the needs of the chosen city. We calculate the business model. We fully accompany the partner when concluding a long-term lease agreement, carrying out repairs.
By the time the kindergarten opens, groups are almost always at least 60 percent full. At the same time, we help to obtain a license and apply for subventions from the municipality. Further, our methodological department launches and adjusts the educational system of the new kindergarten to the quality standards of the “Little Country”.
The main criterion for this standard is that children like our kindergartens, and parents see progress in their child’s development!
What difficulties can new entrepreneurs face?
Pre-school education is definitely not the easiest business. And there are always a lot of problems.
But the return that you feel later when you have a full kindergarten, life is in full swing, classes, morning performances, holidays, and the children’s eyes light up – this outweighs any difficulties!
Does the crisis affect the preschool education market and how?
Now in Russia, according to Rosstat, for the first time in many years, the birth rate has exceeded the death rate. There is no region in our country that does not have a queue for kindergartens. Little Country Kindergartens are premium English kindergartens, but at the price of a regular kindergarten, so there are even queues for our kindergartens. Of course, not as large as in municipal gardens.
It is significant that about half of our partners who opened their gardens in 2014 and early 2015 are now opening their second garden.
The head of the kindergarten “Little Country” is. …
A man who made his dream come true. Almost all of our franchisees dreamed of opening “their” kindergarten and opened it. But, if we make a collective image of the head of the kindergarten, then this is a person with children who cares about the education that his child will receive. Almost every story of those who work with us begins like this: “… the time has come to send the child to kindergarten, but there is simply no worthy choice …”. Plus long queues. Many people are interested in opening their own kindergarten and not worrying about the future of their child. Well, we, as a management, are sure that our partners will maintain the level of quality, because their children also visit the “Little Country”!
Tell us about yourself. What kind of mother are you?
Probably crazy. My husband and I love our work, and the children also help with everything. For example, “work” at the exhibition as promoters. Of course, we pamper children, where without it.
Well, but in life… I am fond of landscape design, needlework. There are a lot of “animals” at home. I believe that if children grow up with pets and get used to answering and taking care of them, wonderful, responsible people will grow up, always ready to help.
How do you manage to do everything?
My husband and I always counted only on ourselves. Children almost from birth are constantly with me. I think that this is probably not the easiest way, but children grow up with the understanding that in life you need to constantly work, learn new things, not sit idle.
There is very high competition among private gardens. You not only “survive”, but manage to open new branches. How do you do it?
Quality, quality and again quality – in everything, from the arrangement of a kindergarten, security (security, video surveillance, insurance, and so on), educational programs, delicious food. When it comes to children, we always choose only the best. And we demand the same from our partners.
Right now, in times of crisis, we are launching the project “Childhood Town” from “Little Country” “Open a kindergarten for your child.” This is a very inexpensive franchise package, designed to open a small home garden that is not inferior in quality to the full-sized gardens of the network. A good option in a crisis is to create a job for mom, a place in kindergarten for her child and, in general, a young mother to realize herself. The payback of the project is only 3 months. Investments are minimal. The launch is fast – in 1-2 months.
Would you like to change something in the system of pre-school and school education?
Good topic. Of course, I would like to. In fact, I was very pleased with the new Federal State Standard for Preschool Education. Again, the games were returned to the kids and the desks were removed. We added more in the developing environment for the development of thinking, creativity, non-standard thinking. For example, in our kindergartens we have introduced such courses as legoconstruction, fairy tale therapy, and sand therapy. And all this within the framework of the Federal State Educational Standard!
Now that my eldest son is attending elementary school, I can say for sure: children are overloaded, especially in grades 1-2. For first-graders, school is already a lot of stress, especially when a child comes to a new team for him. Therefore, I believe that in the first grade, more attention should be paid to game methods of working with children, various team sports games that work to unite the class.
What would you like to wish all parents?
Try to devote more time to your children, just talk to them, laugh… After all, that short period of time when our kids need us so much is very short. Then friends, hobbies will begin .
