bright, unusual, functional – Tranio.Ru

The building of the first kindergarten, which opened in Germany in 1837, did not differ from an ordinary residential building. As for schools, their appearance in past centuries was reminiscent of juvenile correctional institutions. But today, the design of buildings for children is given much more attention.

Architects of kindergartens and schools proceed from the fact that such facilities must be functional, safe and environmentally friendly. The exterior of the building and its interior should stimulate the imagination, reduce stress and improve mood. Children spend a lot of time playing games, so the kindergarten building should also be adapted for outdoor activities.

Modern architects are not afraid to experiment, so unusual schools appear: without classrooms, with playgrounds on the roof, with walls covered with grass.

There is a school in Sweden without the usual classrooms: there are no separate classrooms with even rows of tables and chairs. The room is divided into many zones for different purposes: for group and individual training, as well as for recreation. There is also a laboratory where practical classes are held. Lessons are held in an informal environment that stimulates the creative development of children.

Another non-standard school is located in the Spanish city of Torre Pacheco. It resembles a miniature golf course with extremely difficult terrain. The walls of the building are covered with artificial turf, which is used on sports fields. The building is distinguished not only by its stylish minimalist interior, but also by the originality of the materials used in its construction: the frame is completely covered with lawn grass, which does not require special care. In addition, it protects the premises from overheating. This is especially important as temperatures in Torre Pacheco can reach 50°C in summer.

In the French commune of La Courneuve, not far from Paris, they built a school combined with a kindergarten, with bright orange walls. Such optimistic coloring enlivens the look of the area, which was previously the epicenter of the war of the suburbs. The school was built on the site of two residential buildings that were blown up in 2004. But not only the bright design attracts attention. A sports ground with a football field is equipped on the roof of one of the school buildings.

Berlin’s Taka-Tuk Land Kindergarten is also partly a playground: you can climb, jump and slide along its façade. The institution is named after the country of Taka-Tuka from the tales of Pippi Longstocking. Children participated in the design of the building: they expressed their wishes, and the architects, together with the builders, made them a reality. The interior is dominated by yellow – this should remind you of the lemonade rivers from the works of Astrid Lindgren. A kind of architectural culmination is the “lemonade island”: this is a place where children seem to be taller than adults.

Young children are just learning to recognize and name colors, so the rooms and outside walls of kindergartens are often painted with bright, warm colors. For example, in the Swiss city of Monte, a building was built with a facade of vertical multi-colored boards – pink, orange, red and green. The two-story kindergarten, which accommodates approximately 180 children, includes six rooms, each of which is painted in a different color: purple, pink, green, yellow, blue and orange.

A similar idea came to the creators of the Kekec kindergarten in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The facade consists of vertical boards that rotate around their axis. From the inside, they have a wooden texture, and outside they are painted in nine bright colors. Such “blinds” are not only a natural protection from the sun, but also an incomparable toy for children who like to change the face of a building with the wave of a hand. The building is a prefabricated structure, so it was erected in just three days. All furniture is made of wood.

There are properties that are a marvel of design in densely populated areas. For example, in Paris, in a tight gap between high-rise residential buildings, the Picard kindergarten was squeezed in.
